Chapter 44
"Don't you think you need to ask Tim first? I mean, I don't want any trouble." Chris says.
"Listen, if Tim knows that you're being sincere and honest, you won't have any trouble out of him whatsoever. But if Austin walks in here with an attitude, throwing comments about the prisoners here, yeah, Tim will strike back." Adam says. "If y'all show Tim some respect, you'll get it in return. Come on, let's go talk to him. You'll see that he's not that bad of a guy."
"Alright, I guess." Chris says as he nervously glances over a Tim. Tim was laughing at something Emily was telling him. "He looks pretty harmless."
"Trust me, he's a pussycat." Adam smiles as he stands from the table. "Come on."
Tim, Dena and Emily look up as the Rupp brothers near the table.
"Hey, Baby?" Adam smiles as he sits down next to his fiance, taking him by the hand. "I've invited Chris to our wedding."
"Really?" Tim asks as he looks around at Adam. He could clearly see the happiness and the excitement in his eyes. "That's cool."
"Really? You don't mind?" Chris asks as he stands by the table. He was actually quite shocked that Tim was okay with him coming.
"Why should I mind? You're his brother and it's quite obvious that he wants you there." Tim says with an honest smile.
"There's one more thing, uh, he and Austin are back together and he wants to bring him." Adam says as he bites at his bottom lip.
'Uh, oh.' Chris thought to himself as Tim shifts his eyes from Adam to him. 'That hit a nerve.'
"Oh." Tim says as he brushes back his hair. He honestly didn't know what to say. He didn't care much for Austin at all. But if he said 'No', then Chris might not come and Adam would not only be heartbroken but also pissed at him. He felt Adam rub him on the leg under the table. He looks around at his blond lover to see a pleading look in his eyes. "Of course, he can come. We're all adults, right?"
"Are ... Are you sure?" Chris asks.
"Listen...Honestly?" Tim says as he lights a cigarette. "I don't have a problem with Austin as long as he keeps his mouth shut. But he doesn't need to come in here with a chip on his shoulder that he's been known to do."
"He's changed a lot, Tim." Chris says with a slight nod. He knew that Tim was speaking the truth. Austin, in the past, would seem to just try and pick a fight with Tim and Adam. "He actually wanted to come with me today so he could personally apologize to you and Adam. But I thought that it would be best if I came alone to break the news."
"Well, if he plays nice, well then, I'll play nice." Tim says with a smile. "I'm not impossible to get along with."
Chris breathes a sigh of relief as well as Adam. Tim reaches under the table taking Adam's hand and gently squeezing it. Letting him know that everything was okay.
"Then it's settled, I'll give the warden your's and Austin's names." Adam smiles. "And I'll call you when we decide on a date."
"That'll work." Chris smiles. "Well, I guess I need to go. I didn't mean to interrupt your visitation."
"You're leaving?" Adam asks with a look of disappointment on his face.
"Non-sense. You're not interrupting anything." Dena says.
"Of course not, have a seat and join us." Tim says with a smile.
"Are you sure?" Chris asks with a smile.
"Of course, I sure." Tim nods. "I'll soon be your brother-in-law, Chris. I want you to see that I'm not the monster that you think I am."
"Told you he was a pussycat." Adam smiles as he lays his head over on Tim's shoulder.
"Well, I wouldn't go that far." Tim laughs. "But yeah, I do like normal things. It's not like I sit around and think about murder all the time. I like to read. I love to draw."
"I always wished I could draw." Chris says.
"Your people always looked like stick figures." Adam chuckles.
"Yeah, I know. I just couldn't get the hang of it." Chris laughs.
"Tim has always been a gifted artist. Even as a little boy." Dena says with a smile.
"It's just kinda weird. It's like my mind takes a picture and then when I look at the paper, I see the image. And I just draw it." Tim shrugs.
"You ought to see his drawings, Chris. They would blow your mind." Adam smiles proudly.
"Well, he doesn't need to see all of them." Tim chuckles as he winks at his lover.
"Oh, yeah, there's some that you definitely don't need to see." Adam says as his cheeks turn a nice shade of red.
Emily had been scrolling on her phone this entire time. Her mind was on their wedding.
"Guys? What do you think about these shirts for your wedding?" She asks as she turns her phone toward them.
"Those are nice shirts, Sis. But I'm not wearing no purple shirt." Tim says, shaking his head.
"No, I was thinking since Adam has blond hair that he would look good in the darker color and you would look good in the white with your darker hair." Emily says.
"But ain't wearing white at weddings supposed to be for virgins?" Tim asks with a smirk on his face.
