"My prince"

The Blonde looked up from his position from looking over the kingdom that he'll soon have to rule. He nodded at the Bulter who had been sent up by his parents to get him, the Bulter bowed and walked out quietly shutting the door.

The blonde stood up and patted down the clothes he had to wear. They were soft against his skin, they were made out of cotton and silk. He looked at himself in the mirror before a knocked on the door signal him that he was needed now.

He parted his graze from his reflection and headed towards the door and open it as he did the guards greeted him. He nodded to acknowledge them and started walking off the guards followed behind but not too close.

The walls were filled with paintings of many things, landscapes, the kingdom or even the faces and families of previous kings and queens. Maids we're cleaning some pictures clearing them from dust and as expected, they bowed down.

"Good evening my prince" one had said she had been a maid alongside the royal family for as long as he could remember or it been told.

He smiled at her which she had smiled back. The prince's smile was people have dream to have been directed at them, people adore the prince and his looks. He wasn't too skinny but he wasn't too Muscular, his kind approach and attitude were what many people liked him for.

Many liked him for his looks, people have told him whenever he walked around the kingdom, that he looked like his father. Many said he got his personality from his mother and some maids have pointed that out as well.

The guards stepped past him and open the grand doors revealing a giant room. Which like the hallways filled with paintings, most of them was his parents and him. Guards stood alongside both sides of the walls looking straight ahead. But some had bowed down showing their respects, lastly, he looked at the two thrones.

There sat his parents in full glory their crowns sitting comfortably on their heads. They were well dressed and they had to be to show they were the most powerful people in the kingdom.

"Steve" My mother's soft gentle voice called out. I slowly walked over as she smiled and sat up a bit more.

"How has your day been?" She started making a small talk. But my father didn't let me reply.

"Honey, we got him here for a reason" The brunette looked at her husband and thinned her lips and place her hands in her lap.

"Yes of course" she smiled at me, her smile made her look more gorgeous. "Steve, may you take a walk with me and your father? We have something to discuss with you"

I was curious but smiled I didn't want to be rude.

"Of course Mother" This causes her to nod and stand up and head towards me and stand beside me. We watch my father order, 4 guards, to come with us.

We walked out of the throne room, they didn't speak to me the whole time we were walking through the halls. Once we got out of the castle the guards opening the doors for us that's when they said something.

"You know why we have asked you to join us today?" My father questioned But kept staring ahead, his dominance radiated off him.

"Well, Hunny we wanted to talk about a few things but at the moment, how do you feel about the kingdom?" My Mother smiled looking at me as we continued to walk down the streets.

"Well, everyone is so kind...and when you walk down people will greet you even if you are strangers. The shops and stalls are filled with joyful people and when festivals happen everyone gives it their full best. The kingdom is somewhere you could go and everyone is so welcoming...I like the kingdom"

After my little speech, some people who had heard smiled at me. My mother seemed happy with my speech, My father didn't speak I saw he was thinking. He let out a little sigh and licked his lips.

"That's good... It's good to know you put your trust in the kingdom and you think it's welcoming" I saw my mother give him a look.

I was confused about what had they wanted to talk to me about?. I tried thinking about what they needed from me but my mother's soft voice snapped me out of it.

"You know what we have been talking about lately?" She questioned a bit. Then it hit me I know knew what they wanted me for.

"I'm guessing you worked it out" My father's voice filled my ears. "That's why your mother had asked for your opinion on the kingdom to see what would happen."

I didn't speak I just thinned my lips so my father took my silence to continue.

"The king needs someone strong and passionate. This kingdom had stood with its walls not falling for many generations and that made our population grow bigger. The Trades and Allies came more and this?" He gestured over to the people and stalls, as we headed back to the castle.

"Will soon all be yours" I didn't respond. I knew what they were talking about, they want me to take over the kingdom when they step down.

"We ask you to do these things and ask these questions to see how far you've grown and how far you've improved" we stopped outside the castle doors he turns to me.

"And to rule this kingdom you need someone by your side" My jaw tense it always leads to marriage and I'm not ready to get married I wang to find someone I love not a forced marriage.

"Sweety" I looked at my mum she had a sad smile on her face.

"This kingdom will need you, someone who can fight and protect them. They need someone who can lead them, someone strong"

I sighed and smile gently at my mum she knew I didn't like this conversation. She removes her hand. She watches as I headed off.

"We shouldn't force these things upon him he doesn't deserve it he is still quite young" Her father looked over at his wife and looked in the direction he's son gone.

"I know but right now we need him to find someone to help rule and keep him from doing things he might regret"

"Steve isn't like, he will make a good king with and without a king but now he wants to you to see he knows how to defend himself just put faith in him" She finished off and walked letting her husband think.

"Sir"

*somewhere far from the kingdom*

Hooves hit the ground slashing water that was sitting as a thin cloak on the ground. Lightning lit up the sky in long strands and short strands and the thunder boom loudly on the sky scaring away small creatures.

"CAPTAIN!" The heavy rain shutting out the yell. Soon all horses came to a stop.

"Captain, we need to settle down the rain is getting heavier," A male said hood covering his face but the rain still got on.

"We won't be able to make it any further the rain is too heavy and lighting could strike down any time" The Raven bit his bottom lip and looked up the moment it lit up.

He nodded and pulled at the reins and headed off everyone following behind the rain got heavier making the horses slow down slightly. A soft thud didn't reach anyone's ears as the rain covered it up.

"Sir, we missing two people" A frown followed upon the male's face and stopped his horse.

"What do you mean?"

"They're gone sir, so are their horses" One male confirmed.

"Find them spilt up"

"Yes Sir!"

Hours passed and no signs of the two missing men. Hope slowly slipped from everyone as the rain just got heavier and the thunder rumbled deeper.

"Sir! I found them" He turns and nodded and followed soon yelling to tell the others to come.

"Oh my...." I stared and got off my horse and headed over then kneel. I checked for a pulse and shook my head.

"Both dead....they must've been left to die because they're are faint blood streaks over there" I pointed "The rain made it lighter it made our search harder"

"You have any ideas on who could've killed them?" Rye asked louder than the rain and thunder. They all shook their head.

"Let's go...if we're not alone we need to go and inform the king" I walked off only to hear some thuds I turn to see what happen.

Blood ran down my chin, I grabbed my chest finding it hard to breathe and looked up to meet dark eyes. I tried to back up only for a foot to slam down on my chest.

"Where is it" The figure growled pushing down further.

"O-Over my dead body"

The figure hummed and removed their foot and kneel and stared down at me.

"Every well then" Before Splitting my throat and motion for their group or move off and took one last glance at me and left.

I coughed some more blood and reach for my pouch but my arm gave out a few inches before it. I groaned as dark spots appear
