Prelude: A Story To Be Told

Hello everyone. This is Mlp fan Celine bringing op a new story.

This story has been on my mind for quite a while now. In fact, I got this idea a few months ago. It all started with a dream that I had. A very heavily detailed dream where I saw the different perspectives of Link and Zelda. It was also my first Legend of Zelda dream ever, and I loved the idea so much, that I needed to write down everything that I remembered ones I awoke from the dream. So, I did.

I have been toying with ideas for this story for a very long time (almost every day at least ones) and ideas keeps coming. I haven't planned out a lot, as I am a person that goes along with what my mind comes op now, so updates won't be frequent. But a few scenes are planned out in my mind, so as soon as they come up, I probably won't have so many problems (writing wise).

This story is inspired by a lot of things, and I am going to try and write my inspiration for certain scenes in the authors notes. All I can say is, that a lot of music and other stories have inspired me to do my own story.

Multi chapters stories were always a pain for me to keep them updated, but I am going to try my best. I would just need your help a little to motivate me. Also, this story is not beta read and I have dyslexia plus English is my third language, so if some mistakes do come op, it's because of those problems. Know that I try my best in editing and writing to get better.

For anyone wondering, this is a TP Zelink story with a lot of Romance, Drama and Hurt/comfort, so get ready for that. Don't like the ship, don't read it.

Alright and without further ado, let's get started.

PS: I don't own the characters of this story except for the OC Characters. All the others belong to Nintendo

The sun was slowly but surely going down behind Death Mountain. The birds were starting to get quieter and quieter, till no sound came as they sub-come into sleep. Twilight befell the land of Hyrule. The time that put an end to the day. In villages, kids were brushing their teeth and got put to bed by their parents. Couples were seen walking hand by hand in the side streets, as they, too, started to retire for the upcoming night. The music grew quieter as well as chatting folks around villages and towns. Pretty soon, night befell the land, and everyone was getting ready, to sub-come into the land of dreams. Well, almost everyone...

Laughter could be heard in the castle halls. Servants, who were getting the castle ready for the night, were all looking at each other with small smiles and smirks. It seams that the little princess wanted to stay op late again and play with her parents. Oh, how much livelier the castle became with a small child running around again.

Since the birth of the little princess, the servants and maids spent a lot of their time running around the castle, as their little princess loved to cause trouble. As soon as she learnt how to walk, the world opened op for her. Gone was the little princess as soon as you turned your back on her for just a few seconds. They had their hands full to keep her in place. Well, not as much as her parents. They got their hands full 24/7. But they loved their daughter and didn't mind even a bit. Considering the little princess's origin, it was no wonder.

The door opened slightly in the Grand Hall as a small face poked in and looked around her surroundings. A smile stretched on her face as she saw that the coast was clear. With giggles and glee, her small feet brought her to the big dinning table in the middle of the room. Slowly lifting the cloth, the small girl went under the table in hiding, trying desperately to close her mouth with her hands as her giggles increased.

After a few minutes of quietness, the door, in which the girl came in, opened op again. This time, a man's face poked in and looked around. After seeing no one, he too entered the Grand Hall. The man's Ocean blue eyes sharpened as they looked around the room. His ears staying upright, trying to gather every sound. His nose sniffing the air for a precise smell. His lips in a smirk. His green tunic with golden Armor pieces, together with a crown adorning an emerald, green stone on his head, showed his position in the castle.

The prince consort let his feet walk into the room with haste. His smirk growing with each step. It looked like that the little princess wanted to play a round of hide and seek. Again, may he add. After all, it's not the first time that the princess used this game as a tactic to not go to bed. It's a game that she and the prince, her father, played quite often. A game, that he normally doesn't mind. But normally, the queen, the princess's mother, would be playing along. Something she right now, in her condition, can't as much as before. So, while they started together, the queen needed to retire earlier as she couldn't keep op anymore. He wanted her to rest op while he continued searching their daughter.

