Loki sensed the stare and lifted his gaze to meet hers. She crossed her arms over her chest and tried to work out anything from his expression. His blue eyes pierced through her and he looked like he was searching for something. Something to use against her.

'Fury didn't tell me he was calling you in,' Steve's voice broke Sue out of her staring contest with Loki and turned to the two men beside her.

'There's a lot of things Fury doesn't tell you. Sue and I are a package deal. You get her, you get me. Not sure why she's so indemand,' Tony motioned to Sue. 'Guess that didn't happen a lot in your time. Bit more advanced now with the whole equality thing.'

'Tony,' Sue spoke with a stern tone, sending him a glare. The man opened his mouth to protest but knew better, closing it and turning back to the cockpit in a mood. Steve saw how Sue was able to tolerate and even control Tony. He didn't know how but it made him feel better that Tony Stark wasn't a complete ass to everyone.

'So, uh... you came back to Earth in an emergency shuttle?' Steve started small talk with the woman he barely knew. He saw how delighted Bruce Banner was to meet her and he was sure he had seen her face on some news articles a few times. But other than that, he didn't know anything about the woman in the red suit.

'Yeah,' she replied. 'Hit with a cosmic wave. Changed a lot of my life.'

Steve saw how Sue pursed her lips after speaking. It was an obvious struggle to talk on the topic, so he decided to leave it at that.

A sudden clap of thunder and lightening lit up the sky. The quinjet shook at the boom and Sue held on to a hanging loop from the ceiling to steady herself. Tony and Steve's feet stayed rooted to floor and the two looked around, Steve catching sight of Loki looking up with a worried look.

'What's the matter? Scared of a little lightening?' Steve asked.

'I'm not overly fond on what follows,' Loki spoke for the first time.

A loud bang was heard from the roof, and everyone looked up, hearing loud footsteps lead to the back of the jet. The ramp was pulled open, and a man walked in with long, blonde hair and with a red cape flowing behind him. Everyone watched as he grabbed Loki by the neck and walked back to the ramp. He spun the large hammer that was in his hand before it pulled the two out into the night air, leaving the jet's inhabitants dumbfounded.

'Did everyone else see that?' Sue questioned in shock and pointed her finger to open ramp.

'Another Asgardian?' Natasha asked from the front seat. The jet's balance had been thrown off by the arrival of another demi-god and Natasha was flipping switches to try and level it out.

'Think the guy's friendly?' Steve asked over the noise of the howling wind from outside.

'Doesn't matter,' Tony answered as his helmet came back from his suit and his mask fell shut over his face. 'If he frees Loki or kills him, the Tesseract's lost. I'm gonna need your help on this one, Storm.'

Sue tried not to appear giddy. Tony walked to the open ramp and prepared to take flight, knowing Sue could land safely on her own. Steve looked at the two ready to jump and tried to coerce them back.

'We need a plan of attack!'

'I have a plan,' Tony said and glanced over his shoulder. 'Attack.'

Tony fired up his repulsors and zoomed into the clouds. Sue looked at Steve with an apologetic look at their brash actions but jumped out with a gasp of her breath. She fell through the sky, trying hard not to notice how quickly the forest below was rushing up to her. She had to push away the fear of heights for now and focus on her landing that she'd been practising to be smooth. Tony insisted she'd find a way to fall safely since he couldn't guarantee he was always going to be around to catch her. He had suggested altering her suit to have some sort of flight or gliding capability, but Sue was adamant she could figure something out.

Gathering her strength and initiating the surge of chill from her cells, Sue put her hands out in front of her and created a sphere around her. The familiar blue sheen shimmered as she entered the tree line and prepared for the collision she hoped would be soft. Branches broke and leaves were rustled as the sphere fell through and froze just above the forest floor. Sue let out a shaky breath as the sphere dissolved and her feet touched the ground.

A few metres away, Tony and the Asgardian stood facing each other. They were ready to fight and Tony was ready to win.

'Do not touch me again!' the blonde man seethed.

'Then don't take my stuff.'

