Everything was pitch black when he opened his eyes.

Where was he? The last thing he remembered was going to sleep with a certain blue haired blader.

He looked to his side, nothing, then he looked down at his hands.

Still nothing in his vision but darkness.

He reached out to his side and gave a call.

"Valt?... You there?"

The only reply he got was the sound of a door opening and closing in the distance.

He tried calling out again, this time sounding a bit more urgent.

"Valt?"

Nothing...

Giving an annoyed sigh, stood up, turning to walk where he had heard the sound of the door.

But as soon as he took a step a strong wind blew at him, keeping him in place.

"Hello, Shu."

He turned on his heels to look at whoever had spoken and was greeted with a powerful red aura.

The aura slowly dispersed itself as soon as Shu looked at it.

When the red aura was no more than a faint glow, a person started to fill itself inside the aura.

The person appeared to be a doppelganger of Shu!

They wore a black mask that hid their features- except for their mouth. They also wore a black body suit and a long flowing white jacket with red accents.

Taking a small step towards the doppelganger, Shu narrowed his eyes.

The person before him smirked, crossing their arms over their chest.

"No need to put your guard up. We are one in the same after all."

Shu raised an eyebrow at what the other said and shook his head.

"I don't think it's very likely for me do so at the moment... Not when this dream is going on at least."

The doppelganger snickered and took a step forward. The red aura around him beginning to flare up once more.

Suddenly the world around the two felt as if it were fading away, signally that Shu was waking up in the real world.

The doppelganger didn't seem the least bit worried as he reached for something in his belt. When he found what he was looking for he raised it up to eye level.

"You think waking up will make me disappear just like that? Don't worry, I'll be here waiting for you the next time you fall asleep. You'll soon see that you can't fend me off as easily as this- and that your precious Valt won't always be around. And when you do-"

Scarlet eyes snapped open to a dimly litted room.

He was back in Valt's bedroom.

Looking down to where Valt lay, curled into Shu's chest with his face nestled in his neck, Shu let out a sigh.

I know it was just a dream but... Man am I so glad to know that you're safe here in my arms... Even so- what did he mean by he'll be waiting for me when-

Shu pulled Valt closer, sighing in content as Valt unconsciously nuzzled closer to him.

Whatever, it was only a dream.

When morning came Valt made it his top priority to check on Shu before doing anything else.

The two spent half an hour taking care of each other- mostly it was Valt fussing over Shu the whole time...

The Valtryek blader constantly asking if anything hurt or asking if there were any problems with his throat.

After Shu made it crystal clear that he was back to feeling like his usual self the two left to the kitchen.

Freshly baked bread sat neatly stacked on the kitchen table when the two arrived.

The bread was designed to look like Spryzen and Valtryek! Every detail of their beys were perfectly made into the bread.

At first the two stood at the doorway, staring in awe, then they snapped out of their trance and made their way to the table.

Picking up a Spryzen shaped bread, Valt smiled. "Looks like mom made us some special bey bread!"

Shu smiled softly and took a Valtryek bread, examining it closely.

The bey bread looked almost too good to eat! Just about every detail from their beys were either carved or popping from the bread. It was a work of art.

"Glad to see you two awake. I was starting to worry you two had stayed up late and were sleeping in." Mrs. Aoi mused as she entered the kitchen with some dough in hand. Her cheerful attitude snapped the Spryzen blader from his thoughts.

"Morning to you too! Nah, we've been up for a while now, just finally got hungry is all."

Taking a bite of his bey bread, Valt grabbed a hold of Shu's gloved hand.

"Shu's feeling much better so we're going to the grass bank for a little."

The silvery white haired male suppressed a smile as he felt Valt's hand tighten around his. Already knowing the bluenette was going to drag him out the house.

"Hold on for just a second you two. I have something to say to you both." Mrs. Aoi frowned as she set the dough on the table.

All movement in the room ceased as Mrs. Aoi took a deep breath. Something big was about to happen for sure!

"You better not overwork yourselves while your gone! I expect you to both take breaks between your training. I think we all know the real reason your going out is to make Shu battle you and Valtryek again, Valt."

Shaking his head vigorously, Valt inched to the back door, pulling Shu along with him.

"You got me, me! I promise we'll take breaks and all that good stuff. See you later!"

With having said that Valt raced out of his home, with Shu close behind him.

He let out a laugh at how oblivious his mom had been. He had no doubt that she was going to bring up the hand holding! But then again he shouldn't be the one laughing- He had been oblivious himself for weeks when Shu had been sending him loving vibes.

The two bladers soon made it to the grass bank where Valt laid down on the sunniest patch of grass, dragging Shu to lay next to him.

They laid in silence for what felt like hours before the Spryzen blader spoke up.

"Thank you, for everything you've done for me."

Glancing to the bluenette, Shu smiled.

It was the most sincere smile the Valtryek blader had ever seen on the Spryzen blader! He felt as though his heart might stop!

"You're like brightest star in the night sky, you make everyone around you smile. You make me feel wanted..."

The bluenette burried his hands into his face, trying to hide the blush that now spread across his entire face.

"Why do you have to be so amazing at everything you do!"

Shu chuckled and reached over to remove the hands that covered his boyfriends adorable face.

Chocolate orbs stared into scarlet.

It felt like time had stopped for a moment as the two unknowingly shifted closed, turning to fully face the other. Their foreheads touched and their hands found each other to create a small barrier in front of their chests.

"You're just as amazing, Valt. You just might be the most outstanding person in this entire world."

Shu lifted Valt's hands to his lips, giving them a light kiss. He then leaned forward to place a kiss to his nose.

For a brief moment the doppelgangers words range in his mind.

"You won't always have your precious Valt around."

But he shook the voice away and took in the way Valt was staring at him.

Loving eyes, the warmest smile, his whole expression screaming I love you!

Closing his eyes, Shu smiled.

"I'll always be here for you, Valt."

"And I'll always be here for you too, Shu."