And here they now are. His smirk not leaving his lips as he walked to the dinning table, were her smell intensified under it. Right in front of her, he stopped. His ears could hear her holding in her laughter. With playfulness in his voice, and the ever-growing smirk on his lips, he stated: "Hmm. Where could she possible be? I have been searching for her quite a while now and don't know where else to look". He could hear her giggles and laughter growing louder. Holding in his own giggles, he continued: "I guess she didn't hide in here" and walked a bit away from the table.

Now the princess couldn't hold in her giggles anymore. Growing louder and louder, the prince couldn't help but laugh along. With smoothness, he walked back to the table, held the cloth in his hand and lifted it all the way up while poking his head under the table. "Found you" he exclaimed, as he smiled down. The little princess let out a small squeal before running out from the table and into the outstretched arms of her father. Hugging her tightly, the prince couldn't help but cuddle his head with hers. They portrait a picture book father and daughter quite well. You could feel the bond these two shared together. Laughter filled the halls from both of them. Even the servants, who walked past the Grand Hall, couldn't help but let out a smile.

The cuddle session between father and daughter came to a halt as the small princess looked up to her father's eyes. "I love you daddy" she said in a light voice that always reminded the prince about his wife. His daughter was a perfect mix between himself and his wife. She has her mother's sapphire-blue eyes, a mix between his blond and his wife's brown hair, his personality and his wife's posture. And here he was hoping that their daughter would take after her mother. What a faraway wish that was, but he loves her all the same. "Love you too my little sunshine" he exclaimed while giving her kisses overall on her face. She let out more squeals and giggles and he started to laugh.

"Excuse me ... I don't want to interop this beautiful scene, but we would like to clean the Grand Hall now for Tomorrow's feast if you won't mind your highness". The prince's laughter died down a bit as he spooned around, facing a servant that was smiling up to him. Behind the servant, others waited with cleaning materials and brooms, all were smiling at the father and daughter moment that was in front of them. The prince gave out a small smile himself. "Of course," and together with his daughter still in his arms, left the Grand Hall. The small princess waved at each servant they were passing, with them returning it.

Outside the Grand Hall, the prince made his way to the royal quarters. The princess in his arms quite for ones. Still cuddling, the prince looked down at her with a smile only a proud and happy father could give. He often wondered how he got this lucky. First falling in love with his wife, then being gifted with his daughter. "To think all of this even happened before our wedding" the prince thought, withholding a laugh that was building op. "Of course, it all happened quite suddenly and without warning on a dark time" another thought voiced up. His smile slowly leaving his face.

To think that he got gifted with his daughter because his wife was desperate and fearful that they wouldn't get another chance. Of course, a kid was never planned. Not at that time at least. Especially as he and his wife were running for their lives. Away from the danger, at least for three days. His wife had a vision on the first night. A vision with something bad happening. Fearful of what could happen, she declared her feelings, her love, to him and wanted to be his. With the fear of losing each other, she wanted to show him how much she loved him. Things happened on the second night, neither knowing that that night ended with a product of their love. After all, all it takes is one time. One night.

He could not imagine what she most have gone through after that night. He didn't want to imagine it. What matters now is that it's in the past, and nothing like that will ever happen to his family again. He will make sure of that. His daughter will never have to be in such a dangerous situation. Ever. But now that he thinks about it ... maybe this could be a good bedtime story for his daughter. Though not so detailed with all the gross things. She doesn't need to know how babies are made or how the bad people got killed. But everything else? She does like adventure stories with a bit of drama and romance ...

While the prince was thinking about this, they arrived at the door of the princess's room. Said princess was starting to move around, trying to get down from his arms. With him not reacting, the princess pouted and looked op at him. "Daaaaddddyyy I want to get down". Her voice brought the prince back to the present. Shaking his head, he looked down at her with a sorry smile. "Sorry sweetheart. Daddy was thinking about something".

When he put her down, the little princess looked excided suddenly. "Thinking about what" she asked him with hopeful eyes. Again, the prince had to shake his head while chuckling. "I was thinking about a possible bedtime story, but only if you can, and will behave to miss Lara" said the prince with a bit of a smirk. "Okay" the little princess said excitedly and open the door to her room.

