Hell
Robin said that we should get to he dune today, but I'm not sure if I'll make it out of hell.
My muscles felt numb and beast boy is carrying me again. I was sweating a lot. Even for the desert heat. I couldn't even sleep last night. My heart was beating a mile a minute.
"Beast Boy, put me down." I commanded. He put me on my butt and I sat there.
"What's wrong Raven?" he asked worriedly. He still had the worried look on his face he had for the last 3 miles.
"Can you take my pulse?" I asked. I know its and odd question, but I feel like the blood going trough my body is going too fast.
"Why?" He asked.
"Just do it."
He took my wrist in his hand and pressed his thumb on it. When he was done counting his eyes were wide.
"Well?"
"Uh...Heh Heh! Your fine!" Really? His face told it all.
"Beast Boy. Don't lie to me. Just because I don't have my powers doesn't mean I can't sense liars." I said. I can sense idiots too. There's one standing right in front of me and he looks like a green highlighter with hair.
Hey, just because were alone in the desert doesn't mean that I can't have a little fun.
"Fine. Your pulse is going really fast." Just what I thought.
"I shouldn't be running. We've got a couple hours until we get there. I'll just go on your back." I said, getting a sudden burst of energy. It was most likely from my high blood pressure. When I stood up I got dizzy and fell over. I am in seriously bad shape. And the symptoms get worse the closer I am to death.
He turned into a camel and I quickly hopped on his back.
Finally! We're here. I hopped off of his back and he changed back.
"Thanks for carrying me the whole way." I thanked him. He was about to say something like, "no problem", but I stopped him when it hit me. A stabbing pain in my leg where the sting is. I tried holding it but it hurt to the touch. I can't even stand at this point. Beast boy rushed over.
"What's going on?" He asked. I couldn't speak to him. I strained and grunted.
God this hurts. Finally it went away. I sighed in relief.
"It's just another side effect." I answered. Beast Boy looked sad.
I think he is even more worried about me now.
"Raven, are you sure you are going to be ok down there?" I've never seen him this concerned about anything. Not even eating meat accidentally got him as concerned as this.
"Ye-yeah." I stuttered. That wasn't very convincing, but that's because I don't think I will be ok. I think I'll die before I get home. But I'm still going to try. And I can't tell him that anyway.
I looked at him signaling, "Do you want to say it?" He shook his head. Then he signaled the same thing. I shook my head. I groaned. Fine. I'll say it. I got up and stood straight and firm.
"Beast Boy, go to hell." Saying that was not easy. Then there was a red flash and a radiating heat wave. When the flash died down there were bright red flames. I was trying to fan myself, but It didn't do much good.
"Ugh. It's hotter in there than out here." I'm stating the obvious.
"Really? I thought it would be colder down there." Beast Boy joked. We laughed, but were cut off by,
"Come in daughter." My father. Crap. We walked through and the gates shut behind us with a loud clang.
Beast Boy's POV
I really hope Raven can make it out of here. I still don't know how she is supposed to fight him.
Hmmm. Oh! I've got it! I whispered my plan in Raven's ear.
"Do you really think that is going to work?" She asked.
"Do we really have anything else to go on?"
"No."
Then we reached a fork in the road. And in the middle of the fork was a pile of burning human bones. Terrific. The fork had two signs. The one pointing down the left path said Trigon, and the one pointing down the right path said Scath.
"Which way Raven?" I saw her thinking.
"Left. People call him Trigon down here. Not Scath." She headed down the left path and I followed.
We've been walking for about, maybe ten minutes. I had a watch on but it started to melt so I took it off. It was useless anyways. Raven told me that down here there is no concept of time. There doesn't need to be. Then we saw him. He was sitting on a giant throne of bones from all sorts of creatures. Oh how pleasant. He opened his eyes. The ground shook when he spoke. That just makes everything better!
"Daughter. Why have you come here?" He bellowed.
"For my powers." She stepped forward and said. All he did was grunt, and then it looked like he was thinking.
He reached down and grabbed her.
"Raven!" I yelled. I hope his grip isn't too tight. I don't think it is because she's managed to get her arms free and now she's struggling. Her hood fell off and her hair fell to touch his hand.
"So Daugher, you would like to have your powers back?" He asked.
"Yes!" She answered.
"Very well." Wait, what?! Raven looked just as confused as I did.
It can't be this easy. There HAS to be a catch.
