Chapter 2
I blushed turning my entire face red. What can I say? I'm a teenager. I should be blushing for even being here. Am I stupid?
I was rummaging through the trunk when a familiar woman's voice spoke through the door."hello? Miss Mei? It's me, Corrin" she called. Corrin was nice. She looked young for her age.
I didn't like having an maid, but my father made me have at least one. "Come in" I called back. The woman opened the door and closed it behind her.
She had tucked her brown hair in a bun, and was wearing a black and white maids dress. I looked back at the trunk and pulled out a evergreen dress.
I showed it to Corrin. She nodded and opened another trunk and instantly pulled out a pair of shoes and jewelry. This woman knew me like the back of her hand.
Then came the hard part. I slipped off my dress and had only my undergarments and the white corset. It had slightly loosened, so she came over.
Corrin grabbed both strings and pulled. I gave a small gasp. My stomach was literally pushed in. With her help I pulled on the dress, and wore the shoes. She clipped the necklace while I wore my earrings.
I slipped on a small gold ring. I pulled out my brush and started on my hair.
I opened the messy bun and turned it into golden waterfall. I loved my hair. It reminded me of my mother who died when I was 4 years old.
She used to sing lullabies and play the flute, piano,or harp. I always looked up to her. But strangely, I never had a single memory, or a photo of before I was 4.
As soon as I fixed my hair into a proper bun with a few strands loose, I got up to go down to breakfast. Corrin insisted on making my bed before she came down. I let her do as she pleased.
I walked down hallways, and down the stairs, taking in and remembering each detail of the mansion. I frowned slightly as Ceil seemed to have taken down the portrait.
"You look better when you smile, Lady Mei" I heard someone say. I turned around to see Sebastian standing there with a smile. "And good morning, let me show you to the dining hall" he greeted.
"And to you. Also, please call me Mei. Lady is too formal" I told him. He nodded, and I followed him to the dining hall every through I've already been there.
Ceil was sitting at on end of the long table. I sat down on the seat that Sebastian opens for me. He pushed in the chair, and laid my breakfast infront of me.
"I hope this is to your liking" he hoped. I gave a sweet smile."anything tastes good on this table" I commented. I looked at Ceil.
As the head of Phantomhive, he was only 15. It must be hard. But I couldn't help and notice his blue suit and trousers/short pants, or, from what your time would look at it like, shorts, with brown shoes, and his eyepatch. Only if I could see what's with that...
"What?" Ceil asked, annoyed. I soon realized I was staring at him. "N-nothing!" I slightly yelled, looking down. I quickly finished the meal, it was honestly amazing.
I drank my tea exceptionally fast. I stood. "Thank you for the meal" I said, before heading for the front door. "Where are you going?" Ceil asks. I look back.
"Outside". His eyebrows slightly furrowed in confusion, and...anger? "I'm only taking a small walk, then I'll be back so we can catch up" I reasoned. He frowned, but nodded.
I walked out the door. I loved the garden. They held so many memories. I saw a small vision of me Elizabeth, and Ceil running around playing tag around the trees.
Madam Red, Countess Rachel, and Lord Vincent. We played London Bridge under the adults arms. I managed to skip through their arms, and Lizzy got through too.
Ceil got caught, and was lifted into a hug by Madam Red. The sound of children and adults laughter rang through the garden. I snapped back to reality.
Lizzy hated me. I was the same. We had a fight when we were little, and we never made up. The slightest tip off would start a fight.
I'm not stupid, I know Elizabeth has been training hard, and so have I. I know how to use a sword exceptionally well. A dagger was good with in my hands as well.
Elizabeth and I fought over one of the most embarrassing things ever. And I'm sure Lizzy has won. She did when they got engaged. I knew she would rub it in my face.
"The argument was about who, who Ceil-" I started to think out loud. "Who Ceil what?" Asked a voice behind me. I yelped and jumped. I turned to see Ceil standing there.
The sunlight glinted nicely off his navy blue black hair...wait, why am I thinking like that?! "W-when did you get here?" I ask. "Just when you started to speak quietly, now, answer my question" he orders.
"I can't tell you" I teased, waving a finger in his face. "Tell me!" He yells. It's always been like this. When Ceil found out that I have a secret, he wants to know it badly.
"Let me think about that...how about..no" I mocked and ran, because Ceil started chasing me around the yard. It wasn't that hard to run in a shin length dress. But the heels.
I looked back, to see Ceil catching up, I look forward, ready to run faster, when I slammed into a toned chest. I feel arms wrap around me.
"Are you alright, Lady Mei?" Said the raven haired butler. I nod and step back. Ceil comes to a halt. Sebastian leans over me, and checks me for bruises.
"Are you sure?" He asks."I-I'm fine, really" I blush and look down. He curls his finger around my chin and tips my face up. His crimson orbs peer into my blue ones. I took a small gulp. "Sebastian" says a stern voice. Sebastian just now realizes Ceil is there. And gave him a sly smirk. "Yes, Young Master?" He asks innocently. Ceil grabs my shoulder. "Stop that, and trim the roses to perfection" he orders. He simply nods, gives me a smile, and leaves for the gardens were house. "I apologize for my butlers actions to rudely flirt with our guests, come, let's play a few rounds of chess, my treat" he apologizes. I nod. I heard Ceil has never been beaten at chess. And I personally am terribly at it. This might be a bit interesting.
