ANA'S POV:

I place the last of the dishes on the dining table and plop on the chair. It has been an exhausting day, not to mention life changing. My phone pings.

E-mail from: Mr. Bhatt.

It's the e-mail I've been waiting for.

E-mail: The papers are ready. Today's transaction was a success. You have made 3 million dollars in profit. Please come over to the office to complete the formalities.

An audible breath escapes my mouth - I have to talk to Leo.

I check the time; 9pm - Why isn't Ha Joon down for dinner yet?

LOCATION: Ha Joon's Bedroom.

ANA: Ha Joon? *Knock*  Ha Joon?

Worried I slide open the door and look in. The pitch-black room reveals nothing. I reach my hand to the switch near the door and flick it on.  I smile finding him lying on his stomach, exhausted, fast asleep.

I turn to leave but my feet decide to walk up to him instead. I reach the bed and squat on my toes, my hand instinctively reaching for his face.

ANA: *I brush aside the dangling lock of hair covering his eyes*  You look so peaceful. How long has it been since you had a decent night's sleep?

I trace the lines of his eyes and nose from afar.

ANA: Why didn't you want to be mine? *My finger continues to trace his lips*  Why didn't you love me?

Tears well up in my eyes and I pull my hand away. I cover my mouth as uncontrollable sobs erupt from within me.

I straighten and rush out of his room. Running into my room, I muffle my sobs in the pillow as the truth echoes in my head- No matter what I did, that room was never mine, neither was the person in it. And no matter what I do he will never be mine.

A shriek drowns in the pillow- Fucking hell, when did I become so miserable?

TIME SKIP:

A/N'S POV:

LOCATION: Brightwin School of Excellence, Lakewater, Myit. TIME: 9 AM.

In the loud boisterous class of grade 12, only 2 students are oblivious to the ruckus around them; the students in the last 2 rows to the extreme left of the class. On the second last bench: 20-year-old, Leo Soriano and behind him, his classmate, both their heads covered in hoods as they doze over their benches.

Leo would have skipped school if only Ana didn't know his every hide out. This was the only place she couldn't reach him; not until the school was over at 3 pm, anyways. He pretends to be asleep, but his head is filled with a million thoughts.

Mom's revelation had sent shock waves through Leo.

MOM: She took out all her money and bought shares of Dae Hyun Corp. What the hell's wrong with her?

How could you do this to me Ate?

Jaya, a perky 19 year old, looks at Leo with concern.

JAYA:  Aurelio, babe?

She bends down, bringing her head down to his desk.

JAYA: *Nauseatingly adorable * Babe, are you okay babe?

Leo reluctantly lifts up his head.

LEO: Jaya, I'm good. Just need to catch up on my sleep.

JAYA: *Irritatingly submissive* Oh, so sorry. Go back to sleep.

Leo puts his head back down. A 50-something math teacher walks into the classroom and Jaya quickly makes her way to her desk in the front of the class.

Frustration brings back Leo's train of thoughts to Ate.

Why Ate? Why did you do it?

How could you use our money? It was yours and mine.

Why did you turn out like Mom and Dad?

Why did you abandon me Ate?

How could you choose Hyung- Hyung, my foot, how could you choose Ha Joon over me?

Leo is awakened by a kick to his feet from the back. Leo grunts in irritation. Another kick disturbs his pretend morning slumber. Although clearly annoyed, he doesn't bother to get up.

A minute later, a sharper and stronger kick lands on his calf. Leo snaps and whips around.

LEO: *Hisses*  Hey! Watch it.

His classmate looks sound asleep. Leo sighs frustrated and returns his head to his desk. The next second, a couple of sharp kicks ram into his feet.

LEO: *Whipping Around*  Dude, what's your problem?

TEACHER: *From the front of the class*  Aurelio, do you have anything to share with the class, now that you have decided to bless the class with your gracious attention?

Leo bites the insides of his cheek and stands.

LEO: Sorry Ma'am.

TEACHER: See me after class.

LEO: Yes Ma'am.

He drops down into his chair under the frozen gaze of the teacher. The teacher turns back to the smart board and Leo turns back to chide his classmate. He's surprised to see the seat empty, the soft closing of the back door of the classroom catches his attention.

LEO: No, you don't get to walk away.

LOCATION: Rooftop, 7th floor, Brightwin School of Excellence. TIME: 9.15 am

Leo shoves the door open and walks in.

LEO: *Looking around*  Where the hell did you go?

His phone buzzes. He pulls it out of his hoodie's pocket, Caller ID: Ate.

He immediately shoves it back in.

His phone buzzes again.

I'm glad you're calling, but I'm not answering. You betrayed me. Even yesterday night, when I was taking care of your duffel bag for you, you didn't bother to tell me you had left me. Go to hell.

All of you go to hell.

His frustration rises up, strangling his throat and suffocating him.

He makes his way to the ledge and climbs on. Sitting with his feet dangling on the outside, he runs his hands through his pockets as he looks around.

LEO: *Not able to find his E-cig*  Shit.

He was new to vaping, but the thing was so damn addictive, he needed a hit now. The hooded student plants herself on the ledge next to him, holding out her lit E-cig.

Desperate for a hit, Leo takes it.

LEO: Thanks. *Inhales a long puff*

*WHACK!* 

A hand smacks the back of his head.

HOODIE GIRL: Didn't they teach you in kindergarten not to take things from strangers?

LEO: *Coughs caught in the middle of a puff*  Ate?

He looks at the hooded girl.

LEO: What the hell!!?? What are you doing here, Ate?

ANA: Witnessing my brother's idiocy.

Leo looks down at her uniform, both surprised and glad.

Shit, I didn't think you would go this far to catch me.

He turns off the E-cig and gets off the ledge - But that doesn't excuse what you did to me.

LEO: *Blunt*  How did you get in here?

ANA:*Looking at the school ground below*  They ...

LEO: *Angry*  Why are you here?

Ana swings her legs around and faces Leo.

ANA: *Calm*  You weren't answering my calls.

LEO: Because you left. *Infuriated*  You LEFT.

ANA: *Sincere*  I left Mom and Dad. I didn't leave you.

LEO: IT'S THE SAME-

ANA: *Stern*  You BETTER not complete that sentence.

Leo looks away, tears welling up in his eyes.

ANA: I left them, not you. You know I would never leave you.

Seeing her words having no effect on her younger brother, Ana sighs.

ANA: Leo-

LEO:*Hurt*  NO! You chose Hyung over me. *Glaring into Ana's eyes*. That money was for us. You promised me that money was for starting our company. But you went and spent it all on Hyung.

Ana slides off the ledge and lands on her feet.

ANA: Your trust in me can't be this fragile.

For every step she takes toward him, Leo takes 2 steps away.

ANA: You and I have been through hell, you think I'm going to leave you now?

She looks intently at Leo, and notices the first signs of panic- his trembling hands.

ANA: I will never abandon my younger brother for anyone. Not even for a dozen Ha Joons of the world. Seriously Leo, I'm disappointed you didn't already know that. *Walks past Leo, grabbing his wrist*  If you want to know what I actually did yesterday, come with me.

She pulls open the exit door and disappears behind it, dragging a secretively grinning Leo - Take that Hyung.
