Valt and Shu arrived at the Aoi residence just as storm clouds began to form in the night sky. Light crackles of thunder could be heard from the far off distance.

The two males had agreed earlier, when they first heard of the thunder storm, to have a little sleepover. The goal of the sleepover was to help Valt drown out any last shocks from the events of earlier.

A news cast had shown up at the scene and reported on the incident by the time night had fallen. So the entire city could know of what had happened.

The smell of chocolate danced in the air when Valt opened the front door to his home. It smelt almost too good!

"Mmm, chocolate! You thinking what I'm thinking?"

The taller blader nodded in agreement. It had been awhile since he last had chocolate and he honestly missed the taste of the sweet. Plus everyone knew that eating something you don't normal eat on a regular basis would always 10 times better!

The Two bladers quickly took off their shoes before heading towards the kitchen.

Inside the kitchen was Nika, Toka, and Chiharu - their mother. The three were gathered around a tray of freshly backed chocolate chip cookies!

"Those look so good you guys! Hope you don't mind if I have one."

Before anyone could act, the blunette dashed forward, grabbing one of the cookies. To his surprise the cookie was way hotter than they normally are. The cookie fell out of his hand as he jumped back in pain.

"Valt!" Everyone in the room cried in unison.

The twins burst out in laughter as they watched their mother help Valt's burned hand all the while scolding him on manners and kitchen saftey.

Shu on the other hand remained in the same spot he had been. Watching his friend continuously getting hurt all day was really starting to irritate him. Would it really kill the boy to be more careful for once?

"Just wait until I call you back in okay?" Mrs. Aoi pleaded. Her head was still spinning from learning about what happened on the news.

"But mo-"

"I'll be sure to keep him entertained until your call Mrs. Aoi." Shu butted in before Valt could finish. The latters arms were folded across his chest, eyes beckoning the shorter to go along without saying more.

"Thank you Shu, we're sure lucky to have you around to keep our Valt out of trouble."

Nika whispered something to her brothers. Whatever she said caused her twin to burst out in laughter but caused her older brother to stomp his feet in annoyance with a small blush dusting his face.

With a grunt Valt turned on his heels and made his way out of the kitchen with Shu following close behind.

"What do you think we should do? We could watch movies on my laptop or play with of my some old card games." Valt smiled. He was already at the top of the stairway of his home, running to his room with excitement.

Since it was already dark outside and the thundering appeared to be getting closer the option for beyblading outside was ruled out. But either way beyblading so soon after what had happened earlier wouldn't be a wise thing to do. It could cause the blunette to go into panic again.

As Shu entered his friends bedroom he looked around. The room hadn't changed since his last visit. Small space, single desk with a laptop, and a bed where Valt was eagerly sitting on.

Glancing to the laptop once more, an idea came to mind.

"Why don't we watch that movie about those little monsters and trainers you were telling me about the other day?"

Valt practically threw himself to his desk at hearing the mention of the movie.

"Alright! You can sit on my bed if you want while we watch it. The movie's only an hour and fifteen minutes so make sure you get comfortable cause we're going to be here for awhile."

Within seconds Valt had the movie playing on his laptop. To make the movie watching more eventful, Valt quickly rushed around his room to turn off the lights before joining Shu on the bed.

"You better not fall asleep while we're watching or else we'll just rewatch it in the morning."

All Shu could do was smirk since the movie had begun.

Through the entire movie, Shu couldn't help but feel oddly connected to it. It was childish to think but the characters reminded him of Valt and himself. The only differences was the universes they lived in.

The movie characters lived in a world filled with these strange creatures called Pokémon. While Shu lived in a world filled with beyblade.

The movie soon came to a stop, causing the room to become engulfed in darkness.

"Pretty cool wasn't it? Valt smiled.

Even though the lights were off the blunette could still see some due to the dim black light on his laptop.

"Weird how mom didn't call us back down though."

When Valt moved off the bed to turn on the lights he noticed an ominous looking object on the ground by his closed door. What finally drove him over was the fact that lights weren't turning on and the sudden downpour of rain outside his window.

"That's strange..." The ominous object turned out to be a tray of cookies, only able to be identified by the bright light of the laptop screen.

"Look Shu I think my mom brought these up while we were watching the movie! Want some?"

Shu shook his head lightly. Eating sweets so late at night would surely cause bad dreams and or insomnia.

"Maybe in the morning. It's too late to eat them now... Are the lights not working?"

Looking at the time on the laptop, Valt jumped a bit. 11:39. How had time flown by so quickly? Anyway it didn't matter, anytime was cookie time!

Valt stuffed a few cookies in his mouth, shaking his head to the side.

"No, I think the power went off. But don't worry I'm sure it'll come back on in the morning. For now we should get some sleep. You can sleep with me on my bed, like when we were younger, if you want to. Or I can sleep on the floor and you get my bed all to yourself."

The matter on who sleeps were hadn't even crossed the red eyed blader until now. He had to amit that sleeping with Valt did sound weird now that they were older but he couldn't just let his friend, his best friend, sleep on the cold floor. What kind of person would do that to their best friend after the rough day they had gone though?

Taking a deep breath, Shu pushed some hair back, but left a decent portion to still cover his scar.

"I guess I could join you on the bed for the night. Just please try not to kick me or anything."

Valt smiled once more before he set the try of cookies on his desk along with Valtryek. He then turned around to see Shu already tucked in under the covers of his bed.

"Hey! Who said you could go to sleep first!" Valt yawned. He slowly walked over to his bed, removing his vest before laying down.

Warm hands reached up, taking off his yellow beaded headband, catching him by surprise. Returning the favor, Valt removed the black tie around Shu's neck before giving one final smile to his friend.

"G'night Shu."

"Night Valt."

The two bladers smiled to one another through tired eyes before drifted off soundly into sleep with the sound of rain beating down outside. Little did they know that their night wouldn't be so peaceful for much longer.
