There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.

Jace's eyes widened a bit as he stared at the woman. She looked older than she actually was, her skin worn from the years she had been doing this work - out in the field and on the inside. Commanding a vast majority of people in this institute couldn't have been easy - especially with people like Jace, and he knew there were a lot of agents like himself, hotheaded and prone to ignore direct orders. Emily looked extremely tired as well, making Jace feel a little sorry for her.
"Alcatraz?" he repeated, in case he had heard wrong. Simon gave him a confusing look. "But there's nothing on it anymore, right? I mean, it's a place where tourists go because of the whole prison and military backround." he said, his eyes going from Jace to Emily and back. It was Daisy, who replied. "Yes, that is true, it is a tourist spot. But not just." she piped up, but earned a glance from Emily, that made her fall silent. She shuffled with her feet and sat down on her chair behind the computers.
Emily stepped up, examining their faces. Jace looked up at the ceiling, sighing. "They have a secret ops center on the basement levels, below the sealine." Jace said to Simon, whose eyes widened in surprise. His watched as Simon's head whipped towards Emily in question. "You're kidding? I always knew that the conspiracy theories were true!" Simon punched the air with his fist, as if he'd won something and Jace laughed slightly at his nerdinness. Emily didn't seem pleased. "Yes, well, Jace is correct. There is such a... top secret facility. And the chip is there, well-guarded. But we don't know who is on Valentine's side. The chip is in danger, as long as Valentine is still on the loose." she said and Jace tilted his head to the side, thoughtful.
"Why not just destroy the chip?" he asked and Emily's mouthed formed a thin line. "It's complicated." she said, tight-lipped and curt. Jace exchanged a look with Simon. 'They want to use it for something'. Jace nodded slightly to Simon and then turned back to Emily. "Alright, we can work from here, with Daisy, we've got all the necessary equipment, right?" he asked Simon and the brunette smiled, nodding. Daisy looked excited now as well, mainly, it would seem, because Simon would be working there as well. Jace had thought that his charms worked on Daisy, but it would seem that being nerdy and into IT would beat plain good-looks and muscle every day for Daisy. Not that Simon wouldn't have those either. He watched, amused, as Simon approached the screen, Daisy chattering excitedly, showing him her programs and stuff Jace didn't understand.
He turned back to Emily, who was watching them silently, tapping her foot against the hard tile floor. "I need all the files you got on Valentine, even the 'classified' ones. And I know they are existent, I worked here, remember?" he said and saw Emily's eyes shift from annoyance to hesitance. "Fine. I'll get someone to send them over. You will be supervised, by the way." she said and Jace groaned. "I don't need Carter to babysit us." he insisted, but Emily smiled. "Oh, don't worry, he won't be the one supervising you. He proved to me that if you should try to escape or try anything, he wouldn't be competent enough to handle it." she said, eyeing Simon, who was still chatting with Daisy, pushing a lot of buttons and keys behind the computer screens. Jace smiled fondly at his boyfriend.
Emily reached for her ear, where a communication device was set, and spoke to it. "Carter, send Ramirez up here." she said softly and Jace raised an eyebrow, not recognizing the name. "I will go and give the orders for the files and have them delivered, if you need anything else, talk to Ramirez. Also, I want you to work as quick as possible. The faster we find them, the better - you should know what could happen when Valentine gets the chip somehow." she said, voice quipped and Jace resisted the urge to roll his eyes.
The doors opened and a man walked in. His skin was the color of chocolate brown his eyes almost dark brown, almost black. His hair was black, shaven from the sides and the rest curled up into a quiff-like style, some of the curls falling to his face. He was just a little taller than Jace, his body slightly wider, but the muscles from underneath the black T-shirt we're impressive. He eyed the newcomer and Ramirez stepped up, extending a hand, his shining white teeth almost blinding. "Adam Ramirez. You must be the infamous Jace Herondale." he said and his voice was smooth and deep, almost thundering as he spoke. Jace shook his hand, smiling as well. "Yup, that's me. That's Simon, by boyfriend." he said, nodding towards the screens.
