JHANVI
I stand outside Sanjay's apartment after ringing the bell and waits for him to open the door impatiently. We are playing with fire. If someone spots us then there could be permanent damage on both of our family's.
But all these danger signs flies when we are alone. We aren't scared no more then.
The door opens and I hurriedly get inside. Sanjay locks the door behind me and we look at each other for a second.
The sun is brighter all of a sudden and the light fills the room. Sanjay and I have been continuing our sex deal for weeks now and it's always been at night or evenings. I know this is not a call to quench our thirst but as we gaze into each other's eyes, it suddenly is.
Sanjay pulls me against the wall next to the door and leans down to kiss my collarbone. It makes my knees weak and I clutch his shirt as I cover his mouth with mine.
I'm all hot and bothered and I don't have time for foreplay. I push him back gently and he sits down on his couch and pulls me onto his lap.
I moan as Sanjay tongue enters my mouth and kisses every inch of it. I feel him move his hands inside my shirt and he struggles to unhook my bra.
"I hate this thing." He whispers as he finally gets it undone. He grabs my breasts in hands presses my hardened nipples. They fit perfectly fine in his hands.
I pull back from the kiss to moan in his ear as the tingles and the passion makes me want to feel him inside of me. Right now.
I find the waistband of his pants and puts my hand inside to grab him. Sanjay looks at me, his eyes darker as signs me to move on.
My hands wrap around his hard cock and I raise my hips for him to lower my pants and panties.
I sign in relief once I feel him fill me in. He grabs my hips while I move faster and faster on top of him.
We look into each other's eyes as we come together and it's so satisfying. It's so amazing. It's so adventurous. It's so passionate.
Sanjay opens his mouth to say something but his phone starts ringing. I get up and pull back my pants while Sanjay pulls back his shorts and reach for his phone on the coffee table.
"It's Dadi." He says once he grabs the phone. "Do I look okay and not just had the best sex?"
I laugh at his question as I walk towards the kitchen. "You look both."
I wash my hands and grab a water bottle from the fridge. I watch Sanjay as he places the phone infront of him.
"Sanjay!" His Dadi shouts.
"I'm here. Please don't yell. And place the phone infront of you."
"I can't hear you if I keep the phone infront of me."
I chuckle as I realize she thinks she's on voice call with him when she's FaceTiming him.
I see Sanjay chuckle as he shakes his head. "Please trust me on this."
"Arrey Wah!" She beams and I can hear her excitement. "Why did you leave so early? I have to talk—"
"If the talk is about that thing then I'm not coming." He tells her.
I look around and I realize I should be going but he is sitting opposite to the door and I'm sure she'll see me If I go now or even if I go to his room.
I see the digital clock in the kitchen and it shows 14:38. I open the fridge to look for food. I guess I'm taking the liberty of our deal to have food from his place. If he doesn't like it, I'll pay him for the food.
There is no finished product in this fridge and not even snacks and fruits.
"What are you looking for?"
I hear his voice close to my ear and I jump as I turn around. He smiles at me with amusement.
"I didn't know you get scared easily."
"I don't." I say trying to keep my voice normal as I take a step back. "I was looking for food. I'm sorry, I was hungry. I'll go."
"Hey," He calls me as I turn to leave. I look at him and he takes out two bowls from the fridge. "Never say sorry for being hungry." He places the bowls on the counter and removes the cling wrap. "Let's have some food."
"I don't think it's a good idea for us to have food together—"
Sanjay frowns as he looks at me. He has shaven his beard and he looks a lot younger. Like all his burdens have been lifted. I don't even know if he has any burden.
He is still good looking though.
"I don't mean it in the bad way. If we have lunch together it might seem we are—"
"Dating? To whom?" He asks me as he walks closer. "Jhanvi we are only the people here and we know we are not in a relationship. So what's there to worry."
I look at his eyes and they always seem to hold me still as he talks. I nod at his words and look down at the bowls. One bowl has marinated chicken and other has kneaded dough.
