GRACE: The Infinite, Matchless Grace.

Grace, this word properly means favour. It is very often used in the New Testament, and is employed in the sense of kindness as the highest expression of favour of God.

'By his grace, By his favour, by his mere underwear mercy, we were saved'.

Ephesians 2:8 says 'For by grace you have been davrd through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God'. Grace is the gift of God to us. It is wholly of grace, not of debt, that men are saved.

Romans 3:24 say 'Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is Christ Jesus'. This means that this righteousness which we gain is altogether freely given, for its foundation is upon those things which we have not done ourselves, but rather those things which Christ has suffered for our sakes, to deliver us from sin.

When the Lord justifies a believing sinner, he does it freely. It is an act of mere grace, there is nothing in the man that can meet or deserve it. We are not saved by our works of righteousness but by grace, God's marvelous grace. God's marvelous, infinite, matchless grace that is freely bestowed on all who believes. A grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt. A grace that is greater than all our sin.