Simon was crouching over Daisy, the girl had a dreamy expression on her face as Simon reached for another pen to write something down. Jace wanted to chuckle - poor girl. He coughed, getting the brunette's attention and he raised his eyes. Jace noticed that Emily had slipped away. Simon sauntered over, a bright smile on his lips as he gave Adam a one-over. "Hey, I'm Simon." he introduced himself and Jace saw Adam stare at the brunette. And then, he realized the way he was looking at his boyfriend. And he did not like the look.
"Hello, Simon. I'm Adam. I'm going to be around, helping if you need anything, but mainly making sure you don't cause any trouble. And from what I hear, you are a troublemaker." the agent said, his voice a lot more flirty than it was when he was talking to Jace and to the blonde's dismay, the man actually winked at Simon. The brunette blushed, seemingly panicking as he gave Jace a quick glance. The blonde tried not to grit his teeth, but rolled his eyes instead. "Um, right, well, Carter had it coming." Simon said then, and Jace could tell he was slightly uncomfortable. His protective side was raising it's head as he inched closer to Simon.
Adam didn't seem to notice, laughing. The voice was pure and melodious. Jace hated the fact that there was seemingly nothing he could hate about him. Except the fact that he was clearly hitting on his boyfriend. "I couldn't agree more. I heard you are quite the IT expert as well, when you are not punching people?" Adam asked conversationally and Simon blushed once more. "Yeah, you could say that, I guess." he said and Adam tilted his head. "I used to be the head engineer back at the Brazilian ops center. Nice to meet a fellow enthusiast." the agent said and smiled at Simon. The brunette smiled back and Jace resisted the urge to step before Simon, blocking him from Adam's gaze.
Then, Daisy coughed (god bless her) and their eyes fell on the little girl. "Um, Mr. Lewis? The file you wanted is ready." she said and Jace saw Simon's mouth quirk up. "Daisy, there's no way in hell you are going to call me that. It's Simon." he said lightly and Jace saw Daisy blush (what the hell was happening in this room!?). He almost shook his head, but Simon nodded to Adam, kissed Jace on the cheek and then went towards Daisy. Jace gave Adam a cold glance, but the other didn't seem to be receiving it. Instead, he smiled brightly at the duo behind the computers. "You've got yourself a good one there." he stated and Jace scoffed, drawing Adam's eyes to him again. "Yeah, I know." he said, every word pronounced carefully. 'Back off', was what he wanted to say. Adam gave him a smile and brushed past him, moving to see what the other two were doing.
In the end, Jace felt very left out, once he got the files he had requested. He didn't know about computers not nearly enough as the three other people in the room, so he was sitting behind a table, coffee in front of him, the papers scattered as Simon, Daisy and Adam worked behind the screens. Jace's eyes went up to them and he observed them more than once. It was actually quite comical. Since Jace was used to himself having all the attention, it was weird to observe the three. Well, he knew Simon would be in the center of attention, more than once, looking like he did. But the way Daisy acted around him was both funny and sad at the same time. She obviously knew he was gay, from their earlier interaction, but she was still blushing when Simon even slightly complimented her, and went out of her way to help him or explain her programs and computers. Then there was Adam. He was laughing at mostly every word Simon said (what the fuck, who does that) and his eyes were almost always searching the brunette's. Jace observed as Simon smiled, probably blissfully unaware of the attention he was getting from the two.
At that moment, Adam said something and Simon laughed, and Jace could see Adam putting a hand on Simon's arm. Jace raised an eyebrow, but said nothing, moving back to the papers. He was the jealous type, he knew that, but he wasn't going to make a big deal out of it. He knew Simon, he loved him and trusted him. Even though is this should keep on happening and Simon was still going to be the oblivious adorable idiot he is, Jace might just have to do something. Like knock Adam on his ass. That would be both hilarious and satisfiying. He was so caught up in daydreaming about the possibilities, that he didn't notice Simon approaching. Only when there was a tray with food set down in front of him, did he blink and realize his boyfriend was standing next to his chair. "Hey, babe. Hungry?" he asked and leaned down, aiming for the blonde's lips. Jace decided to play the 'offended and pouting boyfriend' for a change and turned his head, so Simon's lips touched his cheek.
