Chapter 23

"God." Tim moans as he slowly laid down on his small cot, feeling the fabric of his shirt brush against the swollen scratches on his back. Adam smiled apologetically and kissed his lover's forehead. "I'm so sorry, honey." He says.

Just then, Hunter and Samuel walks by their cell. "Uh? Mr. Foust?" Hunter smiles. "Yeah, come on in." Tim answers lazily. Hunter and Samuel walk in, the younger man holding a tube of some sort. "I brought you some cream for your back." Hunter smiles. "Must've been a wild night." Samuel comments with a goofy smirk.

"Screw you, Jackson!" Tim growls as he sat up. Adam only shook his head and giggled. "Thanks, kid. Where did you get this from?" Adam asks, taking the tube. "From Dr. Olusola." "If you don't mind, Hunter, why are you in here for?" Adam questioned curiously.

Samuel burst out laughing. "Please let me tell this story." Samuel says. Hunter chuckles and gives him a thumbs up. "You wouldn't believe this." Samuel begins. "He was convicted of felony identity theft, and fraud. Got caught, escaped minimum security FIVE different times, went on to live as a senior high school student and slept with a bunch of 18 year olds." Samuel can barely say the words clearly from laughing so hard. "But then he knocked one up and got busted, yet again. The girl's father confronted him and our little Hunter here killed him in panic." Hunter only shook his head as everyone laughed, including two bass voices they hadn't noticed earlier.

"Can we join in?" Chance inquires from the doorway, his arm around Avi's waist. Tim nodded and motioned for them to come in.

"Oh. I got us some snacks." Tim jumps up as he remembered that brown baggie that contains a tub of brownies his mom made. He took the tin container from the bag and raised it up, shaking it like a prize. Everyone inside the room moved closer to him to conceal the object. Tim sat back down and opened the lid.

"Whoa. Pot brownies?" Hunter asks, licking his lips.

"Naw, just brownies. My momma made them." Tim proudly states. "Wait. Did you say your momma?" Samuel asks in confusion.

"Yep. She gave me drawing supplies too. She visited me the other day. An angel had more balls than me to ask her to." Tim smiles to Adam then kissed him passionately for a few seconds.

"Damn, that's cheesy." Avi chuckles, although he, himself leaned into Chance's arms unconsciously.

They ate or devoured the brownies. Tim grinned from ear to ear every time someone would compliment his mother's brownies. "This is so much better than the biscuits every day." Avi comments. "Anything homemade is so much better than anything." Samuel says. "So, what's your story?" Adam asked Samuel as he played with Tim's fingers.

"Simple. He ain't got the balls to be my granddaughter's daddy. Had to run over that motherf*cker." He says.

Adam smiled and looked around him. It's about time for people to change their views about prisoners. The people around him, they all have a reason for their actions. They don't just kill, they had seen something that drove them to do so. Well, maybe except for him. He just wanted to see burning things, and the fact made him disgusted with himself. Tim noticed the change of his expression.

"Babe, are you okay?" Tim worriedly asked his lover. "Yeah, just thinking of what happened in the shower." Adam says quickly. Tim, Hunter, Avi and Chance laughed simultaneously. "What's so funny?" Adam scowled as he blushed.

"Don't worry about that, sweetie. They're more than eager to watch something like that from time to time." Tim smiles. "Why?" Adam asks, although he's got a slight why. "Because it's a great visual to jack off to from time to time." Avi shrugs. "Do you jack off to that?" Hunter asked with an amused face. "Yep, but that was before he came along." Avi winks then kisses Chance. Hunter's eyes widened.

"Whoa, , whoa. Is THAT even legal?" Hunter says. "If it doesn't give him special treatment, it sort of is." Chance laughs. Their laughter was interrupted by Chance's phone ringing. "Excuse me." he says then picks up the phone.

"Hello?"

"Chance, good morning."

"Uncle Ian?"

"Yes, son. Listen. I need to talk to Adam Rupp immediately. Can you accompany him to the Conference Room?"

"Yes, Sir. Immediately." Chance dropped the call, walking back into Adam and Tim's cell. --

Adam shifted uncomfortably as they walked to the Conference Room. Now he knows why Tim hated those damn shackles.

"Did...he tell you why?" Adam asks Chance quietly. "Honestly, he didn't. But it's probably nothing bad." Chance patted his friend's back in hopes of comforting him. "I hope so. I'm a nervous wreck right now. What if it's about that Bitch Grassi or the Warden?" Adam rambles on. Chance only smiled at him.

Once they got to their destination, Chance excused himself to give Adam and the Governor some privacy. Adam managed to smile at the kind governor despite his nerves.

"Good morning, Mr. Rupp. Please have a seat." Adam quietly obeyed. "First of all, how are things inside Cell Block B?" McKellen asks to lighten the mood.

"Everything's the same, except Tim almost got beaten by two guards this morning, for saving a new inmate from getting raped." Adam answers, obviously agitated.

McKellen raised his eyebrows. "Really? When did this happen?"

"Just this morning, Sir. Don't worry, Officer Chance had already taken care of it. He moved Guard Danny Trejo and Guard Daniel Day Lewis to Cell Block A, despite Warden Clooney's protests."

The Governor smiled. "I'm glad that Chance is really doing his job very well. Now, how about you and that cellmate of yours, huh? Timothy Foust?" He smirks to a giggling and blushing Adam.

"We're okay, I guess. We broke the top bunk of our bed, but we were told that it couldn't be replaced, so now we squeeze our bodies into a teeny tiny bed." He laughs.

"You know, if you had filed a formal request, you could get your bunk back. But the question is, are you complaining?" Governor McKellen asks.

