Chapter Sixteen
Looking up at the board, it displayed his name as one of the final participants. There were only a few more matches left and all he needed to continue on what he was doing.
Feeling a cold liquid drip on his neck, he looked up and saw the clouds forming together, and rain pouring out from the clouds.
The sky was getting darker and it was soon going to be night. Everyone rushed into the entrances of the stands for shelter, some even used jackets to cover themselves but this had been the perfect chance for him to talk to Lusilla again.
He rushed up the stairs, this time making no guards there. He looked up at where Lusilla and the captain were - or where they should have been but they weren't there. He tried looking around the chairs they were supposed to sit down on, but still no sign of them anywhere.
He tried even asking around but nobody seemed to know where they were. So rushing quickly to the indoor stands he thought if there were any possible chances that they were both captured and the cult didn't keep their promise and captured them.
If this had been the case, he wondered why they would need Asagiri, head of the knights. Was he that important to the cult, and what role had he played in this. Instead of taking time to think about this, he continued running, trying to push the thoughts out of his mind and just hope Lusilla and Asagiri were safe.
"Please, don't hurt me!" a voice yelled in the distance.
Isaac stopped for a moment and immediately knew that was Lusilla's voice without a doubt but he wondered who she was talking to. He continued following the sound of the voice until he peeked around a wall and saw her on the ground, blood smeared all over her face and dripping from her neck. But taking a closer look, he realized it wasn't her blood that was dripping out. It was the person who was on top of her blood. The captain of the knights, who had been on top of Lusilla, blood dripping from his mouth and two arrows in his back but he realized he wasn't the one who was harming her, he protected her... from whoever was there before but they were long gone.
Running towards both of them, and screaming out their names in fear, pain, and anger. He grabbed onto Lusilla first, shaking her, but she didn't wake up. There was no medical treatment around, nor was there anyone experienced in medical stuff there.
Nobody was in the room other than Isaac, Lusilla, and Asagari. So where were the people who attacked him now? He knew for sure it was the cult but if he was right. Everyone needed to evacuate to the arena and go to the castle. They were trying to kill everyone in the arena, which is why first they went for Asagiri as a warning.
He closed Asagiri's eyes and said a prayer. Then he grabbed Lusilla and got her on his back. It had been a bit of a struggle because of the thickness of her dress, but when she finally made it onto his back. Isaac zoomed outside and went to the announcer's chair, where Asagiri had been doing all the announcements before. Nobody had noticed him, that was until guards had come running up the stairs to get to him.
If he wanted to say something, he had to do it now, and if he did get them to listen, would he inform them of Asagiri's death? No, that would surely make them panic, and instead of reasoning, they would go bonkers. But if it came to that he would.
Everyone's attention soon went over to him and somebody noticed the princess, then after noticing her beside Isaac, they yelled. "He's holding the princess captive!"
Everyone then noticed she was with him as well and thought he was the bad one but that was nothing close to the real truth. Some even began saying reckless things.
With the guards less than a meter away with him he yelled, "Listen! Think what you want, but your lives are at risk here! You have to listen to me, somebody has died due to a secret cult wanting blood from this kingdom. More are coming here to take away your lives so listen to me!" Still, nobody listened to him, well at least a few did, but not enough.
"Liste-" then he was grabbed by two guards and they began taking him away.
"Isaac Kora, you are arrested for treason and violation of our laws."
"Lusilla do something!" he yelled struggling for help but she still remained unconscious.
"Wait it's true! What he's saying is true! I've seen it myself! These people want nothing but blood! We all need to evacuate to the castle, it's the only way we'll be safe." a voice shouted out from the crowd.
"Elijah!?" Isaac yelled in excitement.
"You must go now! It's not safe here!" Elijah said.
Then everybody began exiting and the guards let Isaac go, however, they threatened that they wouldn't hesitate to take his life if he had been lying. He simply nodded but what hit him next was unbelievable.
A hand patted him on the back and he turned around to see Lusilla awake. There were bags under her eye and she looked like she hadn't slept in days but instead of saying anything else, she said. "I'll explain everything..."
--
Walking down the hallways with Lusilla, Isaacs's tears dripped slowly from his face. He began walking slower and breathing slower and soon he stopped. Not doing anything, or saying anything.
¨Isaac, that is why I told you to not do that bet! Asagiri was only a lure, you fell straight into their trap. They're burning the castle, and everyone in it!"
"If I had known..." Isaac slowly said.
"And after they'll kill you, torturing you in front of me! Isaac you idiot!" she yelled/
"Lusilla, I'm sorry..." he quietly said.
Lusilla stood still and Isaac and Lusilla both faced each other. Lusilla slowly backed up her hand and slapped Isaac. His cheek became red and softly vibrated. "Lusilla..." Isaac said in a quiet voice. Then as soon as he turned around, she attempted to run away.