The brunette gave him a confused glance, but Jace just took the tray, looking for the fork. "Yeah, thanks." he replied, starting to eat the mashed potatoes. Daisy and Adam joined them at the round table, both with their own trays. Simon's was set next to Jace's, but the brunette didn't eat. He was eyeing Jace. "Okay, what's wrong?" he asked, tone demanding and Jace suppressed a smile. Instead, he eyed the two a little further from them, Daisy listening intently to something Adam was blabbering about. Luckily, they were far enough so they couldn't hear what they were saying, if Jace lowered his voice enough.
"Nothing, babe. Sit down, eat." Jace said, uninterested and saw Simon bite his lip. "I will, just as soon as you tell me why you're being a pouty-face." the brunette announced and Jace's lip quirked involuntarily. He hid it and sighed dramatically. "I'm not." he stated plainly and Simon rolled his eyes at him. Fuck, he was so hot. On top of everything, he licked his lip ring and Jace felt his resistance slip away. "Come on, I know something's up. Why are you being so difficult? I mean, I would ask you to come over and help us with the computer stuff but I know you don't really have the skills or want to do that." Simon tried and this time, Jace huffed in actual annoyance. "Yeah, you and Adam seem to be doing a fantastic job on your own. Wouldn't want be to intervene the dream team." he said, stabbing a pea on his tray. He glanced at Adam and Daisy, luckily both we're still engrossed in conversation.
Simon clicked his tongue. "Where did that come from?" he asked, incredulous and Jace finallt spared a glance at him. His oblivious face said it all. "Oh, god. You really didn't notice, didn't you? You are such an adorable idiot, Simon." Jace said, slightly relieved. Simon furrowed his brows, glancing at Adam and then back at Jace. "What?" he asked and Jace rolled his eyes. "He is clearly hitting on you, love." the blonde said, now taking a piece of steak. It was actually pretty good. He could hear Simon make a noise and he looked up, to see Simon's surprised and thinking. He almost chuckled and turned back to his tray.
Then, he felt Simon's hands on his. The brunette removed the fork from his hands and moved them away, so he could slid into Jace's lap. The blonde was perplexed, staring at his boyfriend, as Simon straddled him. Simon leaned down and kissed him, right on the lips, with tongue and everything. Jace forgot about the other two people in the room and kissed back immediately, loving the way Simon tasted on his tongue and how he felt the weight of him on his lap. It wasn't a very long kiss, granted, but it was one of the best Simon had given him. When the brunette pulled back, his eyes were shining. "I didn't even notice, because I only have eyes for you, angel. You know that. You're the only one for me." he said and Jace felt his heart was about to burst with love. He smiled at Simon, looking up and Simon pressed a small kiss on his nose. "Also, I agree with the adorable part, but not the idiot part. I think that's you." Simon said and Jace rolled his eyes, but laughed.
"Yeah, right, keep dreaming." he said and Simon smirked. He turned, so his legs were now on the same side of Jace and reached for his tray. He started to eat and Jace let his hands fall on Simon's hips. "Oh, are you just going to stay here then?" he asked, slightly surprised and Simon raised an eyebrow at him. "You got a problem with that?" he asked and Jace stared back at him. Simon smirked, biting his lip ring. Jace swallowed. "Nope." he managed to say and Simon turned back to his food. "Good." he said, biting down on the meat. Jace caught Adam's glance from across the table, his eyes slightly annoyed as he watched them. Jace gave him his best smile, wrapping his arms around Simon. He only felt a little bad for Daisy, who was watching them with wide eyes. Maybe the public display of affection could've been avoided, for her sake. Then again, as Jace watched Simon, he was pretty damn sure he couldn't have resisted him anyways. When Simon wanted something, he got it, and when it involved Jace... well, there's was really no other way than to give in.
***
"I think I got something." Jace said, moving a piece of paper from the table. The three people behind the screens raised their eyes at him. They moved towards where he was sitting on the couch now, sick of having to sit on the chair. Simon got there first, plopping down next to him, closer than necessary and Jace tried not to smile. Simon was really making an effort here. He showed them the paper. "It's an old document, about a warehouse down at Hunters Point. It's registered to the name of Jocelyn Morgenstern." he said, showing the document to Simon, who took it with a confused face.
