Now that I think about it, last night was confusing. I'm pretty sure that when you and your husband split up, it's supposed to be for good, and not because the past relationship didn't work out. ***I don't know if this is the true meaning of a midlife crisis, or if she's going through something, but my life was completely altered when she left, and it's not okay for her to just waltz in and think that everything will be perfect again.
"Morning Dad," I said sitting at the kitchen table, while he made breakfast. "Breakfast smells good." Mom being gone, made Dad take more cooking classes, and watching those cooking networks, and that's probably one of the biggest benefits from her leaving us, sweet homemade food.
"Good morning sweetie, how was your sleep?" Dad asked, flipping the pancakes.
"Do you really want me to answer that?" I said, reading the morning paper. "Anyways, what time did Mom leave last night?"
"Oh yeah, Madison, I think you should know that-"
"Morning honey." Mom said, from behind me, in her robe, grabbing her orange juice.
"Mom? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at the hotel?" But I got nothing but silence, and exchanged look from my parents. It kinda disgusted me to see my mom in just a night robe, especially since she and Dad are divorced. "Mom, did you sleep here?"
"Okay, I'm leaving." Not getting a response from either one of them, I grabbed my book bag, and left. This was just too much to handle. Not only is Mom having kissing sessions with Dad, but she's sleeping here too.

I saw Cam and the guys walking up to my locker, but then I also Jack, who suddenly dropped all of his book and fell right on his face, how embarrassing, but entertaining, it sure took me out of my funk. Cam, the guys, and everyone else was laughing and pointing, and reminiscing back to when Brooklynn spilled hot cheese on me, I couldn't just let this go by. I quickly ran to his help, helping him with his millions of book he was holding.
"Hey, are you okay? You can't be holding so many books, while walking fast, don't you have a locker?"
"No, my girlfriend is using my locker." He said. I've never heard him talk before, he had a really sweet voice.
"Well what happened to your girlfriend's locker?"
"She's using it. She can be quite the charm." He said sarcastically. "I'm Jack, thanks for helping me."
"I'm Madison, and you're welcome. Don't you sit way in the back in one of my classes, because I'm sure this isn't the first time I've seen you."
"Yeah, but we also met yesterday. You were the girl my girlfriend was yelling at during lunch."
"Yeah, Tess." I noticed I was talking to Jack longer than I should have, because the guys were already at my locker, watching me talk to him. Awkward. "Well, I gotta get going, it was nice talking to you"
"Okay, have a good day, Madison."
Walking up to the guys felt more awkward than it looked. Cam's entire facial expression dropped.
"Hey guys." I said softly.
"Hey Mads, why were you late?" Nash said.
"I walked to school."
"With him? Jack?" Cameron said, eyeing him down.
"No, I was just helping him up, he was carrying his book and didn't have a locker."
"Well, that's upsetting, but you're still not telling me why you walked?"
"I'll explain later." I said shrugging my shoulders.
"Mads, if you're still upset about last night-
"No, it's not that. I had a great time, really. It's just my parents." I said, looking at Jack from my peripheral vision, he was talking to Tess, who was giving me the same look Cam gave Jack. Cam turned around to look at Jack, who was looking at me, while Tess pulled him away, as usual. She treats him like a purse dog.
"I don't like the way he looks at you Mads, it kinda makes me jealous."
"And as much as I love hearing you say that, you don't have to worry about him, he's dating Tess." I said giving Tess one last stare. She looked like poison.

I pretended to listen while Tess was going on and on about someone not knowing the choreography to the new routine for cheerleading, but really, I was thinking about Madison. Something about her stood out the minute our eyes met. You would never catch Tess helping me with anything like she did.
All Tess wants is someone to tell we she's pretty every day, and don't get me wrong, she's gorgeous, but I want more in our relationship than just compliments and my arm being pulled every second.
"Hey babe, are you gonna come to my cheerleading try outs today? I am the captain you know."
"Sure Tess, anything for you. But I'll have to leave early, I got guitar lessons later."
"Whatever, just don't be late." She said, putting her headphones in.
"Sure thing babe. I love you Tess."
"I'm sorry, did you say something." She said, taking out her headphones.
"Nope," I sighed. "What I said was clearly not important."

