Your POV

I waited in the cold cell along with some of my fellow Elementals. Its been days and still we don't know whats to become of us.

Chaos attacked our peaceful island again. This time, they took some of us hostage for their own gain.

Im not sure if V will send a squad to save us. Even if he did, the rescue plan might fail and more Elementals would just be captured.

So now all of us have lost hope. One of my friends, an Earth Elemental, attempted to escape but I heard he was shot down by Eclipsors and Toxic Deads.

Even if that wasn't true, it was enough to scare us. I looked at the other Elementals in their own cells. They were just as hopeless as me.

I sighed and stared into blank space until the doors of the prison opened and someone came in.

I thought it was Marrowkai or a Juggerknight, but it was neither. It was a Gorgon with light red eyes who wore a white dress.

I knew who she was, but I forgot her name. She was the daughter of Medusa, the princess of the Chaos Empire, and the heir to the throne.

She walked from cell to cell while observing each prisoner inside. When she reached my cell, she stopped and looked at me.

"Oooo a Fire Elemental!" She gasped with excitement, probably because I was the only Fire Elemental prisoner.

"You look so cool! Is it true that you can create fire with your bare hands?" She asked me cheerfully. I stayed silent.

"Uhh, yes-" "Can you show me?" "Right now?" "Yes right now!" "I- ok." I did as she asked and created a small flame in the palm of my hand.

"Cooool!" The Gorgon said as I let the flame die down. "I wish mom would stop attacking you guys. We get too much prisoners sometimes."

"What do you do with all of them?" I asked. "My mom allows them to be experimented on or interrogated. But if we have too much, she just kills some of them." The Gorgon replied.

I stopped and started to get worried. I saw the other Elementals get worried as well when they heard what the girl said.

"Who are the ones that are usually killed?" I questioned. The Gorgon shrugged. "The ones who are too weak or injured or someone who my mom sees as useless." She answered.

"What about me and the rest of my friends? What's Medusa planning on Medusa?" "You and your friends might be put in for experiments I think."

I sighed and went to the far corner of my cell. "Aw, don't be sad." The Gorgon said. "Hold on, I have something. Wait here." She then quickly ran out of the prison.

She came back minutes later with a small mana shard. "Here, take it." She told me. "Why would I want this?" I asked as I accepted the crystal.

"You know, because crystals are kinda warm and you're a Fire Elemental soo-" "Wait, I thought crystals were more of cold." I heard a prisoner interrupt.

"Eh, whatever. Its a gift then." The Gorgon smiled. "What's your name by the way?"

"Y/N."

"Mine's Petra."

Few months timeskip

2 Juggerknights shoved me back to my cell. I panted as I struggled to get on my feet. Another experiment. Everyday, they take me in for another long and painful experiment.

I stayed in my corner while waiting for Petra. She always comes by to check on me and my friends and sometimes she tries to heal us.

Petra came as expected. She was horrified at our condition. "What happened to you?!" She asked as she immediately went to my cell.

"Marrowkai was checking if I could take on a pack of Crawlers but I was too weak to fight." I told Petra.

She looked at the others, who suffered different yet equally painful experiments. "This is going on for too long." Petra said. "Tonight, Im gonna help you escape."

"Wait what-" "I don't care if mom will get mad at me. You guys don't deserve this." The Gorgon interrupted.

"Petra, I know you care for us but I'd rather die than let you risk your life for us." I objected.

"Mom was planning to kill you tomorrow." Petra cried. "I can't let that happen. Tonight, I'll sneak you out of the castle. You're on your own from there."

"Are you sure-" "Yes, Im sure. I'll be back tonight." Those were her last words before leaving us.

When nightfall came, Petra went into the prison with the keys in one hand. She quietly unlocked each of the Elementals' cells.

"Follow me." She said once everyone was out. She led us out of the prison, sneaked us past guards, and we eventually reached the castle's entrance.

"This is where I leave you. Your island should be somewhere off the coast so just keep left until you reach the sea." Petra explained.

"Petra, thank you, for everything." I told her as we went through the door. "No problem. Just, promise to do one thing for me." Petra smiled.

"Anything." "Keep the crystal so that you can always remember me." I nodded in response. "I will never forgot you and what you did for us."

"Y/N, lets go." I heard the other Elementals call to me. "Alright, just wait." I called back.

"Goodbye, Petra." I told the Gorgon. "Goodbye, Y/N." She waved sadly as I went with my friends as we were on our way back home.
