Soobin sat on Yeonjun's bed, his phone illuminating his face in the dark room.
It was rather late in the evening, although not quite midnight yet. Soobin had followed Yeonjun back to his house hours earlier, just after school had gotten out.
The light haired boy in question laid down on the bed next to him, his laptop open and on his lap. Yeonjun seemed to be doing some last minute math assignment that he'd suddenly remembered was due at 11:59.
Soobin yawned lightly, setting his phone down.
"Aren't you tired?" he asked, feeling quite sluggish himself after spending up all of his energy that afternoon.
"I always am," Yeonjun replied, monotone, not even taking his eyes off of his laptop.
Soobin watched him for a moment.
"Um. It's getting kinda late," he said.
"Should I go?"
At this, Yeonjun glanced up at him.
"No... why would you go out at this time of night? It's dangerous," he said, as if scolding a child.
Soobin rolled his eyes at this. "It's not even that late."
Yeonjun shut his laptop, placing it on the bed next to him.
"Come here," he said, holding both arms out.
Soobin stared at him.
"Why?"
"You wanna leave because you're bored, right? Come, let's cuddle," Yeonjun sat up, tugging on the younger's wrist.
It was like Soobin's soul had been stolen from his body.
"Wait, I don't want to leave, I just thought..." he stopped talking as he made eye contact with Yeonjun. Whatever, at least it was an opportunity.
Within ten seconds he was plopped down on top of the elder, Yeonjun's left arm around his waist while the other was pulling the blanket up over them.
Soobin laid his head on Yeonjun's shoulder, finding himself to be quite comfortable. As usual, Yeonjun was quite warm, a pleasant difference from the colder room.
The pair were comfortably silent, neither finding a subject to chat over. Yeonjun only laid a hand on Soobin's shoulder, absentmindedly stroking it back and forth with a thumb.
Soobin smiled to himself as he nuzzled up against Yeonjun's neck, hearing the other laugh quietly at the feeling.
Yeonjun still smelled as yummy as ever, so the close proximity was a little more than intentional.
"Binnnn," Yeonjun whined, a giggle to his voice. "Your hair's long... it tickles."
Soobin hummed at this, amused.
"You can deal. I'm not moving."
Yeonjun merely exhaled, bringing a hand up and lightly brushing Soobin's hair down and away from his chin.
"You used to be so shy and nice..." Yeonjun sighed, jokingly. "What happened?"
"Shouldn't have let me get comfortable," Soobin responded, blowing on Yeonjun's neck just to be annoying.
Yeonjun flinched at this and looked down, lightly swatting at Soobin to stop. He gently pinched one of his cheeks in an attempt to bother him, but stopped in surprise.
"Oh my god-" Yeonjun said, looking down at the younger, who stared at him questioningly.
"These are..." he trailed off, squishing both of Soobin's cheeks with his hands. Soobin had no idea what to say to this, and felt a little flustered at the gesture.
"What...?" Soobin tried.
"Cute," the elder mumbled, poking a finger at his cheek. "So cute."
Soobin only stared at him with wide eyes.
"Why didn't I notice this before?" Yeonjun whispered mostly to himself. "You have little bunny cheeks!!"
Soobin felt his face heating up.
"It's really not that cute...
I kinda forgot they're like that."
"No, I don't think you understand, I am obsessed," Yeonjun quoted, making Soobin crack up in laughter.
"Please," Soobin replied, "You're the only person that thinks they're cute."
"So what you're saying is they're all mine then?" Yeonjun gave him an annoying grin.
"I—" Soobin failed to form an argument. Part of him really just wanted to agree.
"Yeah, they're yours," he gave in, internally cursing at himself for being such a pushover.
"Well! Thank you lord for this meal I'm about to have," Yeonjun announced in a joking tone, before leaning in as if to bite one of Soobin's cheeks.
"HEY," Soobin swatted him away, suddenly in a giggly mood. "Not for eating!"
"Why not for eating?" Yeonjun questioned playfully, a dumb smile on his face.
"Attached to me!" Soobin answered, his giddy expression mirroring the elder's.
"Okayyy, just this then, I guess," the boy spoke, leaning once more towards Soobin. Yeonjun nudged Soobin's cheek with his nose, making the younger give a soft laugh.
Yet Soobin went silent as he recognized the feeling of a soft kiss against his cheek, so light that he could've missed it had he not been paying attention.
Soobin watched Yeonjun closely, seeing the boy lay his head next to the younger's as if he hadn't just kicked Soobin straight into the afterlife.
"God..." Yeonjun murmured. "Why do you put up with me?"
Soobin was too busy losing his mind over the cheek kiss to properly process that comment.
"Huh...?" was all he said.
"It's okay. Just thinking out loud," Yeonjun waved it off.
"I might take a nap, if you don't mind," Yeonjun said, closing his eyes, yet peeking to see Soobin's response.
"Oh, sure... I might too, actually," Soobin said, getting comfortable lying down.
"Night then, Soobin," Yeonjun said with a calm smile.
Soobin sat for a moment, looking at him.
"Junnie..." he spoke quietly, unsure of why he was even saying it.
Yeonjun immediately opened his eyes. "Hm?" he said, a little excited at hearing the nickname.
"It's not putting up with you. I really... like being with—"
"Binnie. Goodnight," Yeonjun interrupted, biting back a grin as he closed his eyes again.
Soobin exhaled at this, closing his eyes too.
And yet, he had just the smallest feeling that something was off.