Apparently, after Macy kept being pressured by Carter to go to the try-outs, she finally decided to go, and dragged me along with her. ***Hopefully, she doesn't try her best so she isn't at least being considered of being on the team. I don't need Tess around anyone I associate with.
"Good luck Tess, I'll be waiting in the stands." I didn't think that there would be so many girls here for try-outs. Half the school fears Tess, and the other half haven't seen her, mainly because she's really short. But there was one seat left in the stands, and I guess it was better than no seat at all.
"Excuse me, is this seat taken?" I asked a guy in a hoodie, and shades. "Jack? You're here for try-outs?" Turns out, it was Jack.
"Oh no, not at all, I'm just here to support Tess and the team." He said, as we were both being approached by Tess. "And speaking of the devil..." Jack said under his breath.
"Hey, lunatic, if you're trying out, you must be over there." She said rolling her eyes at me. "Anyways, babe, I'll see you later. You can come over if you want." She said trying to kiss him on her tippy toes.
"What?" Jack asked confused.
"You said you were leaving early, remember?"
"Oh yeah, but I decided to stay longer," He said looking at me smiling, then looking back at Tess the minute I caught him looking at me. "What kind of boyfriend would I be of I left my girlfriend right before tryouts?" He said, then kissing Tess.
"Awe, see that Madison, you're not the only one with a good boyfriend." She said walking away.
"So, what changed your mind?" I said sitting down on the bleachers.
"I don't know, something in my head told me to stay." He said, sitting down next to me.
We watch as girl by girl, was told to leave and never return, with a hurtful insult right afterwards.
"Sorry Stacey, maybe if you watch your weight and lay off the McDonalds, you'll be considered for next year's try-outs. Next!" Tess said, marking off Stacey from her checklist. "Okay, next is Macy Woods."
Even the way she said Macy's name was fearful, but it was her turn, and though I don't like her that much, he had my full support, and if Tess was to say anything about her, my fist was ready to aim. But surprisingly, Macy was really good, who knew she had the flexibility, the coordination, and the skills. Everyone was cheering and clapping. Macy was doing so well, she could take Tess's position if she wanted to.
"That's your friend up there?" Jack asked.
"Yeah, that's Carter's girlfriend. I'm just here to support."
"Well she's doing really good, maybe you should audition as well."
"Nah. Cheerleading's not my thing." I said watching back to Macy's performance.
"Awe, well that's too bad. You would've made a great cheerleader." He said smiling a bit too hard. Ignoring the fact that Jack was probably hitting on me, I had other problems than Tess and her cheerleading team, like the fact that my mom's probably still wondering around my house.
"Macy, you were pretty good." Tess said clapping, but with a blank face, probably was confused with jealousy.
"Thanks, plus, it wasn't even rehearsed, that was just me winging it." Macy said, showing us her obnoxious and cocky side.
"Well you were really good Macy, I'm Jack. Your friend Madison is one pretty cool girl." Jack said introducing himself, though I was expecting him to say something nice about her try-outs, not about her friend, who was me.
"Thanks I guess." Macy said confused.
"Well, congratulations Woods, you're on the team, be here tomorrow straight after school, we have a lot of ground to cover." she said walking away, pulling Jack away. Sooner or later, he won't have an arm at all.

"Hey babe, what was with you today?" I asked while he was painting the new coat on my toenails.
"What do you mean babe?" He said, focusing on my nails.
"You looked like you were all over Madison, and her friend, and you said you had to leave early, but you decided to stay right when they walk in?"
"I told you my errands were cleared up. You're my girlfriend. Not her. Would I be painting Madison's toenails, even though there's nothing I hate more than feet." He said, beginning to realize what he said and pushing my foot away, sticking his tongue out in disgust.
"I guess not. I love you babe."
"Right back at cha."

~Author's Note
Who believes Jack when he tells Tess he loves her? 👀
Cameron is more arrogant in this fanfiction than in my first one. I know he's nothing like this in real life, but it's only fiction.
Thanks to whoever had been reading, it means a lot. Though I know my chapters are short.
Question Number Two: Who is your favorite historical, dead figure? For me, it'd be Rosa Parks, Michael Jackson, and Cory Monteith. R.I.P Cory, we miss you. ♡♡♡
