Chapter 1 :The Information
"No." Anya said without looking up from her laptop as she continued typing away, paying no heed to her friend who now started getting desperate.
"Please, Seriously, you know i would never come to you for help regarding this if there were any other options available for me to get this accomplished!" Ye Jun looked up to her friend, eyes willing her to agree.
Said eyes were never even glanced at as Anya kept typing without looking up. "Nopes." She replied again.
"COME ON!" Ye Jun sighed and abruptly sat back at the luxurious leather chair. Taking a pause she studied her friend.
They both sat in a beautiful modern office chamber overlooking the city and Han River. one side of the room was only ceiling to floor glass which provided a spectacular view of the city of Seoul from the vantage point of the 25th floor. The room itself was designed in sleek minimalistic design in the tones of dark grey, navy blue white. a large beautiful black desk in the middle, low soft and supple black sofas in the corner, huge cupboard in the opposite side graced the room. And of course, the Leather armchair in the opposite side of the desk currently occupied by her best friend Kim Anya.
Kim Anya.
A well known name not only in South Korea but also in the world. She and her brother Kim Suhan were well known names in the trades of jewellery. Hell, their whole family were. Generations of the Kims were in the same business, leading it to be turned into a empire which was well known globally. Their designs were the most sought after, quality which was known to be absolutely flawless.
Their was the name that could never be afforded by any middle class individuals. Even if some possessed their design, it was only if decades of savings were used. While the richer population used it as a way of showing their wealth, their status.
Heiress to this empire was her friend and her brother. Their father had long since retired from the business, the company solely being run by the siblings.
Ye Jun observed Anya as she sat gracefully in a straight posture, ankles crossed while she continued her work. She was beautiful. Her long dark hair was tied back at her nape while her wine coloured dress hugged her full figure loosely. She wasn't just a beauty though. Oh no.
Graduating high school at the age of 14, she continued her business degree and her other majors early. Completing her college at 18, she was perhaps the most brilliant of all generations of the Kims. It was well known that it was her aptitude towards the financials, her fresh designs and her sharp business mind that pushed the empire to even higher heights.
Ye Jun had met her due to her being a family friend. She was older than her too. While Anya was 24, she herself was 30. the age difference did not matter though. even though in Korea, Anya was a little oddball. So different in her thought and maturity that the age never seemed like a barrier.
Though her being stubborn was a different matter altogether. Ye Jun sighed again. Convincing her was like a fight against a brick wall with bare hands especially about something that her friend did not want to do at all.
"You know you will make a difference to the lives we will save right? Not just that, the men we are after are not just wanted for the Illegal Death Tournaments of the hybrids. they did the same with human children too. Children below 16."
Anya paused at her typing. Finally looking up at her friend. "What?"
Ye Jun smiled internally. Should have led with that she thought.
Resting her forearms on the desk, she leaned forward to get comfortable when she knew that she now had her friend's full attention.
"The ring we are after is well known for abducting homeless children, or those children who will not be missed. They force the girls into prostitution while the boys are trained to be fighters in the illegal underground fightings. Its just recently we gathered enough evidence to connect that these are the same group who smuggle Hybrids to top bidders who wish to have their sadistic pleasures end in blood and killings."
Anya's eyes darkened. Such scum, such filthy people were a blight in a already corrupt world. snatching away the life of others for their pleasure was beyond disgusting. It was evil. According to her, children were never supposed to be harmed. Never. These were the people Hell was build for, she thought.
Anya paused her work, saved her documents and shut down her laptop. Freeing herself from the work, she finally gave her whole attention to her friend.
Leaning back in her chair she looked at her friend and continued. "So tell me again, why does the NIS want me to go to this auction when they are already sending in a team?"
Ye Jun started earnestly. "We need access in the auction. Even though we have preparations done and the whole cover set up, we need an extra edge. Capturing this ring is not going to be easy because they THEMSELVES never come out to show themselves. they work in the background. So even if we were to go infiltrate, the only people we will capture will be the puppets acting on their behalf while they will slip away again"
"Okaaaay." Anya breathed. "I still do not understand how I can help. Like I am not trained to be an agent like you, nor do I have superpowers compelling the criminals to come attend this auction thing."
Ye Jun rolled her eyes and sighed. "Seriously? You are seriously asking me that?"
"What?" Anya asked completely confused at her friend.
Ye Jun shook her head at her friend. She could be so clueless about herself sometimes. "You are Kim Anya. Known as the Crystal Princess. A billionaire with extreme wealth and power."
Anya slightly shifted in her seat. Yes, she was aware of her reputation, she was aware of the her status but how that helped the law in this situation, she had no clue. Her absolute confusion must have shown in her expression because her friend sighed, took a deep breath closed her eyes, breathed out then straightened and opened her eyes to look at her with forced patience.
"You did not hear a single word I was saying about the situation earlier, right?" Ye Jun asked in a fake happy tone. Anya winced at the obvious effort her friend was exerting for her.
"Sorry." She said with her head lowered.
