When they reached the penthouse, San insisted that Wooyoung take a shower to try and help him relax while he made some calls.

It wasn't something that really interested him, but San practically stripped him and shoved him in the shower himself. So Wooyoung obliged and just stood in the hot water for a long as his body would allow.

Waiting for him on the counter was a pair of navy blue silk pajamas.

The first of many to come.

Wooyoung let his fingers run over them for a moment. He almost felt like if he put these on now... There was no going back. He would be accepting a new life.

A life with San.

Was that really what he wanted?

That moment of hesitation made him pause and lean against the wall.

San could protect him, provide for him, take care of him. It was everything Wooyoung had wished for growing up. A life out of poverty, being able to do anything he wanted. That was the life everyone dreamed of, right?

Or had it always been wishful thinking?

There was always the possibility of something else. He had a choice.

But then the sound of a slamming door echoed in his head and Wooyoung knew the door to that life was closed.

He sighed and looked at the blue cloth in front of him, then at the bathroom door.

He was happy with San. He had always looked forward to their dates at their time together.

Nodding once, Wooyoung got dressed and slowly walked into the main living room of San's penthouse.

"I don't care what it takes! I want this dealt with within the next 24 hours! Use whatever means necessary... Yes that's exactly what I mean!... What is so hard to understand? I. Want. This. Finished. Got it?... Thank you." San chucked his phone at the couch and ran his hands over his face.

"San?" Wooyoung said, hiding partially around the corner of the wall.

The older spun around and looked at him with surprise, then his face softened. "Hey, how are you feeling?"

"Better." Wooyoung bit his lip and looked down. "Was that about me?"

"Not directly. I'm trying to take care of Marcus. After what he did to you, you're not going back there ever again, ok?" San hurried over to him and cupped his face. "I won't let you."

Wooyoung nodded and made a small, pathetic sound in the back of his throat before he wrapped his arms around San and cried in his shoulder.

"It's ok, baby, it's ok. I'm going to handle everything." San whispered. He let his fingers play with the hair on the back of Wooyoung's head and neck until the younger was finally able to catch his breath. Leaning back a little, he brushed the tear tracks from Wooyoung's cheeks and gave him a soft smile. "Let's get you something to eat, yeah? I'm sure it's been awhile, right?"

With a simple nod, Wooyoung let San take him over to the kitchen island and sat on one of the stools while San called up some breakfast for them. A butler came in fifteen minutes later pushing a silver cart with trays of different options.

In all, it was too much food, but Wooyoung appreciated the fact that San wanted to give him options. It was mid afternoon by now, so there were a few sandwiches, a vegetable tray, two soups, fruit, and even some meat trays to pick from.

Wooyoung pulled over one of the trays of meat and started to pick at the sliced pork when San's phone started to ring again.

"Hello?... Yes..." His eyes widened. "Really? Now?... Ok... Ok." He hung up and turned to look at Wooyoung. "I have a few things I need to go take care of and then I'll be all yours, do you mind staying here by yourself for a bit?"

"Yeah, is everything ok?" Wooyoung fidgeted with his fingers in his lap, trying to calm his nerves. He didn't want to be a burden to San...

"It will be, baby, it will be. Please, unpack and make yourself at home." San smiled at him and kissed his forehead before heading to the elevator door.

As soon as it closed, Wooyoung looked around the empty condo and chewed on the inside of his lip. This was the first time he had been alone in San's home and it felt strange.

His eyes fell to the corner where his boxes had been placed for him to go through. One of Nova's cat toys was draped over the side and Wooyoung stood up when he realized he hadn't seen her yet.

"Nova? Where are you kitty?" He asked, walking around the penthouse.

A tiny meow answered him and Nova came prancing out of the bedroom with one of her mouse toys hanging from her jaw.

"What were you up to missy?" He asked, scooping her up and holding her above his head. "Hopefully nothing destructive because this isn't our home. This is a nice place."

Nova meowed again, causing the toy to drop onto Wooyoung's face, then down to the floor.

"Thanks." Wooyoung grumbled and brought her to his chest. Her soft purring vibrated his hand and she watched as he started pulling out her things.

Cat toys seemed like the last thing that would ever be seen in a fancy place like this, but San had said he was ok with Nova being here. Wooyoung did the best he could to keep her things out of the way, especially her covered litter box, while making a mental note to ask San about it later.

Once that was done, Wooyoung just dragged his box of clothes to San's gigantic closest and put it in the corner. He didn't want to intrude on the obvious organization San had going on, so once again he decided to just ask about it later.

San still wasn't back when he was done, so Wooyoung made himself a plate of food and walked over to the couch to try and figure out how the tv worked.

Nova curled up on a pillow next to him and watched him eat until her eyes drooped close and she covered her nose with her paw.

That's how San found him several hours later, sitting on the couch with his knees pulled up to his chest and his chin resting on top of them while watching some random show on the tv.

