"What was the other colony like?" Asked Ruby.

"It used to be a peaceful settlement until the United Rebel Front came and took significant parts of the planet. These guys hate the U.N.S.C and would stop at nothing to see it burned to the ground." Explained Nightmare.

-=June 12th, 2552, 14:23 hours=-

The pelican we were in was silent, the only thing you could hear was the engines of the pelican. There was a bit of turbulence entering the atmosphere and the pilot gets on the inner com.

"ETA two minutes, Spartan, I'd get your team ready." The pilot said.

The holographic table floated down and several images appeared. Nightmare had this all planned out in his mind, it was simple but could strike a blow against these rebels.

"Here's the plan. Data package we got from the U.N.S.C tell us that these insurgents here took over a U.N.S.C military base in the Üshtar Providence two days ago. Problem is, we have no idea what the base looks or what kind of fire power these assholes are packing, so we're going to have to scout on foot." Nightmare laid out the plan while Hardcase and Shadow readied up. Shadow needed to ask a question about the plan that made her curious and it was something that she knew would help out the team.

"What about satellite surveillance? Would it not make this easier if we had eyes in the sky?" Shadow asked.

"That's the bad part, recent solar storms have made our satellites unreliable. Even the ships orbiting the planet are having a hard time seeing anything." Nightmare stated. He knew that they would have to do this the old fashioned way.

The pilot went over the inner com and said that they were at the drop zone. The three Spartans jumped and spread out across the field.

"Clear. What about you guys?" Nightmare called out to his team.

"Clear on my end. Shadow?" Hardcase answered over the radio.

"I'm clear." Shadow replied with her DMR in hand.

The group met back with each other and army crawled their way to the vantage point so they could see the military base from a distance. Nightmare used his sniper scope to get a better view of what they were dealing with.

"The base has a sniper tower on each corner of the massive wall. I can't see behind it though." Nightmare was telling to his team what he saw that they couldn't see very well. Hardcase pointed out one very important detail.

"Hey, they got ground vehicles going across the bridge." He reported.

"We can use that to our advantage. Shadow you think you can use your mag boots to walk under the bridge to get across without being spotted?" Nightmare asked her.

"I brought an active camo unit. The tricky part is getting to the bridge. The camo takes up a lot of my suits energy, it'll only last me about a minute before having to recharge. Mag boots on the other hand don't take up that much energy. As soon as I get my suits energy back up I can get across." She was smart. She knew a lot about the armor functions and how that would effect her during combat. Hardcase proposed another part of the plan.

"They have some pretty heavy armament. Rocket warthogs can tear us to pieces. If they manage to bring in tanks we should plant explosive charges across the bridge to make sure they don't bring anything of that scale to reinforce them." Hardcase proposed.

"I like it. We'll have to use it as a last resort incase we need to. If we're getting this base back into U.N.S.C control we should at least try to leave the base intact so that when they do get here they won't have a hell of a hard time getting troops in." Nightmare said. It was all coming together, like pieces solving a puzzle.

"Shadow, take these." Hardcase handed her C4's to plant across the bridges weak points. "Be careful alright?" Hardcase said.

"I will." Said Shadow. They've known each other for a long time. Long before Nightmare ever showed up so he could see the bond that they share with each other.

Shadow made her way to the bridge cloaked and managed to slip under the bridge without being detected. There was a small part of the bridge she could stand on to let her suits energy recharge. When that was done she used her mag boots to walk along the underside of the bridge. The enormous height down to the ravine floor made her nervous but also made her realize that she needed to plant the charges fast. She made it to the other side and made it onto another part to where she could stand again to recharge. The sniper had a clear view of the bridge and Shadow needed enough time to get in the base with her cloaking.

"Nightmare, could use a hand getting rid of the sniper near my position, I'll need enough time to slip by." Shadow stated, staring right at the sniper from under the bridge.

"Roger that, got him in my sights. You'll have to hurry and get us visuals. Can't see a damn thing beyond that wall." Nightmare said as he put a silencer on his sniper. He took the shot taking out the guard on the tower.

"That was easily two thousand yards. Guess your file doesn't lie." Hardcase said.

"Mmm, at least twenty five hundred." Nightmare replied.

"Show off." Hardcase replied back.

"Shadow, got a warthog coming across, the gates opening." Nightmare told shadow over the radio.

"I copy. Heading inside now. Wish me luck boys." Shadow cloaked and slipped past the gate and sending visual feed to her two teammates heads up displays.

"Alright, I think we're ready. Ready to make some noise?" Nightmare asked.

"Dude, I'm always ready." Hardcase primed his rocket launcher and while that was happening Shadow hit one of the gas tanks getting the rebels distracted. Nightmare and Hardcase hijacked a warthog and made their way across the bridge, but before they could make it the gate started to close and they bailed making it over the gate and crashing the warthog into it. It was complete chaos in the base. Nightmare got on one of the watch towers and it was at that moment he needed to detonate the C4 under the bridge.

"Ahh crap, they got tanks, three of them!" Nightmare reported.

"Need me to detonate?" Hardcase asked.

"No, wait till they get on the bridge. I'll signal you." Nightmare waited until the tanks got onto the bridge, which they did, not knowing the surprise that was waiting for them.

"Now!" Just then Hardcase hit the detonator and the charges exploded, making the bridge under the tanks crumble and fall, taking the rebels' only heavy armor with it. After the chaos ended, the team regrouped with each other, exhausted from the fight that just took place.

"Well... that was a thing." Shadow said, out of breath. Same could said about her teammates.

"Yep, very explosive, very adrenaline rushing thing." Nightmare replied. U.N.S.C troops came in by air via falcons and pelicans. Lieutenant Commander James Gregory came up to the Spartans.

"Spartans, I'm Lieutenant Gregory, I'm here on behalf of Colonel Holland." He said.

"Well, if you hear from him tell him we got it done. I'm sure we've got a lot more to do. Oh umm... sorry about the bridge, they had tanks and if they got in, they would've probably killed us." Nightmare replied.

"Well then, I'm going to inspect the damage and I'll report to Holland, good day Spartans." Gregory said before walking away. They had a lot more ground to cover if they are to get the planet back into U.N.S.C control.

"Wow Chelchis, 1,290 words, a new record!" Nightmare said.

"I know right? I feel proud of myself." I replied.

"You done gloating yet?" Carol asked.

"I'm not gloating, it's an accomplishment." I told her.

"Hey Carol, wanna hit the gym and away from this madness?" David asked.

"Yes, please." She replied.

"Wait, aren't you supposed to be dead?" Ruby cut into this conversation.

"Hey, can't a girl cheat death for once, I know Agent Coulson did with whatever Jesus juice Fury gave him." Carol said.

"And I thought you were just a figment of my imagination. There's no GH-325 involved, I let you come in this because it wouldn't be complete without you here." I said to her.

"Whatever, come on David, let's go." Carol said.

"Well this is awkward." Nightmare said.

"I couldn't agree more." I said back.
