Your POV

You were currently sat on the floor playing happily with your year and a half old baby son, Oscar. He had a few of his toys scattered all over the floor, his stuffed toys, musical toys (Which of course Tony thought was a good idea for him). 

"Hey Oscar it's almost time for your afternoon nap" You smile over at him. Oscar just smiles and giggles at you. 

"I hope you sleep today for a few hours, give mummy (mommy) some time to clean up your toys before daddy comes home from work" You add

You and Steve (AKA Captain America) had been married for a good few years. You both shared two kids, your eldest daughter, Courtney who is 12 years old and little Oscar. It was a shock to you both when you fell pregnant both times but you were happy. You had tried a few times for another baby after Courtney was a certain age but you weren't successful so it was a shock when you found out you were pregnant for a second time. 

You saw the happy look on Oscar's face as soon as you mentioned his daddy. You knew how much Oscar loved and adored Steve. Oscar held his little baby arms up. You smiled about to pick him up.

"I think he'd prefer his daddy" A male voice said behind you. 

You look behind you and saw Steve standing there with a smile on his face. 

"How long have you been standing there ?" You ask

"Long enough" Steve smiles as he walks over to you both

"Ahhh" Oscar smiles at Steve

"Hey buddy have you been a good boy while daddy has been at work ?" Steve smiles at Oscar as he picks him up and sits him on his knee

Oscar just smiled and made a lot of happy baby noises. You take this as your chance and begin to clear up Oscar's toys. 

"Where's Courtney ?" Steve asked

"She's out with some friends just now" You answer

"She's supposed to be here, helping you" Steve said in an angry tone

"She has been but she does need some time out as well, time with her friends" You say trying to reason with him

"I'll take this little guy up and settle him down for his nap then we can catch up" Steve said as he stood up with Oscar. 

"Oh here" You say standing up and handing Steve Oscar's favourite teddy bear knowing he won't settle without out

"Thanks sweetheart" Steve smiled he placed a soft kiss to your forehead before he walked off upstairs to Oscar's nursery room

You finished cleaning up the messy family room with Oscar's toys and got them all put away in no time at all. 

Steve came back down once he had managed to get Oscar settled. 

"Come here" Steve said patting the seat next to him on the sofa.

You walked over and sat down next to Steve. Once you were comfortable, Steve wrapped his arm around you. 

"I've missed you all so much" Steve said

"We've all missed you too" you told him

You and Steve continued to sit and enjoy each other's company for a while, Steve told you some funny stories about the others while he was gone. You laughed at all his funny stories all the time. 

"I've missed the sound of your laugh" Steve said before he pulled you over onto his lap.

You both smiled before you leaned in and connected your lips with his. You were both so caught up in your make out session that you didn't even hear the front door open or close.

"MUM (MOM) WHAT THE HELL ?!" your teenage daughter screamed.

"Courtney your home" You say trying to catch your breath

"Yeah and just in time too, what about dad ?" She asks angry

"Hey sweetheart" Steve calls out to her

"Wait you thought" You begin to talk to your daughter catching on to what she had previously thought you were doing

"Dad ? When did you get home ?" Courtney asked Steve

"Courtney, I love your dad, how could you think I would ever do anything to hurt him ?" You ask

"I didn't know it was dad, I just saw you on the sofa making out with someone" Courtney replied

"Why are you coming in so late ?" Steve asked your teenage daughter

"I was out with my friends and my phone died" Courtney answered

"Well go get ready for bed, you need to be up at a reasonable time tomorrow" Steve told your daughter

"Why ? What's tomorrow ?" Courtney asked confused.

Oh No.

You knew where Steve was going with this. You also knew there was no way he'd ever let her off or out of it. 

"Well I am home. You know every time I'm home we always do something together as a family" Steve said

"But I've already made plans with my friends" Courtney tried to protest

"I don't care, are you not part of this family any more ?" Steve asked

Courtney had tried to call over to you for back up but Steve warned her not to involve you. Of course all the arguing and raised voices had woken Oscar up from his sleep. You left Steve and Courtney to sort it out while you went upstairs to check on your young son. Luckily you had managed to settle him again with his bottle.

Once you managed to settle Oscar back down, you headed back downstairs. As you got to the bottom of the stairs you heard Steve warn Cortney in a stern tone.

"I'm serious Courtney, if you don't come and spend time with us tomorrow, your grounded for the rest of your Summer vacation, that means no phone, laptop, tv anything" Steve warned

Courtney didn't dare answer her dad back and instead just ran out the room and upstairs to her room. You could tell how upset she was but you also knew how much Steve loved to spend time with you when he could. 

"That could have gone better" Steve said once he seen you

"I'll talk to her once she's calmed down" You say walking over to him

"Was Oscar okay ? I'm sorry for shouting and raising my voice and waking him" Steve said

"He's fine, he's settled back down again" You smile

You and Steve decided to head up and settle down in bed. You decided now would be a good time to go and talk with Courtney. You also knew for a fact that she hadn't snuck out, Steve had a special type of alarm installed which monitored every and any kind of movement. You gently knocked on Courtney's door.

"Go away dad" Courtney snapped

You quietly opened her door and walked in. 

"Sorry to disappoint" you smile

Courtney just glared at you before turning away and looking at her wall. 

"Courtney, you know you dad loves you. You also know how much family time means to him" You begin 

"Yeah but that was when I was little, I'm too old for all that now" Courtney tries to protest

"Courtney your dad has already lost quite a lot in life, do you really want him to lose you too ?" You as your daughter in a more serious tone

"Of course I don't" Courtney answers

"You can spend any day and as much time with your friends any other day, please just give your dad this one day tomorrow. It's gonna be him you call when you break down somewhere, when you feel scared, when a boy breaks your heart" You say hoping what you are saying gets threw to your daughter.

"Suppose" Is all that Courtney says

"You know I'm right. It's your decision, I guess we will just see what you decide in the morning" is all you say before you get up and exit her room and walk towards yours and Steve's room

"She calmed down ?" Steve asks

"I don't know but I've given her some things to think about" You answer

You had woken up  early the next morning but decided to let Steve sleep a little longer. You knew how hard he worked and how much he needed a little longer sleep sometimes. You got up quietly and made your way downstairs. You were shocked to see Courtney in the kitchen making up various things. 

"What's all this ?" You asked

"I didn't know where we were going or doing today but I started making things up for a picnic" Courtney asked shrugging her shoulders

"Thank you" You smiled at her

You, Steve and Courtney had all decided it would be a great idea to go to the beach since it was a lovely hot Summers day. You all got ready and grabbed everything you all decided you would need including the picnic Courtney had made, surprisingly she had even thought of Oscar while she prepared it all. 

"Just so you know dad, your on the ice creams and drinks today" Courtney said to Steve 

"By drinks I hope you mean juice" Steve answered in a stern voice

"Of course she does" You answer quickly

The four of you had a great time at the beach. You had all built sandcastles with Oscar, Courtney and Steve had gone into the water while you sat with Oscar. You weren't sure what it was but something about taking your young son into the ocean / sea scared you. You sat and watched and Steve and Courtney had fun splashing each other in the water. You had to admit it was great seeing Steve and Courtney reconnect with each other and having fun. 

Oscar was pretty tired and worn out so he fell asleep easily after he had something to eat for his dinner. 

"I had so much fun today" Steve smiled

"Me too, it was great to see you and Courtney reconnect" You smiled at your husband

You knew Steve had fun today but you were also 100% certain that Courtney had fun too even if she didn't want to admit it.