"And you're definitely not a virgin, Baby Doll." Adam giggles as he bites his bottom lip.
"LA LA LA!!" Dena begins to sing loudly as she covers her ears causing the ones at the table to laugh hysterically.
"Sorry. Dena." Adam apologizes as he covers his once again blushing face.
"But seriously, Sis. Those are beautiful shirts and I think Adam would look gorgeous in purple." Tim says with a smile.
"And Tim would look very handsome in white." Adam nods.
"So they meet your approval?" Emily asks.
"Yep." Tim answers and Adam nods.
"Great! Now, all we need is a date." Emily says. "Oh, and I need your sizes for shirts, pants and shoes. Cause you can't wear those sandal looking things for your wedding."
After giving Emily their sizes, the discussion turns to deciding on a date.
"As for a wedding date?" Tim says as he looks around at his fiance. "What about two weeks from today?"
"Two weeks? Really?" Adam says as a shocked look comes across his face.
"Is that too soon?" Tim asks when he noticed Adam's shocked expression.
"No!! Not at all!!" Adam says as a huge smile appears.
"Oh, okay. You scared me for a minute." Tim chuckles.
"What about rings?" Chris asks.
"It's too dangerous to wear rings in here." Tim says, shaking his head. "I know of a guy a few years ago that laid down to take a nap and someone cut his finger off just to steal the ring."
"D*mn! Oh, sorry, Ms. Foust." Chris says shaking his head.
"We're going to have each other's name tattooed on our finger." Adam says.
Tim glances around and notices that most of the visitors had left.
"Is visitation over with?" He asks. Emily checks the time on her phone.
"There're ten minutes left. I guess we need to be going." Emily says as she and Dena stand to give hugs.
"Yeah, I need to go too, I guess." Chris says as he hugs his little brother.
"Listen, next time bring Austin." Tim says as he shakes Chris's hand. "I promise to be on my best behavior." He adds with a smile.
"I will. He just gets a little nervous, you know." Chris shrugs.
"Chris, not everybody is a Charles Manson. Some thought killing was their only way out. Others were pushed over their limit of sanity. But once you get to know us, we're just like you. Some are married with kids but we all miss our families. But we did it to ourselves and now we're paying for it. That one moment of weakness put us in here until they lay us six foot under. It's sad but it's true." Tim says. He notices Dena wiping her tears and his sister's eyes were full of tears. "And you know what the hardest part is? I'll never see another Walmart." He smiles.
"Well, you ain't missing much." Chris chuckles as he sniffs and wipes his nose.
"What about your honeymoon?" Emily asks with a sad face. "It's so sad to think you'll be spending it in that cell.
"Well, it's not like they are going to give us a paid honeymoon to Hawaii, Sis." Tim smiles.
"Chance said he had a surprise for us so who knows what he's got up his sleeve." Adam says with a shrug.
~~
"Two weeks!! I can't believe it." Adam smiles as they walk hand in hand back to their cell. "Adam Foust. That has a nice ring to it."
"I wonder if our uniforms will have 1FOUST207B and 2FOUST207B on them." Tim chuckles.
"That would be cool." Adam smiles.
"So how was visitation? Y'all getting back awfully late." Avi asks as he stands in the doorway of his cell. His family had left two hours earlier. His father had a flight he had to catch to Israel.
"It was awesome!! Chris came and we got a date for the wedding!!" Adam says with excitement. "We're getting married in two weeks!!"
"That's great!! Now, whose best man am I going to be?" Avi asks with a smirk on his face.
Tim and Adam share a glance. That's one thing that they had not planned.
"Uh, I don't know. We really hadn't thought of that, I don't guess." Tim says as he runs a hand through his hair.
"Well, Avi could be my best man and Chance could be yours." Adam suggests.
"That'll work." Avi says through a yawn, nods and goes back inside his cell.
"Today has been a great day." Adam says as they get ready for bed. He couldn't seem to stop smiling.
"Is that beautiful smile on your face due to the fact that Chris came to see you today?" Tim asks as they climb into bed.
"Yeah, well, that and the thought of you being my husband in just two weeks." Adam says as he kisses his future husband softly.
"The very first day I laid eyes on you, I thought to myself, 'I'm going to marry that man one day'." Tim says with a smile as he wraps his arm around Adam.
"You did not." Adam giggles as he props up on his elbow and looks down at his lover. He softly runs his finger along Tim's jaw.
"Okay, maybe I wasn't. But I was wondering how I was going to get you into bed." Tim chuckles, running his fingers up and down Adam's back.
"That. I believe." Adam laughs.
