The loud banter of students echoed in the hallways, lockers slamming as the kids grabbed their belongings.
Soobin walked silently down the hallway, heading to his own locker. He wasn't in any particular hurry to leave now that class had gotten out, and took his time to stroll to his destination.
He looked down the hall, seeing Yeji engaged in conversation with a girl he didn't recognize. Soobin internally sighed. He couldn't go up to her now, crossing his best friend off the list of solutions to his boredom.
The trip to his locker was rather quick, and before Soobin knew it he'd grabbed his things and was completely ready to leave. Yet...
Something didn't feel right. He lingered in front of his locker, glancing at every person who walked by.
He had stood in place for around fifteen minutes, looking at some YouTube video on his phone, when he felt the unmistakable sensation of being watched.
Soobin looked up, scanning the area only to see the regular students passing by.
Yeah, something was definitely wrong. Soobin, slightly suspicious, returned to using his phone despite paying now greater attention to his surroundings.
The feeling immediately returned. Soobin forced himself to not look up, wanting to see how the situation would play out.
The sound of light footsteps pattered over, before a bang on the locker next to him startled the hell out of Soobin.
He looked to his side, seeing a boy around his height leaning against the wall. A mischievous smile graced the boy's face as he looked Soobin up and down.
"Soobin?" he spoke, almost sending said teen into fight or flight mode.
"Yeah...?" Soobin responded, staring at the face of the other boy. Did he know him? Soobin felt too embarrassed to ask the boy if they'd ever met before, in fear that they had and he didn't remember.
The boy grinned, just wide enough for Soobin to catch a glimpse of his teeth.
He blinked upon seeing the other's sharper than average canines, giving the boy the appearance of a cute vampire. Soobin didn't know why he felt his breath hitch at the sight. Those teeth weren't normal for a human, were they?
"Might as well take a picture if you're gonna stare like that," the boy's voice came, causing Soobin to flinch.
"Oh... sorry, I just..." Soobin, embarrassed, tried to explain himself.
His eyes widened as the other boy stepped forward, delicately tracing a finger along the side of Soobin's neck.
"You gonna stop looking? Or do I have to leave two holes in your pretty skin here?" the boy threatened, his dark tone laced with just a slight air of playfulness.
Soobin had no idea what to do but blink. Who the hell was this guy? And why...?
The sound of Soobin's phone buzzing grabbed both boys' attention. He slipped his phone out of his pocket, thankful for the momentary distraction.

Yeonjun:
Binnnn ( ˘͈ ᵕ ˘͈♡)
Are you still at school?
There's this place near here that makes good dalgona coffee... if u get what I'm sayin 👀
_
Soobin subconsciously smiled at the text, reaching down to formulate a response. Yet before he could type, the strange boy grabbed him by the arm, yanking him rather roughly as to follow him down the hallway.
"Hey— what the hell..." Soobin stumbled to keep up behind the boy, unable to escape his grip. A nervous feeling washed over him as he tried to pull his arm away. This stranger felt weirdly strong, and Soobin didn't know what to do about it.
"Who are you...?" Soobin squeaked as the wavy haired boy pulled him down the hallway and towards the back exit of the school.
The boy only gave him a smirk as he shoved the door open, leading Soobin outside the back of the school building.
The buzz of Soobin's phone once more grabbed his attention, and he looked down at the device which still remained on in his free hand.

Yeonjun:
Seen...
It's okay if you don't wanna go ☹️
_
Soobin didn't know why panic shot through his body at this, and automatically fumbled to type a response despite only having one hand free.
Next thing he knew he had been backed up against the rough brick wall of the building, eyes wide as the wavy haired stranger stood in front of him.
"You smell way too much like him," the boy scolded under his breath, his demeanor having changed dramatically from the flirty tone he'd once had.
"Huh?" was all Soobin said, more scared than anything else.
"You wanna get fuckin killed? Buy a perfume or some shit," the boy said, running a hand through his hair in exasperation.
"What are you talking about...?" Soobin said, a bit shaky as he tried to shove his phone in his pocket.
