(STEVENS POV)

"Um...H-hi!"

I heard a voice call out to me, I lowered my arms from my face and saw that the dragon was no longer a dragon....but a girl!

I looked wide-eyed at her, she still had her dragon wings, tail, and horns just a human body. There was an awkward silence for a while. I finally was able to regain my words, "Uh....Hi?" I shyly said to her. "Relax little one I won't eat you!" She politely reassured me, "Oh....Um Thanks?" I said, afraid that I would offend her. I slowly made my way towards her, she took a small step backwards and her tail flicked nervously.

"Who are you?" She finally asked, she walked over to a large rock and leapt onto it, and settled on it with her tail curled neatly around her. "Oh...I'm Steven, Steven Universe!" I said to answer her question, She tensed up when I said my name, and she plastered a look of guilt and sadness on her face. "What's wrong? Did I say something wrong???" I desperately asked so I wouldn't be eaten , "No it's just that....I thought I would never in all my life hear that name again" She answered, "Wait what do you mean?" I questioned. She let out a sad sigh and opened her wings half way, She then let out a small chuckle as began to hum a song I know I've heard before.....

I looked at her awe struck and finally realized something that bugged me since I've found her....her name

"Your Jade!!!!!" I shouted, she laughed "The one and only!!!" She replied smugly, "Where are the others?" She asked me. "Oh there out looking around, Garnet detected a disturbance here and we all came looking!" Jade's tail wagged, "Ammolites here!?!?!" She asked happily. I looked at her and slowly shook my head no, her tail stopped wagging and her wings sagged a bit, "I haven even meet Amber, Moonstone, or Ammolite!" I truthfully said. She wrinkled her nose and then chuckled a bit, "Of corse Pearly would never leave her beloved Rose Quartz!" She mockingly said, "Y-Yeah!" I nervously commented.

"Steven!"

I heard the faint sounds of someone calling my name, I stood up and walked over to the entrance of the cave and peered out, I could make out four figures walking towards my direction. I rushed back inside to tell Jade, "Jade the Gems are here!" I happily said, She looked at me with a calm expression and simply said "Do not bring them near me". I was puzzled, For 14 years the gems have kept her memory alive in their hearts, and now she wants to push them away?. "Why!!!" I whined, "They already have enough to things to worry about, plus.....if Yellow Diamond catches wind of me still being alive, I'll most likely be hunted down and no one close to me will be safe!" She admitted as she rubbed her left arm, I sighed and hung my head. She looked at me with sorry eyes and rubbed her horns, her face then lit up with an idea, "But that doesn't mean you can't see me!", I gave her a puzzled look.

"I mean when ever the gems are on a mission, you can sneak off her and hang out with me!" She happily said. "Really?!?" I asked surprised, she nodded her head and wagged her tail, "Of course! It gets lonely here sometimes!" She said sadly. "Alright then! I'll see when I can!" I said as I ran over to her and gave her a hug.

Jade slightly tensed as we made contact, she awkwardly stood there for a moment as I hugged tighter. She finally relaxed and hugged me back and wrapped her wings around me,"Thank you Steven!" She quietly said.

"No problem...." I responded.

"Steven!!!"

I heard the voices again only this time they seemed closer. I looked up at Jade and let go of her, she gave me a wink and pushed me towards the entrance as she transformed into her full dragon form and silently turned around and walked further into the cave.

I walked out of the cave and saw Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, and Peridot turn towards me. Pearl ran toward me and smothered me in hugs and checked every inch of my body for wounds or injuries, I swore I couldn't breath. "Are you alright! Are you hurt!" Pearl franticly said. "Nope I'm fine!" I smiled at her, "Steven what were you doing in that cave?" Peridot piped up. "Yeah! Did you find anything good?" Amethyst questioned further, "Oh I stumbled in there because I thought I heard something!" I lied, "What did it sound like?" Pearl asked me. "Bats!" I blurted out, "Oh...ok" she responded.

"Ok I think that's enough adventuring for today!" Garnet announced as she picked me up and placed me on her head.

As we made my way towards the warp pad I looked back at Jades cave and I saw a Jade green Dagon head pop out and paw at the ground.

Don't worry Jade! I'll come back! I thought to myself

(JADES POV)

As I watched Steven walk away with my old team I felt that I should be there with them, but I couldn't. What I said was true, Yellow Diamond was after me and wanted me dead along with anyone I grew close to, If Yellow Diamond came after me now....would Steven be in danger? I questioned myself.

No....I would protect him just like his mother protected me when I was young like him!

I gazed out one more time and saw a warp pad activate a stream of that followed, "I will wait for you!"
