BLOOPERS

Just thought this would be fun lol

Keira Knightley stood off-screen on a platform. The camera was pointed at the spot where she would land in a crouch. She was clad in the red suit of Susan Storm but was littered with blue dots, where the production team would edit her appearance. In order to give the effect of invisibility, the other cast would act as if they couldn't see her, and the team would make her disappear in the final project.

'Alright, Keira, you're jumping in three... two... one!'

The director's voice finished, and the actress jumped, her feet arriving in view of the camera. But as it went to pan up, her ankle jerked, and her figure followed it. Keira fell to the side and off screen, a light 'oof!' falling out of her mouth.

'Cut!' the director was heard far off from the camera that sat frozen. 'You alright?'

'Yeah, I'm fine!' Keira was heard from the floor. 'Would Susan even land that? I wouldn't...'

A few chuckles were heard, and Keira's shins filled the camera lens once more. As she climbed back up onto the platform, the camera returned to its starting position. Some discussion was heard before it went quiet, the director's voice calling for quiet on the set.

'Alright! Take two! Keira, in three... two... one!'

Feet landed in the shot and the camera panned up, before it settled on Keira's face. Her eyes stared off-screen at what would be the stage of the Stark Expo. She did her best to stay in character, her stare and parted lips lasting a solid three seconds. But her brown irises shifted and fixated on the camera lens and her lip twitched. She tried to save the shot, but a wheeze from off-screen broke the actress's impeccable acting efforts. Laughs ensued from everyone on set and Keira shook her head with a toothy grin.

'That's okay! I think we got it,' the director reassured, and Keira put her hands on her hips, her stare to the left of the set.

'It was Robert! I heard him before anyone else,' the camera was pulled away from Keira to be set up in the next shot. Robert Downey Jr. walked away from the set that was made to be the Stark Expo and called over his shoulder,

'Sorry! You looked like you were going to crack one anyway!'

The set of the battle in New York was made to look ruined and filled with debris. A green screen covered the back wall, which would show the street in its entirety with leviathans and Chitauri chariots.

Chris Evans turned to his cast members with his Captain America costume battered and covered in makeup to appear dirty. The camera shot was over his shoulder to show the rest of the cast who were equally as bruised with makeup. Chris Hemsworth stood with his hammer prop in hand and Jeremy Renner was beside him. Scarlett Johanson looked at Chris while Callum Turner and Keira waited for their lines that would follow. Mark Ruffalo's and Robert's presence would be edited in later, but they were present on the set off-screen.

'Alright, listen up,' Chris Evans read his lines. 'Until we can close that portal up there, we're gonna use containment. Barton, I want you on that roof, eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays. Stark, you got the perimeter with Storm-'

'Me?' Callum intervened.

'Of course, you!' Keira turned to who played her brother in the film. 'What good am I in the sky?'

'Who is this flaming man?' Chris Hemsworth boomed. 'Is he a witch like the disappearing wench?'

'Rench-rench-w-wrench?!' Keira spluttered before sighing and shaking her head. 'Sorry guys.'

The cast broke from their characters and laughed at their co-star's mess up. Callum swung his arms as he laughed and looked down to Keira, who repeated her line to herself to get it right. Chris Evans turned to the camera that was right in his face and grinned, his eyes disappearing and his white teeth gleaming. He didn't mind repeating the line, but he looked to the director, who gave him a nod to do it again.

'Keira! Wench!'

'I know what it is! I just can't get it out!' she called back to the director off-screen.

'It's alright,' Chris Hemsworth said from across the set, his Australian accent taking its place in his normal voice. 'It's a hard word.'

---

'Tony!'

'Sue!'

Keira ran across the set and leapt into Robert's awaiting arms. His arm was covered in white dots to be edited into the Iron Man arm and his temple was fake cut to dripple out fake blood. The scene was the reuniting of Sue and Tony in Iron Man 3 where Aldrich Killian has been revealed as the true Mandarin.

'You are unbelievable!' Keira pulled away and a clump of her hair dragged through Robert's beard. It entwined with the black hairs and Robert jerked his head away and blew his lips to rid them of the strands. But it was futile, and Keira broke out into laughter at her co-star's jerking head.

'Cut!' the director called.

'This damn-' Robert stepped away and the hairs set him free. 'I knew I couldn't save it.'

The scene was set in South Africa for Avengers: Age of Ultron. With the green screen in the back and the fake street running across the set, the camera's angle showed Chris Evans, Keira and Callum Turner. With Turner strung up in a harness for his flying scene, Chris and Keira were acting out the fight of Susan Storm's possession by the Scarlet Witch.

'Alright, Storm, I'm sorry about this one,' Chris said, and he threw his shield. It of course wasn't made of vibranium like the film portrayed, but it was still a light metal. The editing team would make it seem as if Steve Rogers threw the shield at Susan Storm, but this time around, it travelled across the set.

The arm bands slipped off Chris's forearm and it somehow spun into Keira's middle. The actor threw his gloved hands up to his mouth in shock. His eyes went wide as his co-star doubled over clutching her stomach and she let out a groan. The shield landed on the floor with a light clang and even Callum, who saw the event from his place up high, let out a gasp with his mouth agape.