His eyes shone in recognition as he looked back up at Jace. "Clary's mom. But why is this important?" he asked, giving the paper to Adam next. Jace leaned back, thinking. "I mean, we're in San Francisco, Clary was spotted driving near the docks at that region and it's her mom's locker? I mean, maybe there is something in there that they need - or needed. It's worth checking out, right? Maybe there's a clue there." the blonde pondered and Simon nodded. "Right, especially because it's from a time when she was still wearing the Morgenstern name." he agreed. Adam seemed to agree with them. "I can ask for the boss lady's permission to examine the warehouse, although she might insist Carter to come with us. He is the lead agent on this, anyways." he said, clearly not pleased with the man either. Well, at least they had that in common, Jace thought.
"We also found something." Simon piped up, motioning for Jace to follow him to the screens. "Okay, so remember the guy that was with Clary in that car? Well, Daisy here is a miracle worker," he started, giving the girl an approving glance, and Daisy smiled at the praise "and managed to identify him. His name is Carl Westons. There's not much to know about him, because it seems to be a fake name. Has an apartment contract and even a phone bill record, but it's all very clean, possibly a fake identity to cover up tracks. But I dug into his files and found something suspicious." Simon clicked something and a picture of a man came up, the man from the car. Right next to him came a picture of a woman, looking very similar to him, only she was a lot younger. "There are a lot of checks going to a rehabilitation facility from our Carl, specifically to her name. Now, why would he do that, if this is a fake identity? The girl's name is Ellen Lombard." Simon kept going and Jace watched the screens.
The man had pale skin and black hair reaching his shoulders, bushy eyebrows and his eyes were gray, just like the girl's. The column next to the girl told Jace that she was 17. "So, Ellen is in that facility because of drug abuse. Has been there for about a year now, she has had about three relapses at the time, and she has been diagnosed with depression. So, I studied her family tree. Turns out, she had foster parents, who had a biological son. The son was about 10 years older than her, and she was only 5 when she was adopted. Guess who's picture I found, when I searched the brother up." Simon smiled victoriously and Jace smirked at his boyfriend. "Our friend Carl?" he asked and Simon nodded, face lighting up.
"Yup, his real name is Hans Lombard. Ellen's name was changed when she was adopted, so they have the same name. But their parents died in a house fire when Ellen was 12 and Hans was 22. He got a job and tried to make a living for them, but Ellen started using drugs when she was about 15. When Hans found out, he put her into rehab. So, he had to pay for it somehow, right? I'm pretty sure that's when he started working for criminals, like Valentine. Only, Valentine was in prison, so how could he work for him?" Simon asked, his brow now furrowed and Jace hummed. "Maybe Valentine's plans never stopped existing. He went to prison, but he had followers, right? Maybe they were just laying low, waiting for the moment to break him out. And then the plan would still be intact. Maybe this Hans guy was recruited at that time? Or maybe he's the one who orchestrated the break-out?" Jace pondered and Simon leaned back, thinking. "Yeah, that could be. But I didn't find much on him, his records as Hans end a year back, when he registered his sister to the facility. Before that he has no criminal record. Only some work contracts here and there and a school diploma." Simon said sadly.
Jace frowned. "What did he study?" he asked and Simon hummed again, his fingers moving over the keyboard. "Um, molecular science and relative theory. Oh, an a minor in programming." he said, frowning too, now. "Weird, those things don't usually go together." he mumbled and Jace stood up, pacing. "I mean, those things are exactly the kind of things you'd need to know to plan a break-out, right? He is smart as hell, plus he knows programming. But I don't get why would they need Clary... And what is their plan with the chip or how they are going to get it." Jace exhaled, slightly tired. Simon nodded in agreement, looking defeated, too.