"Hey." San came to sit next to him and looped an arm around his shoulder. "You doing ok?"

Wooyoung hummed and leaned into his embrace. "I missed you though."

"I'm sorry, I got back as quickly as I could. Someone submitted a bunch of inaccurate reports so I needed to help my accountant straighten them out." His hand drifted up and down Wooyoung's arm slowly. "I'm glad to see you're getting settled, though. Both of you." He chuckled and tickled Nova's back with two fingers.

"Is she ok to be on the furniture? We never really discussed rules or anything before you left, and I don't want to be a rude guest in your home."

"I'm going to stop you right there, because this is your home too Youngie. You both have free reign of everything. The maids can take care of her as well. I'll add it to their list to check her box and food and water every day."

Wooyoung sat up and shook his head. "No, she's mine, I do—"

San smirked and pressed a finger to Wooyoung's lips. "You worry to much. I pay them a good wage, they will be more than happy to help."

Wooyoung looked down and leaned back into San. "Sorry... It's just going to take some getting used to."

"I know." The older whispered, rubbing his nose gently against the top of Wooyoung's head. "But I'm glad you're here. It'll be nice to not sleep alone at night anymore."

Immediately Wooyoung's chest tightened, but he tried to push the bad through threatening to creep into his mind.

This was going to be good for him. This is where he needed to be. San would take care of him.

They stayed up for a little while longer, but Wooyoung started to doze off partway through the second movie, so San helped get him into bed. "I know you had a rough day, come on."

He pulled Wooyoung into his chest and they both relaxed into the giant mattress.

The younger did his best to try and fall asleep, but he couldn't get his mind to shut off. Of course now is when it all decided to hit, but he just couldn't help himself. "Sannie?"

San hummed in response but didn't open his eyes.

"What's going to happen now?"

"What do you mean?"

Wooyoung hesitated. "With... With me?"

San propped himself up on his elbow so he could hover over Wooyoung and gave him a questioning look. "What do you mean, 'with you'. You make it sound like I'm going to just throw you to the curb when you least expect it." When Wooyoung winced, San sighed and cupped his cheek. "I want you to listen to me very carefully. You are not going anywhere, and I am going to make sure nothing else happens to you."

Leaning into his touch, Wooyoung allowed himself to soak in everything San was saying. It had been so long since he had allowed himself to trust anyone.

Luke had made sure to ruin that for him.

But San...

San was good.

"I am going to make sure Luke ends up behind bars, and I am going to get you out of working with Marcus. You never have to work again if you don't want to, but I'll leave that up to you." San ran his thumb across Wooyoung's cheek and gave him a fond gaze. "I meant it when I said I want to take care of you. You're special to me, Wooyoung. Seeing you like that yesterday... it terrified me. Who was he?"

"Someone I was foolish to fall for. He was the most popular guy in school, and someone everyone wanted to date." Wooyoung closed his eyes as if that would hide his shame. "He came onto me and was sweet with his words. At that time, I was vulnerable and I fell for it. I was still hiding who I really am from my parents, so there was also this... Secret thrill... That came from doing the exact thing they didn't want me to do."

He could feel San's eyes on him as he spoke, but San never gave any sign of interrupting him or wanting him to stop.

"Just before he left for college, I was a junior, he convinced me to get into drugs with him. It was something we did on a nightly basis, even if I didn't want to do it. He could be very manipulative... What Luke wanted, he always got. I realized too late the kind of person he actually was, and by then there was no way out. Until he left me. It was out of the blue too, so I'm not even sure what happened, although I have a feeling he found someone else to play with at college."

"Youngie, I'm so sorry." San whispered.

"It's ok. I mean, I managed to turn my life around and kick my addiction. My parents have always been another story. I had been able to hide most of it from them, but when I went through withdrawals they knew something was wrong and took me to every doctor in the area, and because I was a minor, the doctors could disclose everything I told them. One of those facts being that I got the drugs from my boyfriend."

"Oh..."

"You're lucky your parents accept you for who you are. You're so lucky. Mine were furious and there were more days than I'd like to admit that I showed up to school with some kind of bruise on my body. I had appointment after appointment that I went to as well because my parents thought a doctor could 'cure' me. So the first chance I got, I left and didn't look back."

San moved his hand to tilt Wooyoung's head back by gently lifting his chin. "Well I'll tell you one thing." A small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "I'm glad you left, because I would have never met you if you hadn't."

Wooyoung's heart jumped into his throat as he looked up into San's light brown eyes. "I'm glad I met you too, San."

They closed the distance between them and shared many sweet and passionate kisses, trying to convey just what they felt for each other at this moment.

For Wooyoung, he was so grateful for San. And he was happy to be here. He knew it would take him some time to get used to it, and to work through a few other things... but he knew San would be good for him.

So when they broke apart and settled into bed again, Wooyoung nestled in as close to San as he possibly could and promised himself that he would work on accepting this new life that had been given to him.