"Its fine. Now listen." Ye Jun started. "This auction is for elite class only. The Hybrids auctioned here will be exotic and beautiful. Though this is not the run of the mill auction. These hybrids are trained for providing pleasure."
"Huh?" Anya asked.
"Sex." was what Ye Jun replied with in a matter of fact manner. "This is an auction to get Hybrids who are not only well trained Slaves, but also trained to obey any sexual demand their masters make. Such exotic animals perfectly trained in the manner are rare, hence this auction is held only once a year. Of course this auction is normal and perfectly legal."
"What? if this is legal then?" Anya questioned, although she also wanted to question WHY or more to the point HOW was this legal. Of course there were Brothels and Pleasure houses that were filled with such hybrids and she was well aware that normal Hybrids were also pretty frequently assaulted by their owners, but to specifically train and auction them? Was that not going a bit too far? Not only that, If they were being called Exotic, then that could only Mean predator Hybrids. Training them to be docile, was hard as it is. Conditioning had to be twice as rough and thorough to get them in the same level of obedience as the other prey or normal domestic animal Hybrids, but to have them that meek as to obey any demands of pleasure? That was taking the cruelty in a different level.
"This auction actually hides another auction." Ye Jun answered pulling her away from her thoughts. "The real auction goes though the legal checks, but on the second day of this 5 day event, within the auction, a very backdoor secret auction goes about. Its not open. Only people who know about it and want it are personally approached to take part."
Anya was beginning to understand what her friend was saying but she still wanted her to clarify. "Explain it further please?"
Ye Jun nodded "Parties who are well known to be sadists, who are wealthy, and are known to want extreme pleasures, who want or have often talked about chasing a high doing the most depraved acts, are personally approached by these scum bags to attend and bid in the hidden event."
"What exactly is this act?" Anya asked in a low voice but was pretty sure she knew what horror it was.
"These bastards provide Hybrids to people who want to butcher of kill them after raping them."
Anya sat back in her chair and closed her eyes, fighting to keep the sick feeling at bay. She swallowed a couple of times while trying to stay calm. She knew that the world she lived in was not a good place for Hybrids. She knew that even she was accustomed to the way they were treated as normal, she knew that many Hybrids were abused to the extent that they died. But to openly Train, auction and buy a Hybrid for the sole purpose of killing them after abusing them to the heart's content? No. Just no. This was beyond the terms of Evil. This was not only inhuman but was vicious and monstrous.
She steadied herself and looked at Ye Jun. "What you are saying is depraved. I would love to help you, but, if what you are saying is correct, I don't think I can help even if i want to." She leaned forward and continued. "These people would never approach me. They have never seen me in any such gatherings."
"We know that. We got that handled. We don't need you to infiltrate that auction." Ye Jun interrupted.
"Huh?" Anya was again confused. "Then why do you need me? And how explained handled."
"We have an agent undercover for the past 3 years who has been a regular and has cultivated a cover of being such an individual who will no doubt be approached by these scum. but as I said, the auction will be carried forward by the puppets while the real smuggling ring will not be present. Even if we arrest the people handling the auction, they won't be able to point us in the direction of the real culprits. That is why we need you."
Ye Jun held up her hand to stop Anya from questioning her on this as well as she continued explaining "As I said, your reputation is of one of the cream de la creams of this planet both in terms of wealth and power easily making the top 10 of the most richest. You are also known to have NEVER possessed any Hybrids in your life. If the word gets out that you will be attending this auction with the intent of buying multiple hybrids, then the ring of criminals will undoubtedly be present to vet you and check you out to gauge any needs you might have so that they could make more money."
Ahhh..... Anya leaned back when she finally understood. but she again had a confusion.
"Thats a nice reasoning but correct me if i am wrong, you said the regular auction takes place for 5 days?"
Ye Jun nodded.
"Which means that if this is a hidden auction where they need to be aware of the people they approach, they will be checking out everyone in the regular auction? because their auction would most likely happen on the last day?"
Ye Jun nodded again.
"Does it not mean that they will also be keeping an eye on me even if they dont approach me?"
A nod again.
"So won't they know something is wrong if they see me in the auction loitering about for 4 days but not buying any hybrids even when I claimed to?"
"You are absolutely right Anya."
"Soooooo.....? What is the solution to this?"
"Well..." Ye Jun drifted off while looking Anya in her eyes in a guarded manner. "It all depends on whether you want to really help us to catch these criminals or not." She said in a polite formal manner.
Hearing her tone made Anya sit up straighter on her seat. She knew her friend was most likely gonna say something that she disagreed to. That was the only time her friend used this voice with her. Nevertheless she answered. "Of course I want to help. You know how I feel about helping others."
Ye Jun smiled slightly at that sentence. Yes she did know. Even though her friend was above in a exalted status, she was a good person. She always said If people can do harm just because they can, does it not follow that I can do good or help others because i can?
"I know you do want to help. which is why it won't be an act."
She looked Anya dead in the eye and continued. "To help us keep the cover, you will have to buy multiple hybrids from that auction. Legally."
"WHAT?"
