Chapter 12
"D209 thinks Serena has better body proportion and facial symmetry, but I still think you're prettier. You're the prettiest."
"Who's D209?" Kaylee asked with a frown, poking her boobs with the clean end of her chopsticks, they definitely weren't as big as Serena's but she thinks she has a nicer butt.
"Ugh! D209 is an arrogant jerk. I know you gave away all my clothes to that hobo. Don't you dare deny it D209! I saw my Superman t-shirt!" Asher pointed to his own eyes with two fingers and then burped loudly.
Kaylee laughed at how silly Asher was being. It wasn't like they've never had drinks before but for some reason, Asher was a lot funnier and relaxed today. She's never heard him talk so much either.
"Well, whoever this D209 is, he did you a favor. All the nurses and interns at work are fawning over you now."
"Whatever. They just like my new look. They don't like me for me. But I do look good now, don't I?" Asher wiggled his brows with a sly smile but then almost immediately started giggling.
"You do, but I've always liked you just the way you are. You're the sweetest guy I know, even with the glasses and orange shoes you're adorable."
"I've always liked you too," Asher said, trying to focus on Kaylee's face which was extremely blurry for some reason.
Biting the ends of her chopsticks, Kaylee pondered if she should ask the question that has been weighing on her mind lately, a question that was a little scary and uncertain. But before she could contemplate any further, Asher suddenly slammed his chopsticks on the table, making others nearby look over to their table at the ruckus.
"See? D209, Kaylee thinks my orange shoes are adorable. Do you hear me?" Asher pouted.
Kaylee smiled and sighed. Maybe another time. Definitely only when he's sober.
"Okay okay, time to go. I'm driving." Kaylee declared to the pouting and giggling mess across from her.
~~~~~~
Ugh...what is wrong with this human's head? D209 groaned and pressed his palm against his throbbing head. What the heck happened to him? Did he get hit by a truck?
D209 cracked open his eyes and immediately shut them again. The light was too damn bright. But wait! Where was he? Asher's room was never this bright. Hold on, wasn't he eating amazing Korean BBQ? He quickly opened his eyes despite the light and the headache.
The light came through the big floor-to-ceiling window in front of him. Sitting up, the blanket over him slid down to his waist revealing his naked chest. Where was he? He looked around and realized he was laying on a gray couch, Kaylee's couch to be specific. It was the apartment where he first possessed Asher. Hold up there! Why was he topless? He quickly lifted the blanket and...what the fuck! Where did these pink strawberry print shorts come from? The tiny thing could barely contain him. He looked towards Kaylee's bedroom and the door was shut. She must be inside.
Racking his brain, D209 tried to think about what happened last night and how he got here but nothing came to his mind. He really couldn't remember anything after the restaurant. All he could remember was eating kalbi. But wait! He also had alcohol from a tiny glass.
Did he pass out at the restaurant? With his eyes bulging wide and brows furrowed, he realized something really dangerous happened. He must have blacked out. But how was that possible? He's had alcohol during his other possessions and this has never happened to him before. He's had some of the strongest hard liquor before and it had only caused the human body to get sluggish for a bit but it never affected his consciousness.
Asher! Where's the kid? Where's Asher? D209 stood up and stumbled back a step just to sit right back down on the couch.
"Asher!" D209 half-whisper, half-hollered, "Asher!" But it was of no use. Where did the kid go? Did his soul go to sleep?
"Asher..." Kaylee opened her bedroom door with a yawn, stretching her arms over her head. "Good morning. It's good that you're up. You have to bring the car back to Mike before his shift ends."
D209 quickly grabbed the blanket to cover Asher's very awake manhood that was stretching the thin fabric of the tiny pink shorts. "Good morning, Kaylee. Uh, what happened to my clothes? And are these shorts yours?" D209 could feel the said tiny shorts creeping up the crack of his ass.
Kaylee chuckled, "Seriously? You don't remember? I gave you a pair of my bigger running shorts to change into after your shower but you had put on my pajama shorts from the bathroom instead and passed out right after. Look!" Kaylee pointed to her pink strawberry pajama top that's now mismatched with a pair of blue shorts.
"Oh, I'm so sorry." D209 had never been so embarrassed. What the hell was he doing? He couldn't remember showering or putting on these shorts. "Uh, where are my clothes then?"
"Your clothes are in the dryer." Kaylee walked over to a folding door and pulled it open to reveal a washer and dryer inside. "Aside from Covid, the smell of Korean BBQ is too strong to let it sit around. Here." Kaylee picked out Asher's clothes from the load and handed them to him.
"Thanks," D209 accepted the clothes. He still had so many questions about last night but he didn't know how to ask without sounding strange or stupid to the other.
"How's your head? You drank quite a bit last night. Take some pain reliever if you need to." Kaylee pointed to the pill bottle on the table next to a cup of water. "I'm going to get ready for work."
"Kaylee!" D209 called out seeing the other turn to leave the room.
"Yeah? What's wrong?"
"Uhm, why am I here?"
