My name is Park Chaeyoung. I was 19 when my life turned upside down.

I didn't have a big family. It was only my grandmother and I. My parents passed away in a car accident when I was 8. I studied in a college that was not too far from home and somehow managed to ace my examinations.
I worked part-time as a waitress in a hotel. Everything was great.
I didn't expect anything to happen to me soon......

It was December 30th. I was tired after a long day of work and decided to go home using a shortcut. The shortcut was through a creepy looking alley I'd passed a couple of times on my way home.
I stopped in front of the dark alley, hesitating. I chided myself, "Its just an alley!! Why're you so scared, Chae??" I took a step forward and entered the alley.
I walked for a few minutes before I felt a hand clamping around my mouth and muscular arms dragging me to a dark corner. I was pushed against a wall roughly and I groaned. I took a good look at the person and it turned out to be a boy. He had doe eyes and looked around my age. I couldn't see his nose and mouth because he was wearing a mask. He slammed me against the wall again and I cried out in pain feeling a broken spine.
He punched my stomach and I sank onto my knees cradling myself. "What do you want from me?", I managed to croak out through my pain. I expected him to say he wanted my wallet or so. But what I didn't expect him to say was....
"Your life"
Suddenly I saw a boy at the other end of the alley. His eyes widened when he saw me and and ran forward to help. He yelled," Hey! Leave her alone!".
At that moment I felt something oozing out of me. I looked down and saw a puddle of blood around me. The last thing I heard was the scream of the boy who tried to save me. And then I blacked out.
