Chapter 17
"I haven't you in years, Fiore. And you too, Ignazio. You two have grown so much."
Yukine served some tea for her son-in-law and sat down next to them. "But why now?" He smiled sadly, "Mother, you know why. It's dangerous for them to stay seperated." Yukine nodded. "Although Fiore had just gotten used to living here too." Said Ignazio. Fiore looked at them confused, "Um, why is it dangerous?" Their faces became grim and the situation was enough to make Fiore realise how dangerous it is. "Papa, tell me." Her expression hardened. He simply said that it was not the time. She looked down and clenched her fists on her lap. "I'm tired, good night." She stated and went to her room without hearing their reply. "Fiore!" Ignazio called out but he heard a loud slam of a door. The older man sighed and smiled to the old woman. "Then I'll be going, thank you for your time, mother." Yukine nodded and smiled though he could tell that she was worried. Ignazio watched as his father left without uttering another word. "I still feel bad for keeping this from her." He muttered. "Me too, Ignazio. Me too." Uttered the old woman. She looked back at the small table, "The tea's gone cold.." Ignazio pat the old woman's back before going to check on his sister.
"So how is it?" The curly brunette asked, "You're not planning on declining, right?" The pale girl glared at him. "Of course I did. You'd think I'm a fool to leave now when I can start anew." He choked on air when he heard her answer. The ginger looked at her with obvious confusion in his face. The brunette came up to her. "Are you sure this is what you want?" He held her hand, making the other two stare. Fiore smiled, "I don't want to leave when I'm finally back at where my mother's--" her head suddenly throbbed. Their voices was tuned out along with every noise else. It's getting worse.
"Fiore!" The headache finally stopped. "Are you okay?" Ignazio asked, he came in just in time to see her holding her head. She stopped to look at him with tired eyes. "I'm going to sleep.." she stood up and quickly ran to her room. She slowly sat down on her bed and heaved out a long and deep sigh. Her window slowly opened. She stared at the window because it was surprisingly quiet. She went to shut it but a movement caught her eye. She went on like nothing happened, but took a pen. She closed the window and felt another's presence in the room. She took the cap off her pen and set it down on her desk. She was about to turn around when the silhouette of the person knocked her down. Her back was facing the unknown person as her cheek was roughly kissing the floor. Her one arm was pinned onto her back while the other was held in front of her.
"Fiore di Stelle. Soon to be Decimo of the Famiglia. Nicknamed; Fantasma." Fiore struggled to get up but stopped when she heard the voice. A man..? No, his voice is muffled by something. A boy, then. "Who are you?" She asked, distressed from the current situation. She tensed but felt him coming closer so she abruptly sat up, pushing him away. Didn't he know not to let his guard down?
Before she knew it, he had already gotten back on his feet. She held the pen close and eyed him. He was about to take a step closer when the door opened. Fiore looked back and saw Marco standing at the door frame with a confused face. "Why are you on the floor?" She scrambled to her feet and looked back but saw no one. Although the window was opened again. Sneaky little bastard..
"So-" Marco interrupted her again. "Why were you on the floor?" She giggled sheepishly and said, "I was rolling around on the bed and fell down." Marco sighed. "Go to sleep. You still have school tomorrow."
"What about you?"
"Reborn just told me and Alfred to watch you."
"No fair."
"Life isn't fair."
"Ah, man. Don't do this agai-"
"Now go to sleep, brat."
"You're one year older."
"Not another word."
Fiore groaned when the door closed and looked back to the window. Just who was that guy?
---
Ever since then, Fiore felt like she was being watched. At school, home, everywhere. She could tell that the person was the boy from that night.
This is honestly getting on my nerves. She thought as she walked to school. "Then maybe you should've apprehended him better when it happened." G said. Today, it was G's turn to train/tutor her. They decided to let one person train her for a day and it'll go like this until they have a better idea on training her. Up till now, it's only been Asari, Knuckles and G. Well, it wasn't my fault I was in a foul mood that time. They also found out they could communicate from inside her head. It helps not being deemed a freak like on the first day with Asari. Tsuna saw her talking to Asari, not that he could see him, so happily and gratefully that he got creeped out. Everyone else thought that she was out of her mind while some thought that she was joking around like usual.
