breaking news 

it has been a very long day 

graphics are glued 

to our membranes 

every equation has an answer 

questions have answers 

earth doesn't have 

the answers we need 

endless problems 

ensues our lives 

gives us worry 

makes me scream 

tears roll down my eyes 

of the question 

with no answer 

"how do we solve this?" we wonder 

violence 

debate 

economics 

safety 

i thought there was an answer to all of these 

but alas, i was wrong 

wrong about everything 

judgement doesn't heal us 

inequality truly is divided 

schools have had enough 

of this incessant nonsense 

today kids around the nation 

do the simplistic task 

of walking out of class 

expressing distraught 

unfairness 

yet walking out 

makes us all at home 

the world is entwined 

through these kids 

we connect to the earth 

as if we were the first humans 

breaking news 

i'm walking out 

so don't judge 

or give me looks 

or ponder my behavior 

it's national school walk-out day