'Oh, my god, I'm so sorry!' Chris took large strides across the set and stopped in front of Keira, his hand on her shoulder. He couldn't help but let out some laughs through the concern and glanced up to the team off-screen. One of the cast assistants appeared on camera as she crouched down next to the actress. With a headset on and a clipboard in hand, the woman mumbled something to Keira that couldn't be picked up by her microphone.

'Just some water, please,' Keira's small voice travelled into the microphone and the assistant scurried off to grab a water bottle. She returned seconds later, and Keira stood up straight as she took it gratefully.

'How could you do that, Chris?' Callum called down in a half-hearted accusing tone.

'I didn't mean to!' Chris cried with a glance up at Callum before looking down at Keira, who sipped at the bottle with a hand over her abdomen. He was too kind-hearted to walk away without knowing if he had severely hurt his co-star, but judging by her playful glare, he knew that Keira was okay.

'No wonder Captain America's single,' Keira said after gulping down some water. 'He throws his shield at their stomachs all day.'

'Yeah, he's old-fashioned,' Chris joked. 'Again, I'm sorry.'

'It's okay. You're good, Chris.'

The cast were gathered in the set of the Avengers Compound living space. As Robert stood in the kitchen area after delivering his line, Don Cheadle followed Chris Evans.

'I'm sorry. Steve, that, that is dangerously arrogant. This is the United Nations we're talking about. It's not the World Security Council, it's not SHIELD, it's not HYDRA.'

'Who says that the United Nations couldn't be infiltrated?' Callum said and silence ensued. He made sure to wait just in case, but when the set was awkwardly quiet for five seconds, he and the rest of the cast turned to Keira whose line was meant to follow.

'Keira, that's your line,' the director said off-screen, and the woman perked up. Her back straightened from its hunched posture and her eyes went wide, straining her neck to look at everyone on the set. A wrinkle of her nose made a few laughs echo from the cast, and she wiped at her nostrils with her finger.

'I'm sorry, I had a sneeze coming,' she sheepishly smiled. 'I was trying so hard to contain it.'

'Okay, from your line, Don,' the director called. 'Annddd... action!'

There had never been so many extras on set before. The battle of Wakanda used a green screen to portray the city behind them and a quarter of the CGIed army was present with the main cast members. Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Scarlett, Callum and Keira stood in a line at the front. They stared at the field that stretched onto the treeline and acted as if the army of Outriders were impending on the city.

Callum went to shift his weight onto his left leg, and he felt the brushy object that would be edited into Rocket, the smart-mouthed racoon. It was a black cluster of rough tinsel balled up on a stick which was held by a man crouched in a grey body suit. This was just to show what height Rocket would need to be in the scene, but the scratchy material made Callum look down and jump in surprise.

'Oh shit!' he cried, and everyone jumped, seeing him pull his hands into his chest in fright. Laughs broke out and the man holding the stick with the bushy material waved it around, pretending to attack Callum's legs. The actor shuffled away and bumped into Sebastian, who then shuffled into Keira. Through the laughter, Callum looked embarrassed at his actions and looked to the direction team off-screen.

'Do I have to be next to it?' he joked, and Sebastian stepped to be beside what would be Rocket instead.

'It's not real. None of it's real,' Keira insisted when Callum stood in the space next to her. She laughed at his curled lip at the thought of the bushy material.

'I know it's not. It just freaks me out-'

'Sorry, Callum, you have to go on the end,' a voice called from behind the camera. All the cast looked to the voice before back to Callum. Sebastian adjusted his grip on his large prop gun and went to switch places again.

'I've got to jump, haven't I?' Callum remembered once he was back in his place.

'Yeah, Johnny goes into the sky once Captain America follows Black Panther.'

'Alright, that's okay. I'll just... be here,' Callum eyed the object by his feet and tried to focus on remembering his script.

'Benedict! You're greeting Keira when she drops down. Then you're going back-to-back,' the director called to Benedict Cumberbatch. The actor was dressed in his Doctor Strange costume and was in the middle of scene of the battle against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.

The set was mostly green screen, but the floor was made to look like it was covered in fallen debris and small fires. Keira was strapped into a harness above Benedict with her face painted to look as if veins protruded from underneath her skin. With her red suit scuffed and dirty to appear as if in battle, Keira waited for the call and the drop of her suspenders to land next to Benedict.

'Annddd... action!'

Keira was dropped onto the set, and she landed with a bend of her knees. The harness stayed around her middle to be edited out in post-production, and she turned to Benedict whose line was first.

'Miss Storm,' he greeted.

'Good to have you back, Doctor-'

'Cut!'

Keira and Benedict turned to the director who had his clipboard in hand. He looked behind the two to where Robert and Chris Hemsworth were stood in front of the green screen. With Robert covered in the white dots to have his Iron Man suit edited on his body, Chris was in his Thor costume and his hammer prop in hand.

'Sorry, guys, Robert and Chris are on their phones in the background,' the director explained to Keira and Benedict and they turned to the culprits. Robert and Chris looked up from their phones and sheepishly put their devices back in their pockets.

'I apologise,' Chris's Australian accent flowed, and Robert gave a shrug.

'Yeah, sorry. You guys are doing great, though!' he pointed two fingers at Keira and Benedict and the two laughed.
