Chapter 6

Ah yes, one of the major reasons I came to the Phantomhive manor. I wanted to see and check on Ceil, yes, but my father was starting to overwhelm me with the talk of the suitors that wanted me to be their finacé. Family ties, money, statuses and more where the only thing my dad would rate a suitor on.
I said I wanted to fall in love and marry the right person, but he had none of that. Let's just say the skin on the back of his hand met my cheek quite quickly and harshly.
"Young lady! I will not permit your voice in this act. Be a proper lady and do as we say!" He yells at me after slapping me. After my mother died, my father was very nice to others, but was harsh on me. Probably because I reminded him of mother. He pointed a finger on the door." Go to your chambers" he ordered. I stood up and stiffly walked out the door.
But I did better. I packed my cases, called Corrin, left a note, and left saying I'd be back some time. As I shivered at the thought of my fathers reaction, I snapped back to the present. I groaned. To look for someone with a high status? Who? Earls?Lords?Princes? Anyone of those would do. Hell, even Alios Trancy would be an option. I would say Ceil, but he's already betrothed. But I have standards. No play boys, for example, i hear Lord Druitt is a lady's man. Off the options list.
I finished my tea before it ran cold, and it soon became dimmer outside. A carriage pulled up the drive. I was so lost in thought, I didn't even realize Finny somehow got what seemed to be sand on the fine grass of the front yard and raked through it with a rake, turning it into a Japanese stone garden. A large man stepped out of the carriage. Sebastian was already waiting for him.
I watched closely as the man lead by Sebastian entered, and marveled at everything. I put my empty tea cup and saucer back onto the platter and went to take it down to the kitchen. As I walked down the hall, I heard the footsteps of the two men coming up the stairs. I briefly passed Sebastian and the Italian man. The man peered at me, suddenly interested. I turned a corner and disappeared from sight.
I trotted down to the kitchen and placed the silver platter into the sink.
I picked up a sponge and started doing the dishes. I rinsed them off with lukewarm water then using a clean dry rag, dried them off. I looked through the cupboards until I placed the China in the right areas. I smile as I finish, and decide to go into the garden for a bit.
But as I leave kitchen, I hear someone call. "Mei"
