Chapter 3
Oh dear god, please help me. I'm dying of humiliation. It's been 8-0 so far. I can't beat him, I just cant! This was the last round. We made a pact to give the winner a prize of their choice, and the winner is very obvious. But it's not done. Not till the last word..."checkmate" Ceil declares, placing his queen down, and trapping my king. I sigh. I look up at him. "So what would you like as a prize?" He smirks. "Tell me about that secret you were hiding from me in the garden" he explains. I blink. I couldn't, it was not to be done. I got up. I brushed out the wrinkles of my dress, "I'm sorry, Ceil, but I cannot tell you that. I need to stretch out my legs anyway, we've been sitting forever". During the games, I was saying nonsense, and I feared he was getting bored, which he probably already was from the very beginning. I tired to avoid giving him the chance into pressuring me into giving him the secret. "Wait" he grabbed my hand. We both stop. I could hear the mansions doors opening. And a voice rang out. "Oh, it's wonderful to see you Sebastian~!". Ceil muttered under his breath, and hurried me out of the room. Then he opened my rooms door, and pushed me in.
"Whatever you do, don't come downstairs, or outside this room" he orders. I nod, crossing my fingers behind my back. He leaves and closes the door. I heard footsteps, when the voice rang out again.
"Ceil~! What on earth took you this long?" I was itching to find out who this was. I checked my dress in a mirror. I looked presentable. I quietly opened and closed the door, and tip toes down the hall.
I peeked the corner, we're if you turn, you see the grand stair case. I saw a boy with platinum blond hair,a long, plum purple frock coat,a forest green vest with black stripes and a black back,a white button-up shirt, black shorts or black trousers, long black stockings, brown high heel boots with purple laces, and a charcoal ribbon tied around his neck. I couldn't see his face though.
He turns around after hugging Ceil. He notices me peeking from the corner.
He starts walking up the stairs, I was too entranced by his ice blue eyes. He stood a foot from me. "Ceil, you never told me you had a new maid" he remarks. "That's not a maid, she is a dear childhood friend" he explains. I step from the corner, showing him I'm wearing not a maid dress, but a Countesses dress.
"I am Mei Casnino. Daughter of Lord Casnino, owner of all the Casnino hotels and hospitals, and jewelry shops around the world" I introduce myself.
"So your the famous daughter of the third most richest man on the earth?" He asks. I nod. "Well" he comes closer."it's nice to meet you, Lady Mei" he greets me, he takes my hand and places a small kiss on it. I blush, and give a curt curtsy.
"Now then!" He starts, grabbing my wrist. "Let us get to know each other better" he leads me down the stairs, and sits me on a couch, sitting next to me. Ceil is sitting opposite to us, Sebastian behind him, and a tall man with golden eyes, I presumed to be his butler, was staring at me. "Um, and you are?" I realize I didn't even know his name.
"How rude of me! I'm Alois Trancy, head of the Tracy manor, and my butler, Claude" he introduces himself. I nod. Ceil was giving me the I-thought-I-told-you-not-to-come-look. I let out a small yawn.
Sebastian and Claude tense up. I wonder why. I was half listening to Alois blabber on. Both butlers stared at me intently, as if waiting for me to do something.
The front doors burst open. A happy, blond girl with green eyes in a pink gown skipped in. Elizabeth Ethel Cordelia Midford walked came in she saw me first, then narrowed her eyes. I did the same.
"Mei Teresa Victoria Casnino" she growled. I stood up. "Elizabeth Ethel Cordelia Midford" I growled back. We had a battle of the deadliest stares. This is going to be a long day.
