EVERYTHING FELL APART when Meg Wheeler left school and got rejected by her dream college — the one of which she was sure was going to help her achieve her goal of working as a detective.

So when the news started spreading that Hawkins Police Department were accepting two new interns, she jumped at the chance — eager to prove that she was worth more than just a college rejection letter.

And so, after going through a lengthy interview process and waiting for days on end for the department to call — she's finally chosen to be one of the two lucky graduates to take on an assistant role at Hawkins PD, alongside a boy called Chris Sinclair of whom she knows due to the friendship of their younger brothers.

But things aren't so plain sailing as she thought they would be — and, when the police receive a suspicious report from Joyce Byers about her missing son, Meg decides to put her best foot forward into the investigation.

However, when she finally has a lead, it starts to become more and more difficult to convince the Chief and other officers of her findings — after all, who's going to believe that the case surrounds a girl with telekinesis and a gate to another dimension..?