"Guys, this is a good thing." Adam said and Jace almost startled. He had forgotten the other two were there. "We'll see what we can get from the warehouse and then try and find this Hans guy, now that we know his real name. I just got clearance for the mission from Emily. We can leave early in the morning. Right now, I think it's best if we all get some sleep." the agent said and Jace looked at the clock. It was half past 2. He whistled. "Damn, did anyone notice how long we've been here?" he asked and they all shook their head. Daisy's eyes were literally drooping with sleep.
"Yeah, we should definitely get some shut-eye." Jace agreed and Adam smiled at them. "Follow me, I'll show you to your rooms. Goodnight, Daisy." he said politely and as Jace and Simon said their goodbyes, Daisy just mumbled something tiredly. When they stepped outside, the offices were all dark and empty. Simon's hand slid into Jace's and he smiled. He squeezed and felt comfort in the fact that Simon was next to him. Adam lead them to a white room, with just a small desk and a bed, that could barely fit two people. "Alright, the other one is across the hallway." Adam said, and Jace could hear something in his voice - triumph? Simon turned in disbelief. "Huh?" he asked and didn't let go of Jace's hand. "Well, we don't exactly have the luxuries of kings-sized beds, besides, we didn't know of your relation to each other. Hence, two bedrooms." Adam explained, clearly pleased with himself. Jace opened his mouth, to say something obnoxious, but Simon spoke first.
"I don't really care who sleeps in that room, but it won't be either of us. I'm perfectly fine here, thanks." he said, sauntering into the room determinedly and sat down on the edge of the bed. Adam looked slightly perplexed. "But, you won't be comfortable here. And you both need to rest for tomorrow." he said, his eyes shifting between them. "I mean, with us two, there's never really much sleeping anyways." Simon said, blunt and clear, a smile on his face as he stared right at the agent. Jace watched in amusement as Adam's ears turned red and his mouth moved, but nothing came out. "Right, well, goodnight then. 6 a.m." he finally said, tone annoyed and he left, closing the door a little louder than necessary. Jace turned, hands going to his hips, to stare at his boyfriend. "Well, that wasn't very nice of you." he said, amused. Simon shrugged. "I wasn't lying." he told Jace and the blonde laughed.
"Oh, Simon. You'll be the death of me." Jace stated, coming towards him and stood before the brunette. Simon hummed, leaning in and lifted his shirt, pressing a kiss against his hard abs. Jace sighed, when he felt the hot lips against his skin. "Definitely the death of me." he repeated and Simon chuckled, the motion slightly tickling against Jace's abdomen. Simon's hands went to his behind and he pulled, making them both topple to the bed, Jace on top of Simon.
"This IS a tiny bed." Jace commented and Simon gave him an amused grin. "I guess we'll have to be extra close to each other to fit, then. How horrible." he said sarcastically and Jace laughed again. "I know, it's just terrible, how will I manag-" his smart-ass words were cut short as Simon pressed his lips to Jace's. "You talk too much, angel." Simon mumbled against his lips and the blonde hummed in approval, letting Simon's tongue touch his. They were finally alone, and even though Jace knew that with everything going on, sex should be the last thing they'd think about, but... It was Simon. He looked fucking hot under him, out of breath and face flushed, biting down on his lip ring when they pulled apart. Jace growled and leaned down, biting the ring himself, making Simon moan.
"Ah, fuck, I think I'm going to last exactly 2 seconds." the brunette said in a husky voice and Jace smirked. He knew how Simon felt, his own hard-on brushing against his boyfriends through their clothes. It was torture, but it was also so damn good. "Yeah, we really shouldn't be going so long without sex, it's against the law or some shit." he said, leaning down to remove Simon's shirt with ease. The other laughed, his eyes crinkling at the sides and Jace smiled down at him. He pulled Simon's sweats down, throwing them somewhere in the room and then took off his own clothes, leaving only boxers on. There was just a small window in their room, the moonlight illuminating their bodies. Jace tilted his head, staring at Simon. His eyes shone brightly, the brown covered with lust and love alike, his elbows supporting him, the muscles outlined and his chest falling and rising rapidly. The smug smile on his face was also present.
