The Avengers travelled to the African coast in search of Ulysses Klaue. His salvage yard was on the outskirts of the closest major city, and the team parked their quinjet outside the large warehouse. They thought it was best for Bruce to stay in the aircraft and they would call for him if they needed a Code Green. Their earpieces were connected to the ship, so he would only be a call for help away. For extra protection, Sue volunteered to stay with him. If anyone could protect Bruce or protect others from Bruce, it would be her.

'I'm sure Tony talked to you about Ultron,' Bruce made small talk with the woman. They weren't the closest of friends, but they had a mutual friendship that was enough to instigate a conversation.

'It was never our intention to create what he is...'

'I know what Tony's like,' Sue sat on the floor of the hanger, one knee propped up with the other stretched out. 'His self-destructive tendencies have put us in some sticky situations. You're not bad in my books, Banner.'

'You'll be one of few, then,' Bruce chuckled.

'What do you mean? I've heard that Nat's lullabies work like a charm?'

'They do. I mean from the past,' Bruce smiled at the mention of Natasha's name.

'What you've done in the past is done,' Sue gave him a reassuring smile. 'I think saving the world a few times gives you an official pardon.'

The panel at the front of the quinjet screeched with noise and the two got to their feet. They headed to the intercom and heard clashes and gunfire, Bruce heading to the open ramp at the back. He looked to the Klaue's salvage yard and search for any commotion.

'Guys?! Is this a Code Green?!' Bruce yelled back to the panel.

'Johnny? Tony? Do you need us?' Sue tried but there was no answer.

'Should we help?' Bruce turned and looked to Sue. She wasn't sure if it would disrupt the plan if they headed in guns blazing, but from the sounds of it, the battle inside was heated.

In sight of the quinjet, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff appeared from a silver blur. The silver-haired Sokovian zoomed his sister out of the salvage yard as Clint planted an electric arrow onto Wanda's head. The shock was painful, and the sensation lingered under her eyes. She winced while Pietro held her shoulders and looked down at his twin.

'What can I do?' Pietro asked worriedly.

'Ah, it hurts,' Wanda winced.

'I'm gonna kill him. I'll be right back.'

'No. I'm over it. I want...I want to finish the plan,' Wanda opened her eyes and looked at the quinjet, where Bruce looked out anxiously. 'I want the big one.'

The twins watched as Sue walked out to stand beside Bruce, the two conversing for a moment before walking back into the hanger. Pietro raised an eyebrow at the woman, before he turned to Wanda who smirked at the unexpected appearance of Susan Storm.

'What about her?' Pietro asked.

'Even Better. Stark's lover.'

Tony cornered Ultron and prepared to use his repulsors to destroy his current host. Ultron was unbothered as he could simply transfer to another robot of his making. But through Tony's urge to make things right, he fired up and looked at Ultron through his mask.

'You're not going anywhere,' he said, and Ultron smirked.

'Of course not, I'm already there. You'll catch on. But first, you might need to catch Dr. Banner. I'm sure you wouldn't want him and Susan Storm to cause a havoc.'

Through his rage, Tony fired his repulsor and flew off to head towards the quinjet. He couldn't monitor Sue's suit without JARVIS, so whatever Ultron knew, Tony had no choice but to believe. If one of the robots had gotten to the quinjet, there was no telling what could happen with Bruce involved. Or worse, if the mind-twisting witch got to him, there were going to be casualties.

'Johnny?! I think the witch has gotten to Banner and Sue,' Tony called through his suit. He spotted the quinjet below and initiated a quick scan for inhabitants. When it came back with nothing, he headed towards the closest city and called for a search of the keyword 'Hulk'.

'Son of a bitch. I'm bringing cap with me on this one,' Johnny informed through his earpiece. 'I'm not taking Sue on alone. I'll need someone who can pack a punch.'

While Tony flew into the chaos that was Bruce as The Hulk, Johnny flared up with Steve in his hold. Captain America's vibranium shield was indestructible against Johnny's flames, so the two worked together with Johnny holding one end, and Steve hanging from the other. Johnny's trail of inferno burned through the city's sky, and Steve was trying to rid himself of the vision Wanda Maximoff had shown him back in the salvage yard.

'You okay down there, cap?!' Johnny called down through the wind.

'I've been better!' Steve yelled up, his brow slick with sweat from Johnny's radiating heat. 'Could you slow it down it a little?!'

Johnny ignored the man as they flew low through the buildings of the city. Civilians ran and screamed from Bruce, who threw cars in a confused rage and ploughed through skyscrapers. Tony called upon VERONICA to try and contain him, but it was proving to be difficult.

'There! I see her!' Steve pointed to the street ahead.

