[] Day 14: Allegiant []

AU: Creator's Downfall (in case you didn't see the one prompt I wrote with this, basically Origin went insane and now everything sucks.)

Context: There is an exception to 'everything sucks' and you will not believe what it is. Tbh he doesn't believe it either.

[3rd Person POV]

Lightning crackled in the red sky as a chain burst forth from seemingly nothing, piercing the Warden's core and only stopping when it struck the dirt. The Green Village Leader stared in shock on the ground as the hulking creature went limp, the terrifying creature finally going quiet.

As the Warden started to dissipate, the chain was tugged by an invisible force, ripping it from the earth and pulling it out of its disintegrating target. By the time the Warden was gone, a sculk catalyst being the only thing left in its place, the chain had disappeared.

The Green Village Leader got up, shakily, staring at where the chain had dug itself into the grass. He put a hand to his quickly beating heart as he took deep breaths, trying to calm himself. The monster had come out of nowhere, trying to attack him as he foraged what he could for the village. With the Darkness being out again all of a sudden, it was becoming increasingly more difficult for them to look for food sources without finding any of it infected. The river fish were already corrupted, the nearby animals in the wild having been so for even longer. Right now, the few crop gardens they had were more precious than anything else, and they weren't even sure those would last through the quickly changing seasons. So, the people had begun foraging for what they could.

The Green Village Leader suddenly heard a voice, no source in sight.

"Are you unharmed?"

He took a second before answering.

"Y-Yes, Unnamed..." He says, still catching his breath from the scare.

He clasps his hands around the pendant he's wearing, lifting it slightly to gaze into the red gemstone. The black metal was soothingly cold to the touch, but still glowed with a barely visible purplish sheen.

"Good. It's best for you to return to the village with what you have, night is approaching too quickly for you to safely be out there much longer."

"But the village needs food... our supplies are running low."

"The village also needs all of its Leaders to return home intact. Do not worry about the supply, I have plans in motion to take care of that."

"You... you do?"

"Indeed. All I can say for now is to prepare for three new arrivals. Do not be alarmed by their appearances or the growing numbers, they will be able to help you all shortly after they reach us."

"Y-Yes Unnamed... thank you."

"...Return to the village. It will be dark soon."

"Of course."

As the Village Leader let go of his pendant, he heard a strange noise when he looked up. When he turned around, he saw a beautiful ribbon of magenta colored light floating in the air nearby, reminiscent of the blue and green lights in the sky during winter. It moved like an ocean wave, headed in the direction of the village like a guideline made of string.

The Village Leader smiled, and began to follow it home. He hoped the other two Village Leaders didn't run into any trouble like he did as he walked, but knowing how the Unnamed had been protecting them and the villagers for so long, and how he trusted it would keep doing so, he knew he didn't really have any need for concern.

They all owed the Unnamed so much. The least he could do was keep his faith in it.

Observing from his chained metal prison, the First Curse sighed and propped his head up with his hand, sitting cross-legged on the floor of the expanse pocket dimension within the Armor.

That was the third time this month an extremely dangerous monster had been summoned right next to one of his villagers. Who did Origin think he was, doing that? Yes, he created the Chromatics in the first place, but that didn't give him any right to just toy with their lives like that. Not to mention what he had already done to the world itself. What he would have done before he had gotten sealed away for the last few centuries would have been an improvement compared to this mess, for crying out loud.

The Curse sat up and began planning the preparations for the plan he had mentioned to the Village Leader. The builders in the village would need construction materials for the house, but he could give them those easily so that wasn't a problem. However they'd also need to extend the village wall during construction, so he'd have to make a protective barrier around the area for the extension for a little while so they wouldn't get attacked during their work. He could provide the black metal needed to extend the wall, too. Doing such a thing as building the extension would be tedious of course, but he wanted his new arrivals to be safe after all-

The First Curse stopped as he realized what he'd been thinking of for the past ten minutes. Sighing again, he buried his face in his hands and mumbled to himself.

"How did I manage to rope myself into babysitting all of these fools..."
