Chapter Four

AN: Lol Hey guys! So I decided to publish this chapter as soon as I did because I have an extremely important question that will determine the outcome of this book. How long would you guys like this book to be? Like would you want it as long as the first one (40-50 chapters) or what I consider short (20- 30) , let me know in the comments! And for whichever one you picked, if I'm not able to do it I apologize. Thank you so much for reading up to this point! If you see any errors please tell me so I can fix them. Also if you have any ideas or critique, feel free to tell me. Don't forget to like, comment, and share!

Jennifer's POV:

"Nope, it isn't." She said.

When she said those three words a burst of happiness exploded through me.

I smiled and sat down next to her. I looked over at her and saw that she was looking at the fountain so I took this as my chance to admire her face. She facial features had clearly matured, but even with the mask on I knew that was her, and she looked absolutely stunning.

I decided to start a conversation with her.

"So, why is someone as beautiful as you, out here by yourself?" I asked her.

"I just... needed some fresh air." She mumbled.

"Are you alright?" I asked, concern laced in my voice.

She didn't answer, and instead just stared at me, she looked as if she was contemplating answering. She then looked away and sighed. "It's just, my friend invited somebody that I'm not really sure I want to see." She said.

"And who's this person?" I asked.

"She's my ex-girlfriend." She said and looked down at the ground.

So she can't recognize me... I thought to myself.

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that."

"You're not..." She trailed off.

"Homophobic? No, I'm not. Did you guys end on a bad note?"

"Yea, I guess you can say that..." She then took of her mask and placed it down on her lap, and wiped one of her eyes.

"Look I really don't want to talk about it." She said.

"You know... talking about it with someone that doesn't know you at all... it could help." I suggested.

She just stared down and playing with her manicured nails. Until she spoke "My ex-girlfriend, I dated her while I was in high-school... she was my english teacher."

She looked at me to see if I would comment of the whole dating her teacher part , but I didn't so she continued. "I met her a year before we started dating in a bar, she hit on me, but I shut her down because at the time, I didn't know I that I was into girls."

"Question, how did you get into the bar?" I asked, because to this day I still never asked.

"I had a fake I.D." She said, and flashed me a sheepish smile.

"Anyways, when she was my teacher, I was shocked. We had an awful lot of ups and downs, we tried staying away from each other, which didn't work out. We tried seeing other people, well I tried seeing someone, but it didn't work out. Then we realized that we cared about each other a lot, and she decided to risk her job to be with me."

She stopped and I looked at her and her eyes looked blank, as if there was no emotion in them.

"Then this guy I used to date, he tried to shoot her, but I got shot instead. She was with me the whole time I was recovering, but on my graduation day... the day that I was going to introduce her to my parents, to the world as my girlfriend... she left me. And she didn't even tell me goodbye."

At this point Arielle was in full blown tears, just crying. And seeing her cry, and knowing that I'm the reason why she's crying like this, broke my heart.

"Do you know the reason why she left?" I asked.

"She said so that I wouldn't get hurt. But I mean," she looked into my eyes with her tear stained face. "She told me she loved me, and that she didn't want me to get hurt but I still did."

"Well maybe she didn't think it all the way through." I said.

"Clearly she didn't" She mumbled.

We just sat there in silence, both of us reflecting on what she said.

"What's your name?" she asked.

"I'm Liliana." I lied. "What's yours?"

"I'm Arielle. So are you related to Jaylin or just a friend."

"Related. I'm her cousin." I said.

"Well thank you for listening to me Liliana. I haven't told anyone any of that... not even my best-friend. And you're right it did feel good talking about it." Arielle said.

"It's no problem. Can I ask you a question?" I said.

She nodded her head. "Why did you decide to tell me?" I asked.

"I honestly don't know. There's just something about you that's comfortable, somewhat familiar. I just..." She trailed off and looked into my eyes. "I just feel a connection, with you." She whispered the last part.

"I do too." I said and looked down at her lips.

I looked up into her eyes and saw that she was looking my lips as well. She then looked up into my eyes and then blushed, when she realized she was caught.

Looking into her beautiful light green eyes, they erupted so much emotions in me. I put one of my hands on her cheek and leaned into her. When our lips connected I felt a feeling that I hadn't felt in a long time.

She didn't respond to the kiss at first, but then I felt her lips move against mine. I I then licked her bottom lip to ask for entrance, which she gladly allowed. Our tongues danced, and then I heard her moan, which sent a hot feeling through my body that ended at my core. We pulled away and just stared into each other's eyes.

"Can you take off your mask?" She asked.

Just as I was about to respond a voice yelled. "Hey Arielle you missed the damn cake!"

Arielle turned her head to look at who it was, and I looked too and saw it was Jaylin.

"Arielle you do know that that's..." Jaylin was about to finish until she looked me in my eyes and saw that I was begging her with my eyes to not tell Arielle who I was.

"someone that I know, but you need to hurry up and come back inside." She said and grabbed Arielle's hand and pulled her away.

While she was being pulled, Arielle turned around and looked at me and flashed me a smile and waved.

I need to see her again.
