Nat's POV

That day, before going back home from work, I stopped at a café to take some coffee, I really needed it.

-Long day?-.

A male voice came behind me and when I turned I saw Detective Barton.

-Detective, nice to see you!- I said -Any news with the case you are working on?-.

-Can we walk? We need to talk- he said and we started walking.

I was starting to worry, did she discover something?

-I talked with your secretary, Susan if I am not wrong, and she told me that months ago you skipped a day of work- he told me.

-So? Am I not allowed to take a day off?- I said knowing where he was going to.

-Well you never did in all the years you work there and the first days you were kind of nervous, scared I would say- he explained -And that happened the day after we saw the Winter Soldier near your house-.

-I call it coincidence- I said drinking my coffee.

-I call it kidnapping- he says.

I stopped.

-What? Are you thinking that...? Oh my God seriously?!- I said sarcastic.

-I wouldn't be surprised, I mean he was wounded when we found him last time and he has been seen near a house of a doctor- he said approaching -I am not stupid, Dr. Romanoff-.

-I told you that everything is ok, don't you believe me?- I said.

When I arrived at home I found Bucky in the kitchen, sat at the table with a notebook in front of him.

-New memory?- I asked walking in.
He nodded and I kissed him.

-What happened?- he asked.

-I met the detective again, I think he suspects that you are hiding here- I said -You have to go, run away now that you are in time to do so-.

He stood and approached.
-I am not going anywhere, I promised to help you and this is what I am going to do- he said.

-But... You risk that they find you-.

-It won't happen. Bring the detective here, show him that everything is ok, I'll be hiding outside- he explained.

I nodded and a tear fell on my cheeck.
-I don't want to lose you- I said.

I opened the door of my house: finally, after years and years, I was back!

I went downstairs and opened the door of my basement: once I was there I saw that there wasn't anyone.

Of course, my dear Nat escaped.

But one of sheperd's jobs is to bring back home all his sheep and that was what I was going to do.

I approached to the chain and touched them, caressed them.

-I am coming to take you, Nat-.

The Butcher was back.
