Sam and Alex walk along the sidewalk as they head home from school.

"Thank you for standing up for me." Sam smiles softly at Alex.

"We're friends, I will always stand up for you." Alex leans over to Sam and hugs her.

A weak sound of chirping catches the girls' attention and draws them to a small blue bird that lay at the base of a tree.

"Oh no." Sam rushes to the bird, worried that it might be hurt. "Do you think it will be okay?" She looks over to Alex as the girl slowly walks over to her.