Jace pushed him down on his back, straddling him and took a hold of his hands, pinning them above him. Simon let out a gasp, staring at him and Jace ducked his head, grazing his teeth against Simon's skin, reaching one of his nipples and sucking on it. Simon let his head fall back as he let out a strangled noise. He bucked his hips, meeting Jace's erection and the blonde gasped, eyes squeezed shut. Jace's grasp tightened on Simon's arms, holding them in place and he pushed down on him, grinding against Simon's hips. The brunette moaned his name, like a prayer and Jace felt his dick throbbing with excitement.
He kissed Simon's neck and then bit it gently. Simon withered under him. "Keep them there, baby." Jace said, releasing his hands and Simon obeyed, his hands staying where they were and Jace kissed a trail down to his abdomen. He removed Simon's boxers slowly, letting his dick spring free and he licked his lips. He wanted to touch it and suck on it, but he knew Simon's body like the back of his hand. He didn't want this to end too soon and with the way Simon was wriggling under him, it would. So, instead, he kissed his stomach again as he brushed his finger over Simon's entrance. The brunette let out a whimper and Jace saw his hands twitch, but they stayed in place. He smiled against his boyfriends skin. "Oh, baby, you are doing so well." he praised him, like they we're playing a game and he saw Simon's lips part, the brunette breathing heavily.
Jace licked his finger, before he let it slide into Simon and the brunette let out a small noise. Jace moved it very carefully, knowing Simon hadn't bottomed in a long while. But he could only move for a few seconds, when Simon's hoarse voice reached him. "Jace, I'm going to lose my mind here. Stop being so gentle with me." he breathed out and Jace's eyes flew up to him. Simon was watching him intently, biting his lip and gaze piercing. The blonde's mouth fell open just a little at the words. He removed his boxers and then reached down again, this time sliding three lubricated fingers into him. Simon moaned, loud, so loud that Jace was pretty sure someone heard them, although he had no idea if there was anyone around.
"Ah fuck, that's so fucking good." Simon moaned and Jace felt himself twitch. He needed to be in Simon, or he would come just by looking at his boyfriend. He climbed on him, his arms going up again to pin Simon's hands in place. He kissed Simon's jawline and when he entered his boyfriend, Simon let out a low moan, the sound vibrating through Jace. He moved, rough and deep and Simon clenched around him, making Jace tip so close to the edge, he moaned and buried his face into the crook of Simon's neck. "Fuck, I can't-" Simon stammered, his eyes closed and face the image of pure bliss, when he released, and Jace felt the hot substance between their bodies. He came a moment after his boyfriend, seeing red dots behind his closed eyelids. Jace didn't think they'd ever finished so fast before.
When he opened his eyes, Simon was staring at him, panting. Jace released his hands and they flew to Jace's hair, pulling him down and into a kiss, not bothered by the mess he made. Their lips moved in sync, conveying every emotion, but most of all, love and care. Simon pulled back, smiling. "I love you, angel." he said, voice hoarse and a whisper. Jace smiled back, kissing his lips briefly. "And I love you, babe." he replied, observing as Simon's eyes were alive, like a fire dancing behind them, burning hot and bright.
He moved and when he plopped down next to Simon, the brunette yawned loudly. Jace chuckled, going to the bathroom, that he had spotted before and came back to see Simon dozing off. He cleaned his boyfriend gently, while Simon mumbled something. He looked utterly adorable. When Jace was done, he went to clean himself. When he came back, Simon was already letting out cute little snores. He chuckled, getting a cover to pull over them and he lay down, moving close to Simon, cuddling him and kissed his temple. "Goodnight, Si." he whispered before he joined his boyfriend in the land of dreams.

A/N: I wanted to put more of their relationship dynamics in here, but I also had to keep going with the story, so this was a mix of everything. I hope you understand everything that's going on, this story became more complicated than I originally thought it would be, but I think it's pretty exciting? I don't know, I just hope I am not boring you all. Also, I really do be needing someone to do the spell-check because I really couldn't be bothered with it xddd I'm sorry! Well, actually, I do do it but I miss most of them typos so... Anywayssss
As always, vote and comment (I adore your comments so much!) and see you next Thursday! :)x
