The following morning, Wooyoung let out a small groan while stretching in bed. He rubbed his chest, avoiding his still slightly sensitive nipples and reached out with his other hand to find San.
His side of the bed was empty.
Wooyoung opened his eyes and looked around the room, feeling suddenly out of place amongst the luxurious setting. He glanced at San's spot.
It was cold to the touch, indicating that the older had been up for a while now.
Chewing on the inside of his cheek, Wooyoung slipped out of bed and started to pull his clothes on when he noticed a set of pajamas folded up on the low dresser in the room with a note on top of it.
A small smile crossed his face as he unfolded it and read through the elegant script.
My Wooyoung,
Sorry to leave you so early, but I have a lot of things I need to take care of today for the fundraiser tonight and you were sleeping so peacefully I could not bring myself to wake you. Help yourself to anything you see. The fridge is stocked, or you can order something to eat, they will just charge it to me. And find something comfortable in the closet to wear. Whenever you are ready, press the page button on the keypad by the elevator to let Pierre know that you are ready. I sent him back so that he can help you get ready for tonight. There is a slight schedule I need you to stick to, so please, enjoy yourself this morning but try to be on the road no later than 1pm. I made you an appointment to have a suit custom fit for you tonight and they need time to tailor it. After you are finished, Pierre will bring you to the banquet hall where I will be waiting for you. I cannot wait to see you.
San
A custom suit?
Wooyoung shook his head and set the paper down. It was too much... There was no way he could accept something like that.
He glanced over at the clock and noticed that it was already after eleven. He felt his eyebrows raise in shock, he never slept this late.
Although he and San were up pretty late the night before.
Wooyoung shivered when he remembered how good San made him feel.
He decided to forego the pajamas and went straight to the shower.
The warm water felt good against his aching and tense muscles, so he ended up standing underneath it for a long time to just enjoy the feeling.
If he was being honest with himself, Wooyoung was really nervous about the upcoming event. He had never been to anything like this before, and he could be so awkward in social situations either because he would break or knock something over, or because he would say the wrong thing.
And if this was as big of a deal as San was making it out to be, he didn't want to ruin it...
But it was too late to back out now.
He did as San asked and picked out something from his closet, electing to wear a simple pair of jeans and a black t-shirt so that he could be comfortable.
Wooyoung knew he should eat, but his stomach was in too many knots to be able to think about keeping it down, so he went straight to the panel to call Pierre.
The bodyguard greeted him at the elevator, just as San said he would. "Good afternoon, Sir. Are you aware of what we will be doing?"
"Yes. Thank you... For this." Wooyoung rubbed the back of his head.
A small smile tugged at the corner of Pierre's lips as he tried to keep his professional demeanor. "I'm just doing my job, Sir." He motioned for Wooyoung to start walking and fell into step beside him. "If I may," He started, dropping his voice to almost a whisper. "Mr. Choi must care for you a lot if he insists on me driving you around today and not staying by his side. Although I trust the security at the venue, it's rare for him to ask me to spend more than just a few hours away from him. So it is an honor for me to be here for you as well."
Wooyoung felt his heart pound in his chest and he started to play with his own fingers. "Thank, Pierre. I... I don't really know what to say." He blushed and looked down.
"Now words are needed Mr. Jung. I'm just glad to be of service." Pierre opened the door to San's limo and nodded.
"Oh, please, none of that 'Sir' or 'Mr' nonsense." Wooyoung waved his hands side to side in front of him. "God that's awkward. Please, just Wooyoung is fine."
Pierre looked like he was going to protest for a moment, but then he nodded once.
Wooyoung gave him a grateful smile and slipped into the backseat of the limo. It was odd being in here without San, but he knew today was a special circumstance, so he tried to make the best of it.
When they arrived at the tailor's shop, Wooyoung clenched his fists while walking inside. There was no way a suit from here was something he could ever dream of affording. The fine, high-end materials, mannequins on display, rows of cuff-links, belts, and leather shoes... He would never be able to shop here normally.
"Hello, you must be Mr. Jung?" A kind faced older man said from the back of the store.
"Uh- Yes, yes. Wooyoung, please." Wooyoung rubbed his sweaty palms against his jeans and continued to look around and fight the urge to run away...
Pierre placed a hand on his shoulder, drawing his attention, and nodded once. It didn't help much, but Wooyoung took a deep breath and walked back to where the man was waiting for him.
