Your p.o.v

"Well now that we are just friends, we don't have to talk all the time." Her words still echoed in my mind. Amethyst, the gem I thought I would spend the rest of my life with, just flat out dumped me. Why? She won't even tell me. I had been dating her for about, 6 months. She had always brought up getting married and having kids. At the moment, I thought it was great. I was really in love. Then-then that happened. The words that broke my heart.

"I can't do this anymore. It's over. I'm sorry."

I thought my life was over. I was right. And what am I doing right now? Crying in my room. I've been like this for 3 days. The only time I get up is to shower, get water and a little food. "Hey, (Y/n)? How are you doing?" It was Steven. Ever since three days ago, Steven would check up on me every day. "I'm doing terribly." I say. My voice was all cracked and I've almost lost it. "Well today I brought someone that might help." I look over at the boy. "Who?" Steven soon pushes someone in the room, slams the door shut. "My goodness it's dark. Where is the light switch?" Oh, I know who it is. Pearl. We never really talked much. Whenever I would hang out with Amethyst, she would give me dirty looks. We all knew she liked Amethyst. "Oh. Hello Pearl." I say while I turn on a lamp. I was curled up in a little ball so she couldn't see my face. "Let me see your face." Pearl got close to me. I shake my head no from in my little ball. "Look at me." I poke my head out a little to look at Pearl. "If you don't wanna be here, you can leave." I say. "No actually...I asked Steven to bring me here. So I could see you..." Pearl had a small blue blush on her face. "But... I thought you hated me. Cause I was dating Amethyst." Pearl started to laugh a little. "No, why would you ever think that?" "From all the dirty looks you gave me when I was hanging out with Amethyst." Pearl must have found that very funny because she bursted out laughing. "No that wasn't towards you. They were towards Amethyst." Pearl too a small pause. "I looked at Amethyst that way because well you see... I sort of have a crush on you..." I felt my face heat up. "W-what?" Pearl soon realizes what she just said and covers her mouth. "I-I mean... I-I-" I cut her off my pecking her lips. "Wanna spend the day with me?" All Pearl does is nod. "Okay I'm just gonna have a quick shower so I'm not a mess. Be right back." I kiss her cheek and run off to the bathroom.

I turn on the shower and decide to also put on some music. I was just washing my hair when I freeze.

It was mine and Amethyst's song. I quickly rinse all the shampoo from my hair, get dressed and walk over to Pearl. Once I walk out of the bathroom, I notice my room was all clean. It looked like it did a week ago. "Pearl how did you do this is 3 minutes?" Pearl laughs at you. "I have talent- oh my goodness what's wrong." Pearl comes over to me. I didn't even realize I was crying. "I don't like love." The song that reminded you of all those great memories played in the background.

I start sobbing uncontrollably. "Pearl...I hate all of this. I hate Amethyst for doing this to me. I hate myself for letting everything get this far. But Amethyst treated me so well... Was she faking it? Did she actually love me?"

I lean into Pearls chest as I cry, soaking her shirt in the process. "Hey, I know how you feel. I'm still sad about Rose's death. And she died 14 years ago." I laugh at Pearl. "You just said after 14 years you still aren't over Rose. How was the gonna help?" Pearl stiffs up. "Oops...I'm sorry." I graze the side of my hand on Pearl's face. "It's fine. I know you wanted to help." I smile at Pearl but suddenly, Pearl bursts into tears. "I don't want you to be sad. But I can't do anything right." My heart breaks even more when Pearl said that. "No no no Pearl. It's alright, please don't cry." Pearl looks me in the eyes. "Hey I got an idea, how about we help each other get over our ex's?" I suggest. "Oh (Y/n), I'm already over Rose. I'm in love with you now." Pearl leaned over and kissed my forehead. "Theeeeeeeen" I made the 'E' a lot longer cause I was trying to make everything a lot funnier. "How about you help me get over Amethyst, and in the process, I'm gonna fall in love with you." Pearl lit up at my words. I could tell she clearly wasn't expecting you to even consider being in love with her. "I like that plan." Pearl smiled at me and we hugged. She held on to me like if she let go, I would disappear.