He realized his mistake at the sound of a button being pressed. Glancing down, both looked at Soobin's finger which had slipped onto his phone's screen, pressing a small icon in the top corner.
Calling Yeonjun...
"Oh, fuck..." Soobin said, with the other boy hurriedly attempting to grab the phone out of Soobin's hands.
A click resounded. "Um... yeah?" came Yeonjun's voice, his tone laced with confusion.
"Sorry... I didn't mean to..." Soobin muttered, seeing the other boy physically cringe at the situation.
"Hang up. Hang up, god," the stranger hissed at Soobin, not wanting to be heard.
"Why?" Soobin whispered back, "I need to tell him—"
"For fuck's sake Soobin, hang up!" the other insisted, letting his voice get just a little too loud towards the end.
"Kai...?" the voice over the phone said. A long silence ensued, the two outside staring at each other in anticipation.
"I swear to god Kai, are you at my school? What the hell. Leave him alone, I'll kill you," Yeonjun ranted over the phone.
Soobin stared at the boy across from him who rolled his eyes at the words. This was the person he'd seen Yeonjun texting?
"No. Come here and get your little oxytocin booster yourself, he looks scared as hell," the boy, Kai, said into the phone. "When you get here we need to talk."
Only a sigh came through the speakers. "God, you could have just called me instead of this. Where are you?" Yeonjun gave up.
"In back of the school. Hurry up," Kai responded, pressing the 'hang up' button immediately.
Soobin only stared at him like a deer in headlights as a silence fell over the two, the pair alone and awkward.
After a couple minutes the back door of the school swung open, a slightly out of breath boy quickly stepping into the area.
"Kai, I swear..." Yeonjun started as he strided over to the two, seeing Soobin backed up in fear against the wall by Kai.
He sidled up next to Soobin, lightly shoving Kai back from the two as to create more distance between them.
"What do you want?" Yeonjun questioned tiredly, seeing Kai look Soobin up and down with concern.
Soobin's nervous mind didn't even register he was doing anything until he felt his own fingers grabbing at the hand of the boy next to him.
Yeonjun seemed pleasantly surprised by this, and took Soobin's hand into his own without hesitance.
"I just wanted the meds, but I ran into him and I just..." Kai explained, seemingly bothered by something.
"Like are you insane? Why the hell are you imprinting him already?" Kai ranted, gesturing at Soobin despite arguing with Yeonjun.
Yeonjun furrowed his brows. "I can't imprint on him, dumbass. Humans can't do that," Yeonjun retaliated.
Soobin only glanced between the two, having no idea what they were even arguing about.
Kai only gave Yeonjun a pointed look. "Just because humans can't..." he started, exasperated.
"Hyuka, can't we fight about this later? I'm really not in the mood for it," Yeonjun pleaded, sensing the confusion of the boy next to him.
"Fine. But don't blame me if Taehyun beats your ass when you come back tonight," Kai shrugged. He took a step towards the door before pausing.
"Also, if Gyu asks, I was never here," Kai stated, before turning on his heel and striding towards the door, disappearing into the school building.
The two boys remaining outside stared at the door where Kai had left, neither knowing what to say to each other.
Yeonjun turned to face Soobin, pursing his lips as he tried to think of some way to lower the awkward tension in the air.
"Sorry..." Yeonjun started, cringing at his own tone. "My friend can be kind of, uh, weird sometimes," he tried to explain.
Soobin nodded, a bit dazed. "Why... why don't we just go get coffee?" Soobin changed the subject, not wanting to dwell on what had just happened.
Yeonjun nodded in agreement, turning to walk towards the door. He felt himself tugged back by his hand, which was still held in Soobin's.
Soobin quickly noticed this, letting him go. He muttered an apology as he followed behind Yeonjun, who had put both hands in his hoodie's front pocket.
Yeonjun swimply swung the door open, gesturing for Soobin to go in first.
All Soobin knew was that he had a lot of questions.
Especially ones he was afraid to ask.
