Soobin woke up to the sound of a door slamming.
It was a Sunday morning, and a brief glance at the clock told him that whatever was going on, he didn't particularly care enough about to get involved this early.
"Why the fuck do you always waste money on shit like this?"
a deep male voice yelled from somewhere off in the house, followed by disappearing footsteps.
On second thought, maybe Soobin didn't want to stay at home today.
He exhaled, slipping out of bed and stretching. He didn't bother glancing in the mirror, he only pulled some random clothes from his dresser and headed to the bathroom.
With the water of the shower running, he thankfully couldn't hear the shouting match occurring outside. Besides, a morning shower would probably wake him up better anyway.
Almost immediately after Soobin had undressed and stepped into the shower, his phone buzzed on the countertop. He nearly groaned in annoyance, leaning out to see who had texted him.

Yeonjun:

Soobin grabbed his phone off of the counter, staring at the message. What the hell did that mean?

Soobin:

Soobin only gave his phone screen a concerned look, more so upon realizing the elder had left him on read. That wasn't a very Yeonjun type of thing to do.
He set his phone face down on the counter, trying to put it out of his thoughts as he quickly rinsed off, the warm water helping him to feel less like he'd only just woken up.
He stepped out of the shower after a few minutes, as he was somewhat hurrying to get ready.
As soon as he slipped on his pants and t-shirt he hurried out of the bathroom (remembering to grab his phone, of course).
On any regular Sunday, Soobin would probably be found sleeping in his bed by this time, spending the whole day to get away from life and rest.
Thanks to his parents being noisy again, that option was taken from him. Therefore he now made his way to the front door of his house, unlocking it and stepping out.
All he needed was somewhere to go.
He honestly didn't have any certain place he particularly wanted to be at. Yeji's place was farther than he wanted to walk, and Yeonjun's house was...
Actually, on second thought, there was no problem with going to Yeonjun's.
Soobin took his phone out, debating whether or not to text the boy he was coming over. After all, he didn't know if dropping in unannounced would be annoying or not.
Yet after a moment of thinking, Soobin huffed, shoving his phone back in his pocket without sending a text. He was going to see just how much he could test the elder's limits with this.
A short walk took him to Yeonjun's house, and Soobin was glad that he'd remembered correctly how to get there. It would be helpful for future reference, at least.
Soobin walked up to the door, rather nervous. To be honest, he hadn't thought the plan out much. What if he was too busy to see him? What if he wasn't even at home?
His body acted on its own at this point, ringing the doorbell as to get the attention of the house's occupant.
He waited. Soobin stared at the grass in front of the house as he stood in silence, tapping his feet in anticipation.
The door swung open, immediately making Soobin whip around to look.
"Hey, sorry if it's..." Soobin trailed off, registering the face of who exactly had answered the door.
"Oh... who are... you?" Soobin mumbled, increasingly embarrassed as a boy around his age looked him up and down.
"More like who are you?" the boy asked. He was brunette, a few inches shorter than Soobin. Had he gotten the wrong house?
Soobin glanced up at the building. Nah, it was definitely the right place.
The boy at the door took in Soobin's nervous demeanor and seemed to think for a moment. "You here for Yeonjun?" he asked.
Soobin gave a tiny nod, and the boy at the door turned to look behind him.
"Yeonjun!" he yelled back into the house. "There's someone looking for you!"
A few seconds of silence passed by.
"Who?" the voice of Yeonjun came in reply from far off in the building.
The brunette boy looked at Soobin. "What's your name?" he asked.
"Um... Soobin?" spoke said boy.
"He says his name is Soobin!" the stranger relayed the information back.
Incredibly on time, the sound of a loud bang came from inside the house, as if something had hit a wall.
The shorter boy stared back into the house with concern, wondering just what all of the noise was about.
An awkward minute passed by, with both standing at the door confused.
Eventually, the sound of footsteps running down the hallway appeared.
Yeonjun came into view, pushing his own hair back as he jogged over to the door.
"Why did you change...?" the boy at the door muttered as Yeonjun practically shoved past him to get to the newcomer.