On the other side of the door, there stood a maiden right beside the little princess's bed. She looked op as soon as she heard the door opening and gave the newcomers a smile. "Well, it's about time you two showed up. I was already wondering if I should go out and look for you both" voiced the maiden when the prince and his daughter came closer. "Sorry Lara. Zelly here wanted to play hide and seek again, and it took a little while for me to find her. Zelda needed a break, so I was the only one searching for Zelly. Sorry again" the prince said with an apologetic and sorry smile.

Lara waved a hand at that. "I was only teasing Link. I saw Zelda come up a bit before, so I had a feeling that only you were searching for little miss Zelly here. Speaking of her. Come now, Zelly. Time to brush your teeth and get dressed for the night". Lara took Zelly's outstretched hand in her own and went with her to the bathroom in the back of the room.

Link let out a small sigh and turned around to look out of the window. The sun was now completely gone. In its place was the big, bright moon that shone down on the land. Stars were twinkling through the night sky. He let out a smile. It looked like it was going to be a beautiful and peaceful night today. Perfect to tell the story to Zelly.

Speaking of the devil, Zelly and Lara came out of the room. Zelly was now in her pink nightgown, her hair laying lose on her back and her small crown off her head. "Daddy" she yelled and ran op to him, right into his outstretched arms. Link spun around while cuddling her and letting lose a small chuckle.

"Hey princess. Well, are you all comfy and ready for bed"? he asked while letting her back down. Zelly nodded her head and ran to her bed. "I am. But I want to hear the story you were thinking about, daddy" she pouted while going on her big bed with a bit of difficulty. Link chuckled and shook his head, looking at Lara with an expecting look. Lara in return chuckled too and said: "She was an angel" went to Zelly, bit her a goodnight, and left the room quietly.

Zelly looked at her father with expectancy. "Please daddy. I was good, I promise" she said with a pleading look. Link had to hold back a laugh at the face Zelly was making. "Oh, she definitely got that from you, Zelda" he thought while smiling and went to his daughter's bed, with said daughter on it and under the covers.

Sitting down and getting comfortable, he smirked at Zelly and in one smooth motion, crabbed her tickle spots and tickled her, with Zelly laughing uncontrollably. "Stop ha ha tickles". Link too let out a big laugh and let this moment wash over them. This was like a ritual between them. Link loves to hear his daughter's laugh, just like he loves his wife's laugh. Nothing could ever match those sounds. Well, except for maybe two ... but he doesn't want to think of one of them now. Not with his daughter around.

Giving her mercy, he stopped tickling Zelly and went back on his comfortable position on her bed while trying to stop his own laughter. Calming down, he stretched his arms out again as an invitation for Zelly to come closer and cuddled up to him. She did and made herself comfortable. After she stopped her movements, she looked up to him. "Now daddy. Please start the story".

Link let out a small chuckle. "Okay my princess. I shall begin". He looked down towards her with a proud smile. She too, looked up towards him and returned his smile. "Where to begin" he asked himself, until his eyes brightened up. "Okay Zelly. This story that I am about to tell you, is the story how I and your mother, confessed or love, and where an evil prince tried to take over or home". Zelly let out a small gasp. With a twinkle in Link's eyes, he started to tell. "It all happened 6 years ago" ...

Well, what do you guys think? Let me know in the comments. This is only a prelude, and the next chapters just clears a little op what happened after the twilight invasion and the building relationship between Link and Zelda. Also, to get to know a few important characters. We will see what my mind comes up with, but I do have a few ideas on what to do...

A little sidenote, I am thinking of maybe, just maybe, start on a soundtrack for this story. They won't be long songs, but either small themes songs for characters or scenarios. I write ones they are done but look forward for that.

Also, I don't really have a cover picture for this story. I found the one I have on google but I don't like using arts that's not from myself (The Lost Memory has also an art cover that's not mine so if someone could help me out for both stories, I would be grateful).

Sorry for the long author's notes but I wanted this to be said. So yeah. See you next time and I wish you all a happy and awesome day or night whenever you should read this.