"Welcome. I have your suit waiting for you, I just need to take some measurements to make sure it fits ok. Although, I think Mr. Choi got your size pretty spot on so I don't think I'll need to do much." The more the man spoke, the more Wooyoung realized he had an accent, which matched his deep tan skin. "My name is Lorenzo, my wife Antonia will be joining us shortly to do your hair and makeup."
"What?" Wooyoung looked at him and took a step back. "No, this is t-to much."
Lorenzo chuckled and motioned for him to follow, "Mr. Choi said you'd be nervous. He also asked me to make sure you eat while you're here. It is our pleasure to help you today, Wooyoung. I have been working with Mr. Choi for a long time, so please, just try to relax and let that charming, handsome man spoil you."
Wooyoung blushed at his statement but resigned to the fact that it appeared he didn't have any say in the matter. And the man had a point, San seemed to enjoy spoiling him, so he needed to try and stop fighting it.
Over the next few hours, Wooyoung learned that Lorenzo and his wife had moved here several years ago from Italy when their daughter fell in love with a local while studying abroad. They had no other family, so they decided to make the move with her to stay close to her. He had brought his tailoring expertise with him and ended up becoming a very popular tailor because of his unique fashion and attention to details.
When Antonia came, she was just as kind. She fawned over Wooyoung as if he were her own son and forced him to eat at least some of the cheese and bread they provided. They also gave him a glass of wine which helped calm his nerves.
Lorenzo had been right, there weren't a lot of altercations that needed to be made to his suit. The black material was like butter. Wooyoung had never felt anything like it before and spent a long time just staring at himself in the mirror while lazily dragging his fingers over his opposite sleeve.
He hardly recognized himself, especially when Antonia got her hands on him and applied a light layer of makeup. She talked about how she didn't want to hide his natural beauty, but instead wanted to enhance it and give him a natural glow. But she did decide to add a thin line of black eyeliner, drawing it out far enough for a small wing, to make his eyes pop.
She also styled his hair for him, making it so that the left side was slicked back, and the right side still hung semi loose.
San thought of everything, it seemed, because once he was dressed in his new form fitting suit, Lorenzo came forward with a box that had diamond cuff-links and earrings in it for him to wear.
After many words of thanks, Wooyoung followed Pierre from the shop feeling more nervous than ever. It was starting to get late when they finally arrived at the venue. There were already lines of limos and other cars out front and a slew of photographers ready to take their pictures.
Pierre pulled the limo around to the back of the building and flashed something to the security guard there before he was let through.
It looked like they had set aside a private area for special vehicles and even staff. There were several people carrying trays of food in from catering vans or tables from other large trucks.
"Mr. Choi is inside. Come, I know you are anxious to see him." Pierre led Wooyoung through the backdoor and into the behind the scenes madness. There were several loud clatters from what was probably the kitchen and a few of the waiters pushed their way past to see what happened.
Wooyoung stayed close to Pierre since he was so much bigger and could make a hole in traffic for them to slip through until they got to a small meeting room a few hallways over.
They stepped inside and Wooyoung instantly felt himself relax when he saw San standing in the corner looking over a small stack of note cards in his hand.
The older looked up when he heard the door close and his mouth fell open as he took in Wooyoung. "Youngie... Wow." He gasped. His eyes raked over the small details, like the cuff-links and the way the suit hugged Wooyoung's waist. "Just, wow. You look incredible. Lorenzo outdid himself, wouldn't you say Pierre?"
"Yes, Sir." The body guarded nodded next to Wooyoung.
"Please make sure he gets a generous tip for his efforts. And Antonia." San walked forward and reached up to gently caress Wooyoung's cheek. "You're breathtaking." He whispered.
Wooyoung felt himself blush, especially since Pierre was still in the room, but it didn't stop his heart from racing. San looked just as good, if not better. He had his round glasses on again and his hair was slicked back on both sides with just a small chunk curling over his face. His suit was a stunning light grey and he had a light green tie on for a pop of color.
"Everything is almost done. Are you doing ok?" San asked, placing one hand on Wooyoung's waist.
"I'm nervous, and I feel out of place." The younger laughed nervously. "And I'm pretty sure this suit costs more money than I've made, like, total."
San laughed brightly, making his eyes crease before kissing Wooyoung's forehead. "I was waiting for you to comment on that. Don't think about anything like that. Just try to enjoy the evening, ok? The beginning is going to be a little busy with speeches and such, but once dinner starts and I make my rounds then we can just enjoy."
"I'd like that. Do you need me to do anything?"
"Just stay close." San winked at him, then looked at his watch. "It's time." He took a deep breath. "Ok, stay off to the side with Pierre for now, it's going to be too hard to show you to your table now. Everyone should already be seated. I'll make my speech, then you can come out once everyone starts mingling."
