Your POV

It was a cold night in the Chaos Empire. The moon was full and it shone brightly in the night sky.

But despite the beautiful scenery, it was unnoticed by the Enslaved Miners being forced to work at the late hour.

I was one of them.

I was currently mining some crystals along with a few other Enslaved Miners. We were being guarded by a Marrowkai, who didn't like the idea of staying up all night just to watch us.

With all my energy and strength, I continued mining the crystals. I heard one of the other Enslaved Miners pant before collapsing.

"Get up." The Marrowkai said as he went over to the Enslaved Miner and kicked him. I look away from the scene before continuing to mine.

While mining, I look up at the sky. There were less clouds, allowing me to see some of the twinkling stars that moved across it.

Wait, stars don't move. And they certainly don't make flapping sounds. I dropped my pickaxe and make out a figure flying.

"Hey! Who told you to stop working?" I heard the Marrowkai call out to me. The flapping noises soon became more audible and the other Enslaved Miners heard it too.

"What was that?" One of them asked. The Marrowkai looked into the sky. The figure I saw a while ago was no longer in sight.

But I heard another miner drop his pickaxe. There in front of him, on the crystal he was mining, was a black entity with sky blue eyes, crystals growing from its back, and a chest cavity glowing a light blue.

Most of us were speechless as the entity stayed on the crystal and stared at the miner in front of it.

Suddenly, a burst of mana coming from the entity pushed us off our feet. The Marrowkai got up and proceeded to try to fight it.

He tried to use Hellfists but the creature flew out of his reach. It landed next to me. "This one will do." I heard it say as it grabbed me in its arms and started to fly away.

"Wait, put me down." I struggled against the entity's grip. But it flew higher into the sky. "Do you want me to put you down now?" It asked.

I looked down and saw how much of a fall it would be for me if the entity released me. "I- no." I stuttered. "Thought so." The entity said.

A portal then appeared and me and the entity flew through it. When I open my eyes again, we were in a quiet and peaceful forest surrounded by flowers.

As we landed, I look around. There didn't seem to be anyone nearby. After taking in the scene, I look at the entity that brought me here.

"Why am I in this place?" I asked. "And who are you?" "Name's Void." It replied. "And I brought you here because..."

"...I was going to absorb the mana from your soul-"

I froze after realizing what Void said but I immediately bit his hand, causing him to let go. When he did, I tried to run away.

But I tripped and fell on the grass. Void picked me up and I squirmed in his hands. I tried to bite him again but he put something like a gag in my mouth.

"There, that fixes that issue." He said. "But you didn't let me finish. I WAS going to absorb the mana from your soul...

"...But I suddenly felt guilty for hurting an Enslaved Miner, especially a girl."

"So you're not gonna kill me-?" I asked, my voice being muffled by the gag. Void shook his head. "Nah, I guess I'll keep you here with me. It gets a bit lonely when its just me and my crystal golem." He said.

"Who?" "Nevermind, I'll introduce you to him later." Void carried me and we went deeper into the forest. "Besides, we have all the time to ourselves now."

I smiled as I let him carry me. I guess staying here with Void would be a lot better than being a slave to Chaos.
