The TV displayed the news report of the incident that happened only a few days ago in central Malibu. Businessman Obadiah Stane was said to have had a brawl with who they were calling Iron Man. The name was fitting for the red and gold suit that was seen flying around the city and appearing in the Middle East to defend against terrorists.

'Truth is.... I am Iron Man,' Tony Stark said through the TV at his press conference. The buzz of reporters was droned out by the news reporter narrating from the studio.

Susan Storm sat on the sofa with her legs up next to her and her laptop on her thighs. She paused her work to watch the report unfold about Tony Stark being the newest superhero. The genius was never short of the limelight, but it was a shock for the world to hear that he was inside the suit that possessed technology the world had never seen.

'The talk of a new superhero has brought discussion about what was said to have been the failure of the Marvel-1 mission,' the news reporter leaned on his desk in the studio as a picture of the rocket Marvel-1 appeared in a box next to him. 'With Susan Storm being the only survivor of the mission, the cosmic rays that were rumoured to have hit the vessel, have said to have caused a mutation in Miss Stor-'

The word 'MUTE' appeared on the screen as Susan put down the remote control. She let out a sigh and looked away from the TV to her laptop. The report she was attempting to complete sat with one measly paragraph. It was difficult to start and even more to continue. It wasn't easy to right an official statement about the happenings of the Marvel-1 mission.

'On July 13th, the crew of the Marvel-1 rocket were hit by a storm that contained cosmic radiation. The storm was unseen by the pilot's radars, and the effects were fatal when not protected by radiation gear. At the time, Susan Storm was planting radioactive batteries into the hold for proper storage. But Dr. Reed Richards, Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm-'

Susan closed her laptop. It was still too much to bare. The report would have to be finished by her assistant and published at a later date. The tears that dribbled from her eyes didn't surprise her and she raised her hand to wipe them away, only to find her sleeve with nothing in it.

She stared for a moment as her forefinger appeared as well as her thumb. Soon, the rest of her hand was visible and she able to wipe her eyes. Susan was yet to learn to withhold the effect of her emotions on her abilities, but she found sadness, embarrassment and anger to be the most provocative.

The TV continued wordlessly as Susan stood up from the sofa and walked over to the hallway table. Above it was a mounted mirror that showed her reflection. Her hair that was once blonde was now a dark brown, an effect of the cosmic rays. Her eyes were glossy from the tears and her cheeks were flushed. She was surprised at the ability to see herself in the mirror judging by her lack of control from when her emotions were unhinged.

On the hallway table was a picture frame that held a photo of her and her brother, Johnny. Taking the photo into her hand, she brought it up to her face to see it up close. She stood smiling brightly, her blonde hair glowing in the sunshine. Johnny had his arm around her shoulders and displayed his close-lipped smile. He was always a charmer who was too cool to smile properly in photos. Always the cooler Storm, as Ben Grimm would say.

Ever since being back on Earth, Susan found it difficult to live with the fact that her brother and friends were gone. The effects of the cosmic rays were something she still couldn't explain, and the death of Reed, Ben and Johnny were affecting her daily. Sometimes, she wished she hadn't survived. The reporters harassed her nonstop about what happened and journeys outside her house had become non-existent. Instead, she used her spare time to go to Reed's old lab. It was the only thing that kept her sane.

She spent so much time with Reed before the mission, that she had found an interest in science. Venturing into space had come from Reed's study into outer-space contact and into parallel universes. During his study, Susan joined him in experiments and research, becoming somewhat of an expert in the sciences. So much so, that in Reed's passing, Sue took over the company that he created for his research and inventions. The business was in limbo after Reed's death, but Sue felt obliged to take over. While the company near enough ran itself besides a few contracts to be signed and authorising of procedures, Sue struggled to find things to do.

Sue had discovered her strange abilities when crying about the loss of her brother and friends. Her sleeves were found empty of her hands, yet she could still feel them as if they were there. She looked in the mirror and found nothing but the collar of her shirt. She had disappeared, yet was present.

It was a shock at first, of course. But after some of her own research into what happened on the Marvel-1, she was able to conclude that the storm that killed Reed, Ben and Johnny, had given her some sort of powers. And seeing as it was only her body that she could make invisible, she would need a form of suit. A suit that adapted to her abilities.

But she wasn't as intelligent as Reed. She didn't know the first thing about chemistry that involved outer space energy, or whatever it truly was that made her this way. But maybe someone else would know. Someone who was America's newest hero.

The streets of Malibu were teeming as Sue drove to the biggest house on the coast. She had found Tony Stark's address from an old friend of Reed's who had some connections with Tony. She wore a button-up white shirt and blue skinny jeans with sunglasses covering her eyes. Her Audi followed the long driveway that encircled a water feature that she was sure cost a fortune.

It had been a while since she left her house publicly in Malibu, as the reporters were almost always on her tail. Luckily, they didn't know where she lived, and they didn't know where Tony Stark lived. Sue felt relieved that she wouldn't have to deal with microphones and cameras in her face for once.

She climbed out of her car once it was parked and headed up to the front door with a briefcase in hand. The double doors were huge and made of a lightwood, only the best for Tony Stark. She pressed an extravagant doorbell that lit up in an electric blue when pressed, and she took her sunglasses off as she waited while the chime echoed through the house.

The door to the left was pulled open and a woman with light, orange hair answered. She wore a pencil skirt with a dark blue button-up, her feet in high heels that Sue was sure were LouBoutins.

'Miss Potts,' Sue smiled warmly and stuck out her hand to the woman. Everyone knew about Stark's assistant, Pepper Potts. 'I'm Susan Storm.'

'Yes, I know who you are,' Pepper smiled with a slight confusion in her eyes. 'The reporters love Mr Stark almost as much as they love you right now.'

'We're certainly hot topics,' Sue let out a forced laugh with her words and Pepper noticed immediately. She felt sorry for the woman who had gone into space with a team of three but returned solo in an emergency deployed shaft.

'Please, come in,' Pepper stood to the side and Sue shuffled her way through into the large lobby. She looked around at the high ceilings and expensive furniture that sat against the walls. Even with Stark Industries shutting down their weapons department, Tony Stark wasn't short of money.

'I'm sorry to burst in on you like this,' Sue said as Pepper appeared next to her. 'I'm not even sure if Mr Stark will see me. But he's the only one I know who...'

Sue didn't know how to finish. Everyone knew that Susan Storm has been MIA for some time after arriving back on Earth. Pepper had heard about the travesty that happened above the Earth's atmopshere and could only image the toll the whole situation has had on Sue Storm.

'I'll see if Mr Stark is available to see you,' Pepper gave her the benefit of the doubt. She knew Sue was no reporter or wasn't here for any business proposals. She decided to give Sue a chance, even if Tony Stark wasn't ready to.

Pepper showed Sue into the living room which overlooked the ocean. The floor to ceiling windows covered the entire wall that faced out onto the blue mass. Pepper even made Sue a cup of tea before leaving to find Mr Stark. Sue watched as Pepper descended the stairs that encircled a large chandelier and disappeared with her heels clicking against each step.

Peeling her eyes from the monumental house, Sue brought the briefcase on to her lap and unclipped the locks. Inside, sat a royal blue material that she had been working on in Reed's lab. Tony Stark was the child genius who took over his father's company and his brains. If anyone would know how to create a suit that would adapt to out-of-this-world abilities, it would be him.
