AU: Voidling

Context: Someone isn't very happy about the Yellow King (who is actually faceless in disguise) framing Sabre and Rainbow and imprisoning them.

[3rd Person POV]

The sky was pitch black, covered in stars. The world was shaded as if it was a solar eclipse. A colossal being hung from the atmosphere like a bat, arching its spine to face who it was talking to. A familiar sight for Sabre.

This time, the Void was yelling at the Yellow King as he and Rainbow watched from the cells. The guards have been cowering in the corner since it appeared, too scared to be near the door.

"I don't CARE what you think, you vex-faced liar! He did not attack your kingdom, he was with me this whole time!" The Void's voice boomed from a giant face hovering in front of a tower balcony, expression angry. "And so was Rainbow! If you would let them or me explain what we just-"

"My people know what they saw! It was him!" The Yellow King shouts back. The volume of his voice is pathetic in comparison. "He destroyed the entire west quarter of the kingdom! People were injured!"

"FOR THE LAST TIME, WOULD YOU LET ME EXPLAIN OUR SIDE OF THE STORY?! We just fought a shapeshifter out of the Hub, he could change into any person! As soon as he realized we found him out, he punched Sabre, shifted to look like him, and ran through the yellow portal!"

"Likely story! There's no Steve that has shapeshifting abilities, that's ridiculous!"

"And Sabre doesn't have any destructive abilities, you know this! Everyone does! How could he have done that much damage?!"

"How do we know you're telling the truth about his abilities?! You gave them to him! How can we be sure you didn't give him the ability to cause harm and then send him to attack us?!"

The Void grew silent. All light began to fade from the sky above, until the Yellow Kingdom was as dark as night. Only streetlamps and the lights from buildings made everything visible. The Void arched further, moving closer to the balcony the Yellow King was standing on. His face was mere feet away from him.

"...I advise you choose your next words very carefully, little king. Or the falsely judged death sentence you're trying to give my son will be yours, instead."

"Ohhh, he's so screwed." Sabre gave a slight giggle from inside his cell. He could at least find a little humor in this predicament.

"Seriously, what's the king's problem? There's no way he actually believes that was you, right?" Rainbow asks. "That's just stupid."

"Agreed."

A dark mass appears on the back wall of each of their cells, a familiar beckoning hand extending from each. Portals to the Void dimension.

"I guess the Void wants us out of here in case the Yellow King tries anything." Sabre says, turning to his portal.

"Fair enough. He's trying to kill you, dude." Rainbow replies. "Let's get outta here."

"Yeah, we'll figure this out when my life's not in danger."

The duo jumps through the portals, leaving the Yellow King to bicker with the Void.