He put Raven down and shot her with some weird red energy beams. When he stopped she looked a lot like him.
Red skin, 4 yellow eyes. Her hair was white. But her clothes had changed too. She had a dress on and her boots became tighter around her ankles. She lost her gloves, and her cloak was black. She also had a few horns on her head. looked at her leg, the scorpion sting was gone too. She looked at me in fear. I stepped back. I wasn't sure what was going to happen. I expected a big fight. She looked up at Trigon.
"You can have your powers back, if," See there is always a catch! "You help me take over the Earth again."
I could see that Raven was torn. On one hand, she wanted her powers back, but she didn't want to enslave the earth and look like that for the rest of her life. We both waited for a different answer.
I know she wants her powers back, but not like this...
She walked towards me. What is she doing? I thought.
But she simply said, "No" and stood beside me. Then a bright flash of light and she was back to the way she walked down here. Her eyes were closed, and she didn't move.
"Raven?" She took a deep breath in, and a deep breath out. When she opened her eyes I saw her eyes 2 were fading from yellow back to their normal violet. Good.
"Ready?" I asked. She nodded.
"BB and Rae, GO!" She yelled. I made her say that as our battle cry. I didn't think she would actually say that though. Trigon stood up and tried blasting us, then he summoned some fire minions that surrounded him.
I turned into a Triceratops and bashed them all. And according to the plan, Raven hid behind a giant pillar.
Trigon, not seeing where Raven went started looking for her, but since he was so tall, from his point of view, he couldn't see Raven, but I could see her clear as day. And all his minions were looking at was me. They didn't care if they saw Raven or not, which they did, many times.
I turned into a T-Rex, which was the signal for the next part of the plan. Raven is hiding behind a very unstable pillar, so she pushed it and it slowly fell on Trigon right on top of his head. He stumbled around for a minute, then I turned into a Rhino and pushed him into the lake of lava. Raven came out from behind the pillar.
"Did we win?" She asked. Her question was answered when the minions went away, and after yet another flash of light, Raven got her powers back, this time she looked absolutely the same.
"You tell me." I said. "Can you get us out of here?" She nodded and tried to create a portal out of hell. She pulled me trough and we were right back where we started in the desert. At least I think we are.
"Can you teleport us home?" I asked.
"Sure it's that," she pointed northwest. "that, tha-" she's gagging why is she gagging?
I shouldn't have asked that. She threw up. She puked on the sand. I held her hair back and she kept puking. I looked at her leg and the sting was back. And I don't think she can heal herself for this one. The venom have been in her system for over 3 days. I doubt she can get it out all by herself.
When she finally stopped puking she passed out. She puked up the little food, she took in during the whole trip. I picked her up bridal style and felt her pulse. It's very slow and it's getting slower.
Crap she's dying! I pulled out my communicator.
"Beast Boy calling anybody! Beast Boy calling anybody!" I yelled through the communicator. Robin and Star picked up.
"Robin and Starfire here, what's wrong Beast Boy, did you make it out?" He asked.
"Get everything ready, were coming home!"
"Oh joyous!" She paused. "But, why do you not look happy?" She asked. "Because Raven is DYING!" I yelled. Before hanging up to change I heard Robin tell Cyborg something. I morphed into a Pterodactyl and put Raven on my back. I flew up to the way she pointed and flew as fast as I could.
We are over New Jersey now I'm realizing just how tired I really am. I hope I can make it home.
When we got to Michigan, Raven woke up a bit.
"Huh?" I heard her say. "Oh." She looked down at me, I think, and realized she was on my back.
I barely know what's going on around me. I almost hit and got hit by 3 airplanes, 5 helicopters, and one dart. I think some people though I had survived the wipe out or dinosaurs or something.
When we got to Nevada I could just barely see the tower in the distance. I went lower to the ground and skidded across the tops of buildings to go faster.
The T-Tower yes! I think somebody saw us because Starfire came out onto the roof and waved her Starbolts around to tell me where to land. I landed right were she told me to. She didn't even talk to me. She just took Raven off my back and I morphed and we ran down the stairs. Raven woke up again and she was really confused. I don't think she even has a concept of time right now.
"Star...fire?" She said.
"Do not worry friend Raven, you will be ok." Star looked at her and they smiled and Raven looked ahead with weary eyes, and then went to sleep again.
I hope Star is right.
