If you are a person from the future when Stick War 3 lore has come, please know that I wrote this at a time when fans still knew little about the lore.

Your POV

"THE STATUE HAS FALLEN!"

"QUEEN MEDUSA IS DEAD!"

"EVERYONE RETREAT!"

Panicked voices and shouts filled the room as I ran as fast I could to the room of the princess.

Everything has gone terribly wrong. We clearly underestimated the Order Empire...

...and we payed the price for it.

Our statue was broken and a Spearton decapitated the Queen of the Chaos Empire. Without Medusa, we were lost.

But thats not why Im running.

Before this whole war started, I was assigned a special job: to guard the heir to the throne. Thats right, Petra, Medusa's daughter.

Flashback

"So, are you Y/N?" Queen Medusa asked while I bowed respectfully. "Yes. At your service my queen." I replied. Medusa nodded.

"I called for you because you are one of the best trained Juggerknights in the empire. So I am giving you a job that will last your lifetime." She explained.

"Anything for the Queen of Chaos." I said as I put my hand over my chest. "I would risk all my life for you."

"Your task is to guard my daughter, Petra." Medusa told me. Wait, what? "Wait, guard your daughter?" I asked.

"Yes. I have seen your skills, Y/N. I trust that you can keep my daughter safe for as long as she lives. I can't always be there for her so I wanted to give her a bodyguard." Medusa said.

"Fail in any way, I will personally rip you apart and feed your remains to the Crawlers." She threatened in a dark voice that made me shudder.

After processing everything, I breathed out. "Alright, Queen Medusa. I accept this new job and promise to do my very best in it." I said as Medusa nods in satisfaction.

"Good. Petra is in the other room. Get to know her a bit. Your job starts as soon as possible." Medusa told you as she walked away, accompanied by Marrowkai.

End of flashback

Since that day, it was my duty to make sure Petra was safe. I took it very seriously because if the princess was hurt in any way, it would be my fault.

But Petra saw my job differently. When I first met her, she thought I was someone who was going to be her playmate.

When I explained to her that I was her new bodyguard, Petra was overjoyed to have someone to be her friend.

So aside from ensuring her safety, I also had to entertain Petra. Thankfully, this is in no way humiliating. Petra just wants someone to play and hang out with her since her mom is usually busy.

Petra became more than just a person to guard. She started to be my friend. We cared for each other strongly and Petra promised she would be just as loyal to me as I am to her.

But now, there was no time to waste. I need to get back to Petra and take her out of the castle immediately.

I rushed to her room and as expected she was there, looking out the window worriedly. When she heard me walk in, she immediately ran to me and pulled me into a hug.

"Y/N! I was so worried." She said as I carried the young Gorgon in my arms. "I was worried for you too, princess." I told Petra.

"Y/N, where's mommy? I heard people talking about her. Is she ok?" Petra asked. I stayed silent. I don't know how to explain to Petra what happened to Medusa.

"Petra, um, your mother is, uhh..."

I tried to say it but I couldn't. "Mommy's what?" Petra asked worriedly. I sighed. I needed to tell her the truth.

"Petra, your mother is in a better place, but she isn't with us anymore." I tell the princess as she burst into tears.

"Mommy's dead?" Petra cried as she buried her face in my chest. "But, she said she would be ok. She said Order would get what they deserved. She said..."

"Petra, unexpected things happen." I try to comfort her. "But mommy promised me everything would be ok." Petra continued crying.

"It will." I tell her as I started to walk away with the princess in my arms. "I will protect you. We will find a way. No matter what, I'll always be there for you."

I wiped Petra's tears as she looked into my eyes. "I vowed to protect you until my last day. And I will keep that promise." I told her.

Petra smiled a bit. "So where are we going now?" She asked after a pause. "To the outskirts of Chaos. Hopefully Order won't find us but if they do...

"...I'll be ready for them." I then put on a brave face that made Petra giggle. I put her down and tell her to quickly get ger important things to take with us.

When she was ready, I carried her in my arms again and ran out of the castle to find Marrowkai. I found him and I told him that I had Petra.

He nodded and we retreated under the cover of the darkness and night. We didn't look back and just kept running until we were far enough.

I look at Petra who had fallen asleep in my arms. I sighed as I repeat my promise in my head over and over again.

"I will protect her until my final day."