"What are we making?"
SANJAY
Jhanvi's laughter fills the entire kitchen as she pours the butter chicken into a bowl. She looks at me and she is still laughing.
Her eyes are shining. Her lips are beautiful and they're a thunderstorm bouncing on my chest. The mole she has on the left part of her face closer to her ear, her cute nose, her perfect jawline, her collarbone and the silky shiny hair that reaches below her shoulder just not too small and not too long just perfect like she is, suddenly everything makes sense to me.
She is the everything I need. I want.
"So you are a miser." She says sitting on the kitchen chair.
I look around at my surroundings. We are in my kitchen. I'm standing holding naan. She is on the chair with butter chicken and two plates infront of her.
We are having lunch. Late lunch.
But her, in my kitchen is making me feel things. She alone is making me feel things.
"That's what everyone like to call me. It started in highschool. Thanks to Rehan. But thank God I went to a whole new state for college otherwise—" I shake my head with a smile.
I put naan in her plate and pour water for her in a glass before sitting down on my chair, opposite to her.
"Where did you go to college?" She asks as she takes a piece of naan and dip it in the butter chicken in her plate. I watch her eat and it's calming to me.
What's going on?!
I shake my head at myself and pretend to cough. I feel my neck grow hot and I rub my neck and sit straight.
"Uh, Chennai."
She opens her eyes wide. "Wow. I did not know that. It's in... Tamil Nadu right?"
"Yup. You ever been there?"
She shakes her head. "Had so many restrictions when I was in school and college. Couldn't travel. Tell me about Chennai. No friend of mine has ever gone to south to study." She says slapping on the table in excitement. "Please."
Yes, she is like a baby when she's excited.
"Well, Chennai was wonderful. The first year was tough but then it was all smooth. I learnt some Tamil too."
"Wow!" Jhanvi exclaims. "Say something."
I laugh. "You tell me."
"I don't know." She laughs.
It's all back. Her shining eyes, her brightening but flushes face, her small nod as she laughs. Everything.
"Have you watched Vaaranam Aayiram?"
"No."
"You should definitely watch that. That movie is so so good."
"You should text me the name, otherwise—" She makes her head exploding sign and I smile as I eat.
"But you didn't say anything."
I look into her eyes and these are the only words that comes out of my mouth. "Naan itha solliyae aaganum, nee avvalavu azhagu. Yevanum ivvalo azhagaa oru.. ivalo azhaga paarthirukka maattaanga."
Jhanvi looks at me in awe and she has tears in the corner of her eyes.
"That was so beautiful, the way you said it. I'm guessing it means I have food on my lips." She laughs as she wiped the corner of her lips. I watch her wishing I could lick it off.
But unknown to her I meant every word I said.
REHAN
"Thank you for meeting me, Rehan." Shekhar uncle says as he shakes my hand. I nod as we sit down on the chairs opposite to each other.
"Two coffees please." He tells the waiter and I look around hoping no one sees me. Sanjay will have my head if he sees or hears about this.
Shekhar Gupta, like his daughter Anvi Shekhar is a sensitive topic to Sanjay. And even though he has not said it to me, I know meeting his ex's father is out of the book.
"How are you? You're a family man now. I remember you and Sanjay running infront of my gate 10 times in the morning to see Anvi." He laughs revisiting the memory.
I smile as I nod. "I also remember your dogs trying to eat us."
He laughs shaking his head. "Two stalkers were trying to get inside my house, I had to do that. You'll understand when you have a girl."
"I guess I will do the same." I agree with him.
Aadhya and I are not having another baby for now but when we do have a girl I'm sure I can imagine how I'll be.
"Why did you call me?" I ask him and he looks down and takes out a letter from his suit jacket. He passes it to me and I look at him before I open the letter.
I can't do this anymore, daddy. This is for everyone's betterment. Tell Sanjay, I love him.
"This..." I know what it might be but I don't want to confirm it.
"Anvi's suicide letter."
not edited.