"What? You don't remember any of it?"
Hugging his clothes against his chest, D209 shamefully shook his head. He really had no clue what happened last night.
"You were flinging your keys around while singing at the top of your lungs, and somehow your keys flew out the window in the middle of the expressway. There was no way we could have stopped and gone back for them, so yeah, your keys are gone. I did call Mike, but his shift wasn't over yet, so I brought you home."
"Seriously? Oh my God. I'm so sorry for all the trouble. Did I do anything else stupid?" D209 asked, praying that was the worst of it already. Seriously, did he do all that?
Kaylee bit her bottom lip and stared at Asher for a moment. It seemed like he really didn't remember. "Mmm...if you don't remember, then...it's not important. Just get ready."
"Hey, man. How did last night go? I heard you lost your keys." Mike asked as Asher stepped inside the locker room. He was more than ready to leave after his long night shift.
"Uh, yeah. Something like that. Your car is parked in the second row. Here's your key." D209 handed Mike's car key back. He was glad Kaylee didn't tell Mike how ridiculous he was last night. He was still having a hard time remembering any of it.
"Cool. I'll get going then. I'm so tired. I'll leave the spare key under the mat for you."
"Thanks."
D209, you lost my keys?
Asher! D209 immediately rushed into the changing room once Mike was gone.
"Where have you been? Why haven't you answered me this whole time?"
Huh? What are you talking about? I just woke up like I usually do. Now, what happened to my keys?
"Forget the keys. Tell me what happened to you."
I don't know. All I can tell you is I had an awesome dream. In my dream, Kaylee and I were singing and laughing a lot. Also, she said my glasses and orange shoes are adorable. So you better not touch my orange shoes. You don't know what they mean to me.
D209 didn't bother to correct Asher that he did know what those hideous things meant to him. After all, he had access to every corner of his memories, no matter how deeply buried or how long ago they were. So he knew the first pair was given to him when he was twelve by his brother who died of heart failure at sixteen. It was one of the reasons why Asher wanted to become a doctor. And that's also why he would never throw those shoes out. Asher wore them for every exam and every memorable moment of his life up to this point. He even wore them to prom and pissed his date off all night. It was his strange way of having his brother with him.
So D209 knew everything there was to Asher. Everything except for last night. Last night's memories were hazy and blurry and right now he was pretty sure that Asher's soul had taken over last night. The question is what happened to him? Where did he go? Will it happen again? And can he leave if it does?
"Forget about those shoes. I won't touch them as long as I don't have to wear them. Now, listen. What if I tell you that last night wasn't a dream? Do you remember flinging your keys out the window? Because I don't remember doing so?"
Oh my God! I think I did! And Kaylee was driving. So wait! All those embarrassing things really happened? Does this mean I really slipped in her shower while dancing? But how? Aren't I possessed? Why didn't you stop me? Oh, God...no no no.
"I don't know how it happened either. I just woke up in Kaylee's apartment in her tiny pink shorts. It was so embarrassing. And I don't know what else happened because she wouldn't say. The last thing I remember from last night was drinking alcohol from that little glass. All your memories from last night are hazy right now. This has never happened before. It's very strange. Well, everything about this possession is very strange."
So does that mean I can have my body back? Can you come out now?
"I don't know. Let me try."
Okay. I'm ready.
D209 closed his eyes and leaned against the wall of the changing room just in case should he be able to extract himself, Asher wouldn't just fall over. Putting his hands together, he concentrated on the amulet and chanted to himself before taking a big step forward. And then with bated breath, he slowly opened his eyes.
Did it work?
D209's shoulders slumped with a huff. He was now standing in the middle of the changing room, still firmly stuck inside the same human body.
"No. You're still in my head and I'm still in your body. Dammit!"
Maybe we need some alcohol.
"Bye, Mike," D209 waved as the door closed behind Mike who was leaving for his night shift for the third day in a row.
"Are you ready?" D209 asked as he pulled out a bottle of Jack Daniel whiskey and a 2-liter bottle of Coke from his bag and settled down on the couch with a glass of ice.
Are you kidding? I've been waiting all day. My shift has never felt longer. C'mon, let's get started.
"Alright. Calm down and relax," D209 said, feeling a bit nervous and excited.
Loosening a few buttons on his shirt and rolling up his sleeves, D209 poured himself his first glass of Jack and Coke.
Hurry up!
Well, here goes nothing. D209 took big gulps until he emptied the glass and only a few cubes of ice were staring back at him.
"Ugh...yuck! That's disgusting. The cola didn't help much. Why did you pick this? Do you feel anything? Are you still there?"
Yeah, I'm still here. I don't feel anything. Maybe you need to drink more. Do it again!
"Fine. But this is gross, I tell you." D209 poured himself another glass, heavier on the Jack this time just to get it over with quicker.
Two glasses. Three glasses. Four glasses...
"When I see your face...There's not a thing that I would change...'Cause you're amazing...Just the way you are...And when you smile...The whole world stops and stares for a while..."
"Hello, Asher? Did you drink again?"