Soobin was startled yet pleased as Yeonjun wrapped his arms around his waist, picking him just slightly off the ground in his tight hug.
"Bin," he felt Yeonjun say up against his neck, "why didn't you tell me you were coming?"
Yeonjun pulled away from him, yet remained holding the other's shoulders as he kept eye contact.
Soobin panicked, not knowing how to explain his motive when directly questioned.
"Um. I dunno, I was just out and kinda ended up over here," Soobin blatantly lied, a bit squirmy under Yeonjun's gaze.
He'd never felt more relieved than when Yeonjun smiled at the answer, reaching up to gently brush Soobin's bangs to the side.
"Come in. I'm not busy," he said, taking both of Soobin's hands and starting to lead him backwards into the house.
"The fuck you mean you're not busy..." the boy from the side started to speak, but shut up instantly as Yeonjun sent him a hostile glare.
"Taehyun, you were leaving soon anyway," Yeonjun said, a forced smile on his face as if to cover the threat he was delivering.
The boy, Taehyun, sighed, as if accepting defeat.
"Okay, Jun. But remember what we talked about... don't start skipping your doses, and..." Taehyun stopped talking as Yeonjun gave him a look that blatantly pleaded for him to shut up.
Soobin felt quite out of place watching the two interact. He, frankly, had no idea what they were even talking about, and had the strange feeling that Yeonjun wouldn't want him to ask.
"I'll see you tomorrow, then," Taehyun waved, checking to make sure he had his phone before turning and walking over to the sidewalk.
Soobin watched the boy leave, still wondering exactly who he was.
"He's just a friend of mine," Yeonjun explained way too quickly, before the younger had even asked.
Soobin returned his attention to Yeonjun, nodding. "You didn't have to kick him out, I wouldn't mind it..." he mumbled, secretly happy about the aspect of being alone with the elder.
Yeonjun exhaled at this. "Nah. I'm doing him a favor, really," he continued, Soobin not sure just what he meant by that comment.
The two walked inside the house, with Yeonjun closing the door behind them.
"So," Yeonjun spoke as soon as the door closed, "Now that he's gone," he said, turning to face the younger.
"I know you were lying, Binnie," Yeonjun stated, his voice a rather quiet, intimate tone as he spoke to Soobin.
Soobin blinked at this. "Huh?" was all he could respond.
Yeonjun only gave him a mischievous smile, stepping closer as he reached up to stroke the back of Soobin's head.
"Your hair's still damp. You had to have showered and then came straight here," he reasoned.
Soobin should've felt embarrassed to be caught in the lie, yet found himself hung up on the look that the elder was giving him.
He wracked his brain for a response that he thought would please Yeonjun the most.
"Sorry," Soobin said with a shyness, hoping the subtle flirting he was attempting would get across. "I just wanted to cuddle some," he tried.
Yeonjun grinned at this, his hands still holding the back of Soobin's head. "My room or here?" Yeonjun asked, totally down for it.
"Your... room?" Soobin replied, with Yeonjun nodding in response. Yeonjun took him by the hand, strolling further into the house and down the hall to said location.
Soobin stepped into the room feeling just a bit flustered. He remembered all too vividly what he'd thought about here last time.
"Get comfortable, I'll put on some music," Yeonjun said, leaving Soobin's side to walk over to a small speaker.
Soobin made his way to Yeonjun's bed, sitting on the edge. He took off his shoes before shifting to the middle, pulling the blanket over him as he laid back on a pillow.
Yeonjun pressed a button on the speaker, and a tune began playing quietly as a sort of background noise.
Soobin watched the elder as he strolled towards the bed, hopping on it as well. Yeonjun, sitting next to him, brought the blanket over himself as well.
"Can you plug this in for me?" Yeonjun asked, placing his phone in Soobin's hand and pointing at a charger on the bedstand.
Soobin turned over as to do so, feeling somewhat flattered by the idea that the elder wouldn't even have his phone on him.
He thought for a moment, before taking out his own phone and placing it next to the other's, out of reach.
As he turned back around, he nearly had a heart attack upon coming face to face with Yeonjun, who'd scooted towards him while he wasn't looking.