Honestly though, you guys can't find him?
"For some reason, no."
Well, that sucks.
"We don't suck. He has a different kind of flame from our usual ones."
So you guys can't apprehend him.
"I didn't say that."
Well, whatever. I'm at school already, see you later, old man. This irked the Storm which he later let out on innocent Asari.
School was the same as usual for Fiore but she did feel better after training to let out her flames. It was as if her flames were the reason for her being stressed out and the headaches. "Yo." Takeshi approached her and grinned. "Are you up for some baseball after this?" Fiore smiled apologetically. "Sorry, I have something today too." His grin didn't falter but she knew he was disappointed. "How about we play this weekend?" She said suddenly, making his face lit. "Sure!" He went to tell the others about it after that.
"You seem to be forgetting that Daemon is training you in three days." G said as he was watching the scene play in front of him. Training is at night. "You need proper rest." She sighed. "I won't be able to rest if I feel bad." That made him stop and look at his decendant. Hayato is a lot like a friend rather than a underling now, it made Tsuna more happy. Fiore has heard stories from Daemon, or rather, he used his illusions to show her what they've been through. She knew most of the stories thanks to Daemon. He also told her about his wrong doings in which she said, everything is fine now but I'm not one to judge. He seemed grateful. G sighed when he saw that there was nothing for him to do. There was a knock at the door in which came the brunette and the ginger. Everyone was surprised, including Fiore. Reborn came in too, as Reboyama, of course. "These two. Will be your English and Italian teachers while Dino is gone." Reborn said without calling Dino a dame. This concerned the tenth generation. The two standing next to him seemed nervous. "Also, we'll be having a pop quiz after this." He smiled devilishly. Then he left. Fiore eyed his back which seemed to be tense but casted her attention to her two friends.
"I'm Alfred, I'll be teaching you Italian. This is Marco. He's teaching English. But don't worry. We excel in both languages so you may ask us questions about anything." Right after he said that, the girls had their hands above their heads. The boys groaned, especially Hayato. They started the real lesson nice and easy and everyone could answer. Fiore slept throughout the lesson because she felt tired and somehow had a feeling that she'd be up late.
"Fiore, how's training?" A blonde man asked as he smiled. A young Fiore sat next to him. "Great! Training's been great, thanks to you, Nelo!" They laughed and shared their story about the day until the blonde man had to leave. "You can deactive your flames now. It tires you, doesn't it?" She nodded and the blonde man left. Ignazio came and carried her to her room. He smiled, "You're a hardworking girl, sis. I'll work hard too." She smiled and took out her pinkie. "Promise?" He looked surprised but nonetheless wrapped his around hers, "Promise."
"Mama! Dinner is ready. Papa! Zio?" Fiore looked around but couldn't see anyone. She walked and walked but it was so quiet. Then she felt a presence, she snapped her head back in time to block an attack. She groaned, "Well, aren't you a cute thing. So she's Fantasma?" Another silhouette nodded. Both of them reached out to grab her but she ran away until she found a boy with silver hair. They both looked at each other. "Vi-"
Fiore woke up just when Reborn came in to announce the pop quiz result. She had slept through it. So she got last. She stayed back to clean the class when G came. "Another memory?" She nodded. He didn't ask anything else but she said, "There was a silver haired boy. Beautiful silver locks. His pure blue eyes stared at me like how a brother would. For some reason, I feel sad. When I try remembering about him, it just never comes. But I know him. I've met him. So why can't I remember?" She gripped the hem of her skirt in frustration.
A boy stayed outside the door. He was about to go in when he saw G but was even more surprised by what Fiore said. "You'll remember me soon, luna." He walked away with a smile. He made his way out of the school compounds. The breeze blew his hood back which revealed silver hair that shun with icy blue eyes that looked into the sunset with such pain and discomfort.
"Remember me soon, luna."
