~*The Trap*~
The two-hour drive was infuriating for Devian as worry gripped his mind and body. He closed his eyes and each time he would see Queen dying in front of him. The sharp jab of pain in his chest surprised him. He was a loser, he had to live through the pain of unrequited love and now he was down that hole again.
Here we was, rushing to the rescue of the girl whose life he swore to make miserable.
Police cars available in the area indicated that they reached the right point. There was indeed a dead body while few local farm owners were answering questions concerning the disappearance of the girl. Devian was losing his mind over the fact that Delia was somewhere in danger and he didn't know about it.
"Paulo I need you to stay with the police and I will take the car and look around." He said losing patience as the sun started setting.
Paulo nodded not contradicting anything that his boss was saying at the moment.

"Delia, please, please be safe." He whispered to himself as he drove around the area with no or few people and his minds perceived the worst of the thoughts.
When he used to guard the Queen, her inner energy was brighter than others, being the holder of the light. That is how he kept her track and can find her among the crowd or the largest of the forest. He stopped the car and inhaled sharply. Hoping that Delia still carried the same light in her being the incarnation he closed his eyes and concentrated on locating her soul instead of her body.
It took him moments to find that amount of light.
His heart stopped at the intensity of brightness and he realized that she was brighter than the Queen ever was. She was pure light, her soul had all the luster her life lacked and it shocked him that someone so bright couldn't see the darkness inside him.
He followed the light and found a large empty wooden shed at the back of a farm. The wooden shed was open and he could see the stack of hay and sacks inside. It was dark and he could hear no sound so he rushed inside and saw her body lying in the middle of the shed. She was breathing and that was enough for him right now.
He ran to her and sat down next to her.
Overcoming the horror of seeing her pale and injured, he called out her name.
"Delia." He said softly not believing himself to be such a weak person.
She didn't stir, there were finger marks on her neck, few cuts on her arm made by dragging her. Her lips were bluish and her skin was pale.
He got closer and pulled her on his lap while shaking her lightly.
"Delia, please wake up." He mumbled not letting emotion weaken him further.
His thumb lightly brushed over cheek and she stirred.
"Delia." And her eyes fluttered open as gasped clutching her chest.
"What is wrong?" He asked and without even realizing he had tears in his eyes.
"I am f-fine." She said and coughed hard.
She was choked too hard and overpowered by the feeling of protecting her, he pulled her closer for a hug.
She sighed and wrapped her free arm around her. He was here, again, to save her.
"Thank you." He whispered in her hair and hugged her even tighter.
"Let me breathe." She chuckled into the tight embrace.
He loosened his grip a little and pulled away. His eyes scanned her face with adoration.
"What is it with you and trouble?" He asked with her small form in his lap.
"Bad luck, that's all." She said and remembered suddenly how he was leaving.
"Can you get up or do I need to carry you?" He asked in all seriousness.
"You were supposed to leave today." She said trying to get up on her own making her wince in the process.
On which Devian felt silent and helped her to get up, she felt dizzy on sudden movement and held on to his arm for support. Devian shouldn't, but he felt grateful for her to be forgiving.
He was living her without even saying a word.
"I couldn't leave." He stated as truthfully as possible.
She wanted to ask why but she couldn't make the mistake of being hopeful again.
"Something weird attacked me today, you wouldn't believe." She changed the topic.
"Tell me." He insisted trying to convey he would believe anything that she would say.
She hesitated for a moment but then decided to answer, "human shaped smog."
And mentally winced on saying it out loud.
She peaked at his reaction and was surprised to find him shocked.
"What?"He said and stopped.
"It's stupid but I am not lying."
"I know you are not." He said and pulled her in for a hug again.
She felt emotional all of a sudden and the tears in her eyes flowed down.
"Please don't do this." She said her voice choking with grief.
And he stopped again, concerned at her heartbreaking tone.
"What?"
"Stop being so nice and helping me. I know this is just a dream and it will end. Nothing good ever comes in my life and even if it comes it never stays." She said feeling embarrassed at herself for saying all this.
Blinking back her tears she looked away. She did not want to sound offended or hurt at him leaving but it just came out in a fit of emotion and near death situation she just faced.
Devian couldn't speak and he just stared at her, her tears that flowed freely. He was successful, she was hurt because of him. But he felt nowhere close to successful.
Like for him, she was a dream, he was also a dream to her. Once she knows what he did, she will consider him a nightmare. He played with her emotions and used her weakness.
Yet she thought that he was good and wanted him to stay. Can he? Should he? She nearly died because of him but he was also the best that can protect her right now. She had no one who can protect her except him. Even Melaney was friends with her because he was paying her to do so.
But he still had no idea why her roommate was good to her or why she was born with such poor luck.
She can't come along with him because she was a student here.
The air around them got colder and everything passed slowly as they stared at each other. Unlike herself, Delia gazed at his face with admiration and sadness like he was a seasonal flower and will wither once the times comes.
Her mind kept telling her to ask him to stay but her mouth refused to open. She was scared that he would outright refuse.
"Say what is on your mind Delia, please?" He pleaded which was not like Devian, the poised gorgeous mysterious man.
He wanted her to say, he wanted her to make him break his resolve.
"Don't go please." She said finally in a small worried tone.
Suddenly the door of the shed closed with a loud thud. Devian and Delia looked at each other in shock and hurried to the door and the worst came to pass, they were locked inside. Obviously, this place had no signal.

Pandora laughed hysterically inside her cage as her plan successfully flowed without any problems. The two people he hated most are a source of her entertainment. Even though she was locked in Hell for some time now, her minions were still around tormenting the so-called Light Guardian and now that Light Queen is reborn it will be fun to mess with them.
It was kind of relief that Light Guardian hated the Queen by himself when she met him but the fool had to go and fall in love all over again. Even when she made the girl's fate as painful as possible from behind the bars.
But now it seems Light Guardian walked into a trap himself. He wanted to torment her, Pandora smiled to herself thinking that she will help him now. It was almost tragic how these two were tangled in ill-fated love but that was nothing compared to what Pandora had in mind for them who made her a prisoner in her own home.
A Fury came over to slide in food to Pandora interrupting her thoughts.
"Two days from now kill one more." She said her black lips rising in a six-inch smile as Fury nodded at her command.
Just a few more days and the darkness inside him will make Light Guardian her puppet and he will set her free because there is a limit to carrying all that darkness.