Yeonjun slipped a hand over Soobin's waist and pulled the boy towards him, more confident than he'd seemed last time they did this.
"Jun," Soobin said, his whole being urging him to snuggle up closer. "You wanna talk today or just...?"
Yeonjun placed a hand on Soobin's cheek, gently holding his face.
He didn't reply, instead gazing at Soobin for a moment like he was distracted.
"Jun...?" Soobin repeated, snapping the elder out of it.
Yeonjun hugged the other tight at once, nuzzling the top of Soobin's head. "Can I be honest with you for a second?" he murmured, lightly rubbing Soobin's back.
Soobin, although startled, relaxed into Yeonjun's touch as if it were only natural. His silence told the other to continue.
"Just..." Yeonjun started, gently petting Soobin's hair, "It's nice... I don't get to be like this very often."
"Hm?" Soobin said, not entirely knowing what he was implying.
Yeonjun let out a deep breath.
"With my friends, we're usually kinda just... aggressive? I dunno," he began explaining, his voice hesitant.
"I'm... very affectionate naturally. Almost too much; they find it annoying."
Soobin almost scoffed. "How do they find this annoying?" he commented.
Yeonjun was incredibly warm and nice to cuddle with, although Soobin wasn't sure how much his emotions influenced that opinion.
The elder let out a cute laugh in return.
"Preference, I guess. Do you tend to...?" Yeonjun began to ask, but cut himself off. "Ah, never mind."
"What?" Soobin returned, curious. Yeonjun played with his hair in silence.
"It was gonna be a dumb question. Never mind."
"Jun," Soobin insisted. "Ask me," he said, now really wanting to know.
"I was gonna ask if you tend to be very cuddly with your... partners," Yeonjun answered, his voice lowered. "But like, you've never... right?"
"Oh—" Soobin immediately took on an embarrassed tone. "Yeah... I've never had a boyfriend," he replied, placing just a little emphasis on the last word.
"Well. You have lots of time, don't start... hurrying to look or anything," Yeonjun murmured rather immediately in response.
A silence draped gently over them, both taking a moment to sort through their thoughts.
"I know you have... a lot of experience," Soobin said quietly, almost afraid to bring up the topic.
Yeonjun nodded, the younger feeling it against his head.
"Don't envy me. It's not all fun and games," he replied.
Soobin stayed silent as to listen, playing with the fabric on the back of Yeonjun's shirt.
"For real..." Yeonjun paused, composing himself. "Sometimes it feels like maybe I'm not meant to be with anyone."
"What?" Soobin responded, concerned at this thought process. "You kidding?"
Yeonjun only buried his face against Soobin's hair.
"No, bunny," he said, his voice strikingly downtrodden. "They just always leave. What am I supposed to think?"
"You're supposed to think that they're dumbasses," Soobin retorted, too busy being secondhand-mad to notice the pet name.
Yeonjun lightly laughed at this. "Maybe. Either way, it still hurts, y'know."
"Could you turn off my lamp?" Yeonjun asked, changing the topic.
Soobin murmured an okay, pulling away from Yeonjun.
Soobin rolled over as to face the beside table, reaching out and switching the light off.
Before he could even blink, a pair of strong arms wrapped around his waist from the back, pulling him towards their owner's body.
"Jun..." Soobin trailed off as Yeonjun embraced him, nuzzling against the back of his neck.
"Let me have this," he pleaded quietly.
"I wasn't complaining," Soobin assured immediately. He brought a hand down near Yeonjun's, but hesitated for a moment.
Ah, fuck it. Soobin didn't care anymore. He placed a hand over Yeonjun's, interlocking their fingers and squeezing it.
And then— Yeonjun placed a soft kiss on the back of Soobin's neck... an action he committed almost like it was a casual thing.
It was like a rush of dopamine; a warm giddy feeling that suddenly took over Soobin's brain. All he knew was he wanted Yeonjun to repeat that a hundred more times.
Yet he knew there was no way he could bring himself to ask for that.
Thus he stayed silent as Yeonjun rested his head down against the pillow, closing his eyes for a monent.
It took all of Soobin's willpower to not turn around and stare at him.
Okay, maybe Soobin liked him more than just a little bit.
