Stuart's POV
"Let's see..." I thought to myself and tapped the pencil I was using on the desk in my room. "If x squared times forty two was divided by-" my thoughts were interrupted when I heard the front door open.
I got out of my chair and walked to the staircase. I then saw Stiles locking the door behind him. I ran down the stairs and said, "Stiles, what are you doing here? Mom will not be happy when she sees you."
"I know, I just missed you bro. We only see each other at school and I wish we saw each other more often. Besides, if mom comes, I'll just hide, no biggie." Stiles said and shrugged his shoulders.
"Okay, so you'll hide, but where will your big jeep hide, huh? Stiles, you have to go before mom-" Once again, I was interrupted by our mom walking into the house.
"Stiles!" She practically yelled. "Get out now!" She said sternly and pointed to the door.
"But-" Stiles started to say.
"No buts! Leave," she said and shooed him away then walked into the kitchen.
"Bye Stuart," Stiles said and gave me a hug.
"Bye Stiles, see you tomorrow at school..." I said and released from the hug.
"Bye mom!" Stiles yelled before leaving the house.
"Leave!" She yelled back.
"Love you too..." He mumbled and closed the door behind him.
"Now, why was Stiles here?" My mom asked as she walked out of the kitchen.
"Just to say hi. You know, we are twin brothers and I would rather not have to be separated from him, so if you could make that work, that'd be great," I said with a bit of sass.
I was so frustrated that Stiles and I never had any time together and we were always separated.
"Excuse me mister? What did you just say?" She replied and crossed her arms.
Mom was always a lot stricter than dad. I don't know why I had to live with her and not Stiles, but I hated it.
"Nothing..." I said and my voice trailed off.
"That's what I thought," she said and walked back into the kitchen. "It's dinner time," she said and I walked into the kitchen.
I joined my mom at the table and took my fork.
"No beanies at the table, remember?" She said.
I groaned and pulled off my hat and my hair was messy from being under it all day.
I then picked up my fork again and scooped some corn into my mouth.
"I think you should get a new pair of glasses, Stuart," she said and looked at my glasses.
"Why? I like them," I replied with my mouth full.
She then gave me a disgusted look and rolled her eyes at me.
The rest of dinner was silent except for the sounds of our forks scraping against our plates.
When I was finished eating, I cleaned up my plate and went back upstairs. I entered my room and closed the door quietly. I've had this plan for a while, but tonight was the night, I was going to try to get an internship at Google.
Mom didn't know though, so I had to be quiet.
They said that they would call for FaceTime at about 7:30 and I looked at my clock and it said 7:00. I had to start getting ready.
I put my beanie on my bed and I geled my hair a little and put on a button-up shirt.
"I'm ready," I thought and opened up FaceTime on my computer. Within a few seconds, I was receiving a call from them and I immediately pressed the green button on my screen.
"Good evening," I said with a smile.
"Good evening, Stuart Twombly. We are just going to ask you some questions and all you need to do is give your answer, okay?" A woman asked.
I nodded and said, "Alright."
"Good, now let's get started," the man said that was standing next to the woman.
I basically trained myself with all the computer functions, like finding a bug, creating an app and more. Having a job at Google would be amazing and it would be the perfect fit for me.
When the interview was over, it was 9:00, and I decided to FaceTime Stiles and tell him about the interview.
He picked it up and said, "Hey, what's up?"
"Oh, I just did an interview with Google, nothing much," I said nonchalantly.
He nodded then said, "Wait what?! No way!"
"Yup!" I said with a grin plastered on my face.
"Damn..." I heard Stiles mumble and I laughed a little. "Does mom know?"
I scoffed and said, "No way, if she knew, she would literally kill me," I said and looked at my closed door.
"What if you get in? How will you tell her?" Stiles asked and highlighted something in his textbook.
"I'll think of something, don't worry," I replied.
"Can I tell Dad?" Stiles asked and looked up from his textbook.
"Yeah, just make sure he doesn't tell anyone else, okay?" I said and closed my notebooks that were on my desk.
"Why don't you tell him?" Stiles asked and pushed the swivel chair he was in away from his desk and he yelled, "Daddy-o, can you come up for a sec?"
"Sure," I heard him yell back.
Stiles then pushed his chair so he was closer to the screen and said, "He'll be here in a second."
"Okay," I said and took a deep breath.
Then I saw him enter and he came up to the screen. "Hey Stuart, what's up?" He said and bent down so he was in line with Stiles.
"I just finished an interview for an internship at Google!" I said excitedly.
"Oh my gosh! That's great, don't tell mom," he said.
I laughed and said, "I know, I won't."
"Good," he said and laughed. "But, great job, Stuart, your going to do great things."
"Thanks dad," I said sincerely. "I have to go, thanks for being there for me, I love you."
"We love you too!" Stiles said and leaned back in his chair but leaned back to far and fell backwards.
I laughed then said, "Alright, bye," I said and pressed the end call button. I happily sighed and leaned back in my chair.
"Google, huh?" Mom interrupted my thoughts.
I quickly turned around to see her standing in my doorway.
"Uh...yeah..." I said and scratched the back of my neck.
She then walked over to me, but on the way to me, she grabbed the beanie that was on my bed and started hitting me with it.
I covered my face with my arms and yelled, "What did I do wrong?"
She stopped hitting me and yelled back, "What did you do wrong?! Stuart, you can't just go around getting stupid internships for jobs you'll never get!"
I was so angry at her and I stood up from my chair and yelled back, "Why can't you be supportive like Dad and Stiles, why can't you do that for once?"
She grunted then took a deep breath and said a bit more calmly, "I don't want your dreams to get crushed, your not going to get in, Stuart. Good night," and she walked out of my room.
"I'll show her," I mumbled. "I'll get in... I'll get in..."
