Do You Have to Go? (Genshin Impact)
「 Kaeya Alberich x Traveler Stari 」
This one-shot was originally in a fic You Are My Entire World which was a one-shot book I made with two one-shots based on Stardew Valley and Genshin Impact. While it is not based around Pretty Boy (which may not be relevant at the moment because it probably hasn't been published yet) it is the one-shot that inspired that fic. Enjoy!

It was night in Mondstadt by the time Honorary Knight Stari, Knight of Favonious Kaeya, Outrider Amber and Librarian Lisa returned from an afternoon of slaying monsters in the nearby area to help clear the roads for travel after Duvalin's defeat.
Lisa and Amber said their goodbyes, heading towards the Knights of Favonious building but Stari stayed with Kaeya so they could get a drink and relax. Out of everyone, Stari seemed to be getting the closest with Kaeya. She tried to remind herself to chat with everyone she brought alone but Kaeya was the one person who fascinated her.
"So, what do you want to drink?" The bartender, Charles, asked as the two adventurers entered.
"I'd like a Wolfhook please. Kaeya?" Stari stated, turning to her companion. He gives his order-Afternoon Death, his favorite drink from Angel's Share-and they then sat down. Stari let out a sigh and slumped into her chair.
"Tired?" Kaeya asked and she nodded, stretching her arms over her head.
"Yeah. Beating all those hichurhils wiped me out!" Kaeya slightly chuckles at that and nods in agreement as a waitress brings over their drinks.
"So um... what are you going to do after this?" Stari attempts to make it casual, but her heart is beating as fast as a flying hummingbird.
"Probably going to go back to headquarters and go to bed. You?"
"Oh... um... yeah. I'll probably go get some shut eye as well."
"Mm." He hums non-committedly and takes a sip of his drink. Stari also takes a sip of hers, attempting to drown out the awkwardness she caused.
After a few moments of peaceful quiet, Stari spoke again,
"Do you want to take a walk? After we're done, that is. I...I want to talk to you about something."
"Sure. I've got nothing else to do-unless Jean decides to hand me some paperwork this late at night." Stari laughs at that, finally feeling at ease, and smiles slightly at Kaeya.

They said goodbye to Patton, still dutifully standing at the door, before making their way towards the entrance of Mondstadt.
"So," Kaeya asks once they are away near the river a few feet from the city's walls, "what did you want to talk about it?" Stari looks out into the water, thinking about what to say next-she wanted to choose her words very carefully, fearing about scaring off someone she had come to call a friend.
"I... you may not like what I have to say...but I'm just going to say it." She begins, turning towards Kaeya who looks a little confused.
"Um... alright?"
"I like you. I consider you a friend now, but lately I've been feeling... more. I see myself seeking to please you and earn your approval more and I... well, I was wondering if we could be more than friends?"
It's quiet again as Kaeya looks at Stari, seeming to deep in thought and then he moves closer to her and takes her hands in his and smirking.
"If I kissed you right now, would you say no?" Stari stares at him wordlessly and then nods. It happened so quickly, but for a moment it seemed as though the world had disappeared and it was just them.
Then it was over and the two of them could breath.
"That... that felt nice." Stari admits, running a hand through Kaeya's hair, as they smile at each other.
"I didn't think you felt the same way." Kaeya says, seeming to be shy for what Stari thinks is the first time she's seen him.
"I didn't either." They share a laugh.
"If you're not busy tomorrow, you could come by the headquarters and pay me a visit." Stari is about to reply but then she frowns and steps back, turning away.
"What's wrong?" Kaeya asks, voicing dripping with concern. Stari sighs and turns towards them.
"I forgot... I'm going to Liyue to look for my brother. Venti mentioned a god that appears once every year to grant a wish and I want to see if he can help. Paimon and I told Amber this morning."
"Oh... oh."
"I'm sorry." Stari says quietly, looking down in shame, hugging her arms to her chest.
"Hey." She looks up and Kaeya closes the distance between them again, "it's going to be okay. You'll come back, right?"
"Well... yeah, but I don't know how long it will take and-" Stari sighs, exasperated.
"It's ok. We can make this work." She looks at Kaeya as he wipes her tears away and kisses her forehead.
"Yeah... yeah. You're right. We can make this work." She smiles once more.
"Good. Now... it's getting late. I think we should go back into the city." Stari nods in agreement and they enter hand in hand.
Kaeya guides her to her temporary quarters in the Knights of Favonious' headquarters and they stop.
"I'll see you off in the morning."
"Alright. Goodnight, Kaeya."
"Goodnight, Stari." He replies as the couple slowly let go of each other's hand.

One Month Later...
Stari and Paimon did not find as much success as they had hoped. So, they returned to the first place that took them on this journey: Mondstadt. However, when she entered, Stari was surprised to find Amber rushing up to her.
"STARI!" Before she could say anything, Amber wrapped her in a big hug.
"Heh. Hi Amber! How are you?"
"I'm doing good-I saw you coming up the hill and just had to greet you. Did Liyue get you closer to finding your brother??"
"No, unfortunately. I met many interesting people and saw some interesting things but... still haven't found my brother." Stari explains sadly and Amber nods sympathetically.
"How long are you staying?"
"I'm not sure yet. Me and my Paimon were thinking of staying a few months to help you and-"
"Stari?!" A very familiar voice calls out. Amber turns to him.
"Oh! Hey Kaeya. I thought Jean wanted you to do something?" Stari doesn't say anything, just stares at him wordlessly.
"I just finished. Um... Amber, could I talk to Stari alone?"
"Sure! No problem." Amber waves goodbye to Stari and sets off to talk to Katharyne at the Adventurer's Guild reception.
"Thanks."
"Hi."
"Hi... I've missed you." Stari says, smiling.
"I missed you too. Did you find what you were looking for in Liyue?"
"No, I was just telling Amber I was out of luck."
"I'm sorry." Kaeya says sympathetically.
"It's alright. But uh... in the meantime, I'm going to help out around here for a few weeks or...maybe a few months." Kaeya smiles when Stari says this and bows to her, taking her hand and kissing it with a dramatic flourish.
"It'd be my honor to help you in any way I can, miss." Stari blushes and looks away.
"Kaeya... please! There's people around."
"Since when did you care about that?" He asks, raises an eyebrow with a smirk. She matches his expression and sighs dramatically.
"Yes, I suppose you're right." To prove her point, she kisses his cheek.
"You're right...I don't care at all." They smile fondly at each other before walking hand in hand around Mondstadt, only having eyes for each other.

Final Notes
Context:
•This one shot is slightly spoilery as it's set around the time of the Chapter Three Prologue in the game so I'm sorry if you're not that far yet. It just some events are briefly mentioned so I thought I'd warn you all <3
•This will end happily, I promise lol
•Stari is my protagonist, I just really like the name ^^
-Reference photo:
•As I said, I like the fact that Genshin Impact doesn't have romance options but I also slightly dislike because well... Kaeya is cute and I want to get to know him more in a more romantic sense but I can't because there's only brief hints of that and-
Well, you get the point. I have a problem lol
