~*The Reality*~
It would have been better if dream ended, instead, it shattered.
The reality hit hard and Devian felt like Cinderella as the clock hit twelve and a scream echoed through the halls. A woman ran frantically out of the washroom and told the gathering about the dead body found.
The intensely kissed Delia came out of the trance and realized that someone was killed, again.
While Devian felt miserable at how greedy he could be and continue living in the town when he needed to remove all the darkness from here. But then he felt the tug on his sleeve and saw a shocked terrified looking Delia.
Her small form made him helpless.
But the dream ended now. And he needed to go, needed to leave this place. Needed to leave her because it was now impossible for him to hurt her without hurting himself. There will be a time when she will be put to trial and when her memories will return and he might get back to hating her.
But right now his care for Delia was more than hate for Queen.
"Delia, let me drop you home." He said in a serious tone his heart aching at what he was about to do.

After that the soul-searing kiss, Devian went silent on Delia.
And she felt weird standing in front of his painting in the gallery during her work hours there. The painting still made her emotional and she had no idea why but it wasn' that bad. Her heart would still ache but she didn't feel like crying.
"Hello, Delia." Paulo's voice greeted her from behind.
She jumped a little surprised at his greeting.
"Hi, Paulo." She smiled at him.
He was right now her sole medium to know about Devian. She could just go to his house but it was different now. She was letting Devian decide this. She didn't want to look like some clingy girl and she was scared that maybe Devian didn't like her that much.
"Can you help me with that painting?" He asked as he punched in the code for the glass container.
"Why? Are you changing it? I love this one though." She said hurriedly worried that this painting will be replaced by some other artwork as the centerpiece.
"No, Devian is leaving and this has to go with us." He said.
And Delia felt her heart drop.
"Leaving?" She hoped it meant vacation or something like that.
He can't leave, this whole university belongs to him.
"Yes, he is shifting to a different place for business purposes," Paulo added lamely.
He might be killed by Devian if he knew that Paulo told Delia about them leaving.
"Different place, like forever?" She asked tears threatening to form in her eyes.
Of course, he was too good to be true.
"Yes, Delia." He said and waited for her to get in panic mood.
Maybe try her best to stop Devian, cure him like Paulo hoped that she would.
"Oh, Okay. I wish him luck for his future endeavors."
Paulo was aggravated at Delia, at how she undermined herself. She was not even trying to put hope in her feelings for Devian and just letting him go. The pain was evident on her face but she gave him a small smile and left.
"Would you like to meet him before he leaves?" Paulo tried again.
"No thank you, Paulo. He must be busy packing up. I better not take up his time. And if he wanted to meet me he would have told me he is leaving." She said with slight bitterness when she knew she had no right.
That kiss was indeed a dream.
Paulo sighed and racked his brain for any more ideas. But Delia was hopeless. She was so closed to love that she can't even see it standing right in front of her. She thought she is not worth anyone's time.
"Paulo." She suddenly said and he immediately stopped hoping for something better.
"Did he see my painting?" She asked and not to break her heart Paulo lied, "He did. He likes it very much. He is taking it with him."
A relief crossed her face as she nodded.
Paulo waited for her to say something more but that was it.
There was no helping two hopeless people on the planet when it came to love.

The field trip was arranged by their teacher for two reasons, one to get inspiration and secondly because it was a test to see how much students can gain from this trip. It was a two-hour drive from the town and the google search showed was a lush green area with small lakes and a lot of ground used for farming and small farmhouses.
It had a peaceful countryside vibe without the unnecessary noise of vehicles and people.
And even though everything was beautiful and calm around, Delia didn't feel good. Her heart felt uneasy and everything around felt sad. Several times she would break into tears thinking about losing Devian. Few months only but she came to trust the man, like him more than she should but as her luck would allow he was leaving.
She should never have gotten attached to him, never get habitual to his help, never become dependant on him. After all, she is left alone just like she always is.
Feeling utterly depressed, she was walking separately from her peers. The field trip came at the worst time because not only she felt the least inspired, she felt like curling up in her bed and sleep all day, forget about Devian.
It was not like they were dating but she felt heartbroken.
Even though Melaney kept trying to keep up with her, but she had her own work to do as with time she left her alone as Delia grew silent and tired. She kept walking beside the wooden fence created around a farm. She could still spot cows grazing in the field but as she kept walking thinking about all the things she did wrong to make Devian leave just after he kissed her.
After walking a while she realized she came too far from where her teacher and class was gathered.
But her eyes caught another student sitting near a tree with a sketchbook as she drew and Delia sighed in relief. And suddenly she had the thought to call up Devian, just because she should. He was leaving, she could just gather courage and bid him farewell. She could just try once.
Her mobile had no network so she walked towards the student drawing to request for the phone but as she walked closer, she noticed black smog rise behind the student who was busy drawing, earphones plugged in her ears. Delia stopped in the path and her mind froze in fear as the black smog formed into a human shape and stretched out its hand to grab student's neck.
"STOP!" Delia surprised herself and the smog at the yelling.
She didn't know where the courage came from but she can't just stand there and see someone die.
The student looked up and removed the earplugs.
"Yes?" She asked frowning at Delia for interrupting her.
"I- I..." Delia was at loss for words as she pointed at the back of the student.
The student yelped and fell ahead, losing her balance while trying to get up.
"What is this?" She asked Delia like she was supposed to know.
The smog shaped human came closer but it seems like his target changed and he was walking towards Delia. Delia blinked and next moment it was next to her clutching her neck too tightly.
The other girl ran away not even bothering to stay back and help Delia but the smog reached out and simply by one touch, it killed her. Delia saw her body go pale and a familiar mark form on her forehead.
Delia was too terrified to speak as she saw her drop dead and the smog now lifted her, choking her hard. Lack of oxygen and brain filled with fear took over and Delia succumbed to darkness.

"Sir, there has been an issue," Paulo told Devian who was sitting alone in the empty house once everything was set to leave.
His heart ached and he wanted for once to die and born again, just him as normal human and Delia as herself and not some reincarnation. Every time he closed his eyes he would see her eyes, her smile, her trust in him, her small form always bundled in clothing too big for her.
He can't accept these feelings because if he did, he felt like a fool. He started this for revenge but he was back to square one. He had a feeling for Queen, someone he could never get and now Delia, someone he shouldn't get.
"What is it?" He asked not looking up else Paulo would see the distress in his eyes.
"Miss Miller is missing." He said and Devian got up in shock.
"What?" He said in a loud tone.
"She went for the college trip this morning and one student is found dead while Miss Miller is missing," Paulo informed him, himself worried for the girl.
Devian gulped and panic gripped his body.
"Where?" He asked anger and worry hitting him hard.
"Near the farmhouses."
He pinched his brows, exasperated. He inhaled sharply and closed his eyes. Paulo noticed tears escape his eyes and surprised at Devian's composure Paulo reminded him just to check.
"You have a flight in three hours."
And much to Paulo's delight, Devian glared at him.
"I am not going anywhere yet Paulo. Till I know that Delia is safe." He said through gritted teeth as this was a hard decision to make.
But imagining her dead was killing Devian from within. His whole mind and body were choking with worry.
"Shall I get the car out?", Paulo asked, sad that Delia was missing but kind of happy to see how Devian didn't even give a second thought on staying back when he heard that Delia was in danger.
Maybe this was fate giving these unlucky people a chance.