Stumbling through the crowds that ran past her, Sue was deep in her head as the red took over. As if drunk, her feet fell in front of the other and her hands clenched at her head. A tickle fiddled with her brain and the swirl of scarlet danced with her consciousness. Her vision buzzed with crimson in the corners and the street ahead of her was a spiral of people, cars and grey buildings.

Johnny descended to the road and Steve jumped down, using his shield to cushion the fall and ducked into a roll. Johnny kept his arms ignited as his feet touched the tar of the street. People spared them glances, but were more afraid of the green monster that raged only two streets away. Johnny and Steve stood tall and observed Sue, who was yet to turn around.

'Sue!' Johnny called. 'Sue, whatever the witch showed you, it's not real!'

Sue whipped around, her shoulders slightly hunched and her feet slipping from under her. She was able to catch herself and jerked her head in all directions, occasionally resting on the two men who stood five metres away. The usually calm and witty woman was filled with jitters and hallucinations. Wanda Maximoff played with her fears and sent the Storm into a trance. While Bruce raged from what she planted into his head, Sue was afraid and anxious.

'Her eyes...' Steve said, the red glow visible even from their distance. Her usual brown irises were stained by the red menace. Her teeth clenched and her breaths puffed out in bursts.

'Susie!' Johnny tried again, and Sue's gaze traced to sit on him permanently. 'It's not real! Try to-'

A sphere of blue collided with Johnny's arm that he raised to block. His flames clashed with the near invisible force and the strike dissolved, but another was sent his way. Sue's form glitched in and out of sight, her ability to control the weakness loose from the interference from the Maximoff twin. But her production of spheres, disks and spikes was as quick as ever.

Steve held up his shield, a spike dissolving as it collided with the vibranium. But he was surprised at how its impact sent his feet skidding across the road. Gravel kicked up to his ankles and his soles grew hot from the friction. He knew Sue was powerful, but to send him backwards when his shield took the hit, he admitted he underestimated The Invisible Woman.

'I can't hit her, cap,' Johnny said, his flames engulfing him and his suit. 'But I can distract her. Can you hold her off?'

'I wouldn't usually hit a lady,' Steve grunted as a disk took out his feet. His weight pulled him down to the road and his shield made a loud clatter. His arm bent at an unnatural angle, and he winced at the pain that shot from it, his shins stinging from the transparent disk.

'But I'll make an exception this time around.'

Johnny jumped into the air and Sue watched him, her eyes swimming with crazy. He didn't want to hurt his sister, so he dodged a wave of transparency that she sent up to him by flying to his right. He circled around and Sue threw her hands up, a forcefield beginning to form around her. But when Johnny sent a flash of fire that was enough to blind her momentarily. She let out a yelp and the unfinished barrier diminished, her hands reaching to cover her eyes instead.

Steve took the opportunity to run forward, his shield in front and his eyes scrunched shut from the shame of hurting his teammate. Sue blinked away the bright flares and was met with the red, white and blue that crashed into her. She grunted and fell backwards, the impact landing her on her back. Steve held his shield on one arm and raised his fist, dropping to one knee. He aimed for her temple with the intent of knocking her out as painlessly as possible. But she brought her knees up to her chest and kicked Steve, her strength winding him. He gasped and stumbled back, a hand to his breast where a bruise would soon form. Sue leapt to her feet and threw her head forward to send another wave of invisibility. The wave hit Steve and his feet skidded once more, the gravel stabbing at his calves as they kicked up from the road.

'Sue!' Johnny cried from above, sending flares to blind her. 'Snap out of it! I don't want to hurt you!'

His words fell on deaf ears and Sue expanded a dome from within her, knocking Johnny out of the sky. His resistance in hurting her was his downfall and he crashed into the building to his left, a hole forming in the shape of his back. The force diminished and Johnny pushed himself out of the brick, the ache in his shoulders making him groan aloud.

'Alright, Storm, I'm sorry about this one,' Steve sighed and ran at her, twisting around to propel his shield. He released it and it spun towards Sue, her hand engulfed with blue as she sent it into the building to the left. It wedged into a corner and while Sue made sure it wasn't coming back, Steve planted his fist into the side of her face.

The woman jerked to the right at the punch and Steve felt his chest ache when his knuckles bruised her pale cheek. While she was disorientated, he planted his foot into her stomach and sent her to the ground. While she was winded, Steve administered the final blow. Her temple split at the punch that met her temple and blood trickled down her cheekbone.

'That's brutal,' Johnny floated down to be next to his teammate. Sue's eyes cleared, the red fading and her control regained. But her eyelids fell shut, and her head laid back, unconscious but was Susan Storm once more.

'Never ask me to help you fight your sister again,' Steve panted, the shame of hitting a woman, his teammate at that, staining him forver.