"I can do that." Wooyoung smiled. "Good luck."
San stole one quick kiss from him before they made their way to the main hall.
Wooyoung could hear all the people talking inside. If he were about to give a speech in front of them, he'd be a nervous wreck. But San looked so calm and composed. It made the younger admire him so much.
The audience quieted down as soon as San entered the room. He waved and gave them a bright smile while walking over to the podium that had been set up. Then he winked at Wooyoung once before starting his speech.
It was a very eloquent one, talking about San's reasons behind the fundraiser and why he was so proud to be heading it. He spoke about wanting to give back to the community that had helped him so much and that he wanted to be able to do some good for others. At the end, he made a few jokes while asking for donations, before following up with a serious plea, making sure that everyone knew that everything spent on the auction tonight would all go toward the fundraiser.
The hall erupted in applause and San bowed a few times before turning to the first group of people who came up to shake his hand.
It was then that Wooyoung stepped out shyly and started to walk toward him.
San must have sensed him, because he turned around and held out a hand for Wooyoung to take as soon as the men left to look at the auction. "Be honest, how was it?" San asked, leaning forward so he could be heard over the noise.
"Perfect. You're a natural Sannie." Wooyoung beamed, feeling pride flow through him. "I'm sure the auction is going to raise a lot of money tonight."
"Thanks, baby."
"San!" A woman's voice called out. She wove through the crowd and Wooyoung instantly knew she had to be his mother. She had the same sharp jawline and nose, as well as a bright smile that showed a set of dimples. "You did marvelous, dear." She placed her hands on either side of his cheeks and kissed his forehead.
"Thanks, Mom. And thank you for coming."
"You know I'd never miss this. I am so proud of you." She cupped his chin, then turned to look at Wooyoung.
"Mom, this is Wooyoung." San looked at the younger as well with a soft look in his eyes.
"Oh! So you're this mysterious Wooyoung I've heard so much about. I'm so happy to finally meet you!" She held out her hand, which Wooyoung shook immediately.
"It's nice to meet you too." Wooyoung said, feeling slightly embarrassed for some reason.
"I can see why my son is so smitten with you. You're quite the looker." She winked, making Wooyoung look at the floor and turn a shade of pink. He thought he heard her say something about him being cute, but with his heart pounding in his head, he couldn't be sure.
"Did he come?" San asked, drawing Wooyoung's attention. He was craning his neck and looking around the hall.
"Yes, I saw him a minute ago. I think he was feeling a little overwhelmed, you know how he does in large crowds like this, so he stepped outside for a minute."
San placed a hand over his heart and nodded. "I will be sure to find him. I can't believe he came." His voice dropped and Wooyoung could see his eyes start to tear up.
After his mom left, mentioning that she saw a friend, Wooyoung let San pull him around the hall. He was anxious to find whoever it was he was looking for, which sparked Wooyoung to ask, "Has it been awhile since you've seen your family?" He wondered if San didn't have a close relationship with his dad and that's why he was so excited right now.
"A little longer than usual, yeah. Mom and Dad are busy with their own small business a few hours away. They run a travel agency, so nothing major, but they love it." San said over his shoulder. "And..." He paused when someone else stopped him to say hello.
Wooyoung smiled, loving how excited San looked as he spun in another circle to look around the hall. It made him wish he had that kind of relationship with is parents and he started to wonder what San's dad looked like.
Then San hopped up and down in place and clapped his hands. He must have found who he was looking for because he grabbed Wooyoung's hand once more and pulled him forward.
But Wooyoung's excitement soon left him when his eyes fell on who San was heading for.
This had to be a trick. Had he found out?
Or was Wooyoung going insane.
This couldn't be real...
Wooyoung let his hand slip out of San's when they got closer, allowing the older to run forward and wrap his arms around his target.
"You came! I can't believe it!" San said, spinning the other boy around in a circle.
"I told you I would, to make up for missing the last one." The familiar voice rolled over Wooyoung, sending an unpleasant chill down his spine.
"I don't care about that. I'm just so happy to see you, it's been too long. I have someone I want you to meet." He looked over the boy's shoulder to motion Wooyoung forward. "Remember I told you that I met someone?"
Wooyoung couldn't bring himself to move.
Especially once the boy started to turn around and he was met with a pair of blue eyes that visited him almost every night.
"Jongie, this is Wooyoung. Wooyoung, I want you to meet my brother, Jongho!"