Tony poked fun at the demi-god while Sue entered the clearing the two stood in. She was out of the newcomer's sight and she sunk into her invisible state. Master at being light-footed, she circled around the scene as the Asgardian threw his large hammer and sent Tony flying in his suit. He disappeared through the treeline and Sue powered her energy to her hands, producing spheres of shimmering blue.

Launching the spheres from the man's right, they collided with his chest and sent him back a few metres. His feet stayed firm and created tracks in the dirt. He was bewildered at where the power came from and looked around, his hammer raised and ready to swing. Sue ran across in front of him and launched disks in curves, watching them pound into the demi-god. He attempted to swing his hammer at the invisible disks, but only managed to dissolve one as he couldn't see them.

'What is this magic?!' he cried into the night, searching furiously for the invisible force.

Tony appeared from the trees and fired shots from his repulsors. He couldn't see where Sue was but assumed she was nearby and succeeding in disorientating their opponent. Her vitals beeped on his screen, and he was sure to keep an eye on it as the Asgardian threw his hammer at him. But a barrier saw that the hammer only collided with it before retreating to its owner.

Tony and Sue worked together against the man. Sue threw spheres and disks as she ran back and forth to throw him off, while Tony fired his repulsors and dealt with the combat. When needed, Sue stood back and worked on creating forcefields around her partner. This bewildered the demi-god and he couldn't understand how his hammer bounced off something he couldn't see.

'Hey!'

A disk flew and bounced between Tony and the man's chest, before returning to its owner. The three looked up and saw Captain America stood on top of a fallen tree. He caught his red, white and blue-stripped shield and attached it to his arm. Sue took the moment to appear at the scene and relished in how the demi-god opposite her jumped in surprise. His eyes narrowed before turning back to Steve who jumped down to be on the same level.

'That's enough! Now, I don't know what you plan on doing here-'

'I've come here to put an end to Loki's schemes!' the demi-god insisted.

'Then prove it,' Steve held out a cautious hand. 'Put the hammer down.'

'Um, yeah, no! Bad call! He loves his hammer!'

Sue didn't have the time to create a barrier as the hammer met Tony's chest and sent him flying through the trees again.

'You want me to put the hammer down?!'

The man jumped into the air with the hammer raised and aimed down at Steve. The soldier raised his shield and hid behind it, facing the colours up to the impact of the weapon. Sue saw only light as she held a dome of energy around her in protection. The explosion wiped out trees within a mile radius and shook the forcefield Sue held around her.

When the light cleared, Tony got up from his place under some bark and headed back to where Steve stood with his equal. They looked between each other as the tension died down at the burst of power that wiped out everything around them.

'Are we done here?' Steve didn't need his question asked.

As Sue waited for Tony to exit his suit, she inspected the black gloves on her hands. They were back on SHIELD's helicarrier and were called to the main control room by Director Fury. In the meantime, Tony was setting his suit back into the display case he had brought with him to reassure his pride was still protected.

The way she performed in the battle with who they learnt with Thor Odinson, was her best work so far. All the things she practiced in training were performed as perfectly as she hoped. The fall from the jet, the invisibility, the spheres and disks she fired like bullets, it all made her feel strong and powerful.

'You did great today, by the way,' Tony said and Sue looked up from her hands. 'Those frisbees were solid and Point Break didn't know what hit him.'

'He still doesn't know what hit him. I plan to scare him a little more,' Sue admitted, and Tony smirked. He loved the way how he saw himself more and more in Sue. She wasn't as reserved as when they first met, and she was an amazing partner. She was quick, light on her feet, and most of all, still effecting his heart.

Tony was smitten by Sue. It pained him to admit it, but he had never felt like this for anyone before. There were countless women he threw away in his past, but Sue was someone that he cared for immensely. Whenever JARVIS informed him that her heartrate had dropped even a little, he would call Sue to ask what she was up to. Even if she said she was just taking a nap, he would always make sure if she was okay.

He still hadn't found the time or courage to admit his soft spot for her. Her developing abilities never ceased to amaze him and the way she looked when she battled with him was unbelievably attractive. Sue was a beauty that no one could compare to. And Tony would one day let her know that.

'Let's make our grand entrance,' Tony suggested, and he led the way with Sue following behind him.