" I didn't say I was." Adam shrugs with a blush.

"However, Mr. Rupp, there is something else that I wanted to talk to you about." He starts, now with a much serious expression. Adam swallowed and nodded. "Sir?" He quietly says.

"Just last week, three Professors and the Dean of your college has filed a petition to reopen your case, with some of your classmates." Adam nods. The governor continued. "They looked into Mr. Smith's profile, and it turns out that he had been previously arrested for multiple counts of aggravated assault, battery and drug-related cases. The court has officially granted the motion." Adam merely nodded, his heart beating faster than a bullet. "The bodies were exhumed for an autopsy. Next week, the results will be in."

"But...why do they need to do that?" Adam finally had the courage to speak.

"So that the real cause of death can be investigated, to see if it was really your fault." McKellen is shocked with Adam's reaction. He doesn't seem too pleased about any of the information he was told.

"What if it wasn't my fault?" Adam inquires, the answer heavy at the back of his mind.

"The murder charges will be dropped. You will face less time in prison. You may even be moved into a non-max security prison. The Parole Committee might even grant you a parole after a few years of good behavior." "Okay." Adam whispers weakly. "Son, you don't seem too happy about this. Are you okay?" The Governor patted Adam's shoulder gently.

"It's... Tim." Adam says shyly. Somehow, it made the kindly old man smile. He's heard a lot of rumors about Tim and Adam, especially Adam's husband. Maybe the blond realized that there's nothing and no one waiting for him on the outside.

"Son, inside the prison, you see things. Things you aren't meant to see, things you don't want to see. You hear different stories from different people. It may change the way you look at prisoners, and prison in general. But the important thing is, prison make you a better judge of character. You pick up on people much faster. You should know who are the friends worth keeping, and the kind worth killing." He says, as if he's hinting at something. It somehow made Adam smile, knowing that there's someone who understands. "Thank you for telling me, Governor. Please keep me updated about the details." He stood up and shook his hand despite the shackles around his hands. "I will, Adam. I will. Tell Foust I said hi."

After saying their goodbyes, Adam walked out to the hallway, meeting Chance. "Well?" The bearded man asks. Adam poured everything to his trusted friend, including his concerns about the Governor's words. "The kind worth killing? That's deep." Chance comments. "But think. What does that mean? He probably didn't mean it literally right?" Adam says. Chance only shrugged his shoulders, not knowing what to say.

"Go get your man." Chance winks as he removes Adam's shackles. All the worry in Adam's eyes disappeared once his gaze fell on his lover, who stood in front of the mirror. Tim tried to reach his back as he looked into the mirror but failed miserably.

"You need any help?" He says. Tim smiled excitedly and opened the door for Adam. "I've been trying to rub some ointment on my back. I look crazy flailing around to reach my back." Tim chuckles.

Adam smiled and nodded. "Turn around, honey." He whispers. "Or, better yet, lie on your stomach." Tim obediently laid back down on his cot. After a few moments, he felt Adam straddle the small of his back. The blond had stripped down to his boxers. Tim knew because he felt Adam's warm skin against his. Carefully, Adam would leave a little kiss near the open wounds then apply some ointment.

Tim smiled as he felt Adam's soft lips grazing his skin. "I don't think that's a part of administering procedures." He says.

"Shh. It's to double the healing effects." Adam replies in a whisper. As he finished doctoring his lover's back, Adam sighed, helping Tim put his shirt back on, wrapping his arms around Tim.

"Angel, what's wrong?" Tim asks, carefully rolling on his back. Adam raised up a bit to give him room to turn around. "Nothing." Adam mumbles. His head now on Tim's shoulders. "Is it the Governor? What did he say?" Tim asks.

Adam decided that Tim deserves to know about the issue. He raised up, meeting a pair of brown worried eyes. "It's about my case. I may or may not be moved to a non-maximum security prison, or worse, be released." He says as tears fill his blue eyes.

Tim felt a lump in his throat upon hearing those words. "But...why?" Adam related the information to his lover. Before they knew it, tears were streaming down their cheeks as they embraced each other tightly.

"I'm so sorry to say this, Adam. But I want you here. Of course, part of me wants to see you walk away from here a free man but..." Adam put a finger on Tim's lips. "No. I don't want to talk about it." He says just before his lips captured Tim's. He didn't need any more commands.

Tim slowly pushed Adam on his back, hovering over the blue eyed man. Adam wrapped his arms around his neck while he entered Tim's mouth with his tongue. As the kiss deepened, Adam tugged at the bottom of Tim's shirt, which Tim quickly got rid of. He laid himself flat on top of his lover and ground their erections together. "Oh my God." Adam breathed out.

"Adam?" Tim whispers in a soft voice. His heart telling him to tell his lover that he loves him. But his brain was telling him not to crumble because the man beneath him may be leaving soon. It would only make things worse. "I ... never mind." Shaking his head.

Tim moved to peppering his jaw with little kisses then nibbling and kissing his neck, moaning into Adam's throat. In one swift motion, Tim had removed his jeans and threw them underneath the bed with Adam beneath his body. He made sure that every kiss would leave dark purple marks for Austin, or anyone else to see in the morning. Adam could do nothing but moan, squirm and grip as Tim continued working his way down his body.

"Let me make you feel better." Tim gives Adam a soft smile. He continued nipping and licking on Adam's chest, paying attention to his nipples. Adam could almost feel himself nearing the edge. But it just got more intense when Tim slipped off his boxers. Tim had started palming both of them.

It is as intense as their previous encounter. Only this time, they took the time to explore each other's body without a hurry, with the same amount of lust, but more passion.
