When she regained consciousness, Aeri found herself lying on a creaky old bed in a dimly lit room. The air felt heavy, suffused with a strange energy that sent shivers down her spine. She sat up slowly, her head spinning with confusion.
"Where am I?" Aeri whispered, her voice barely audible in the eerie silence.
The room was adorned with faded wallpaper and dusty furniture, giving it a haunted aura.
Aeri's heart raced as she tried to piece together how she ended up in this mysterious place. Memories of getting lost in the forest and calling for help flooded her mind, but the details were hazy.
She shivered at the chill of the room seeping into her bones.
Cautiously, Aeri got up from the bed and walked towards the window, hoping to catch a glimpse of familiar surroundings. But all she saw was darkness outside, the moon hidden behind thick clouds.
Panic started to rise within her again as she realized she was alone in this strange house, with no idea how she got there or if anyone else was around.
"Hello? Is anyone there?" Aeri called out, her voice trembling.
But the only response was the echo of her own voice, haunting and hollow in the empty surroundings.
A sense of unease settled over Aeri as she explored the rest of the room.
Everything seemed frozen in time. Aeri couldn't shake off the feeling of unease.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing heart. The oppressive silence seemed to close in around her, amplifying every creak and whisper of the old structure. She needed to find a way out, to escape this nightmarish place and reunite with her friends.
Gathering her courage, she walked to the door and carefully turned the handle. It creaked open, revealing a dimly lit hallway amidst the darkness. She hesitated for a moment, listening for any signs of movement, but the place remained silent.
Step by step, she made her way down the hall, her senses on high alert, the floorboards creaking under her weight.
As she reached the end of the hallway, Aeri noticed a faint light coming from under a door. Curiosity took over her as she approached it cautiously, pressing her ear against the wood to listen. Hearing nothing, she slowly pushed the door open and peeked inside.
The room beyond was a small library, filled with dusty bookshelves and a single flickering candle on a desk. The sight of the books gave Aeri a strange sense of comfort, reminding her of the many hours she spent reading every single day.
Lured by the smell of the books, she stepped inside, closing the door behind her. The candlelight cast eerie shadows on the walls, but it was the most light she'd seen since waking up. She approached the desk and noticed an old, leather-bound book lying open. Curiosity got the better of her, and she leaned over to read the page.
The words were handwritten, and the ink had faded with age, she leaned in further to read the words written there but she wasn't able to. Just when she was about to pick up the book from the table, she heard the sound of the door creaked open, making her drop the book on the dusty wooden floor.
"Tch tch tch, it's not good wandering around a stranger's house and touching their things without permission." that voice startled her.
"Who're you?" That was the first thing that came to aeri's mind at the moment.
"The owner of the place you're currently standing in" the man dressed in all black with a mask covering his face, replied.
"Why am I here?" Aeri asked, backing away when she sensed him taking steps towards her.
When he was just a second away from her, he bent down picking up the old book that she had dropped earlier.
"Are you hungry?" He asked, now putting the book back in the bookshelf.
Aeri just stared at him whose eyes looked heavenly shining under the moonlight.
His eyes was the only feature that was visible to her as the rest of his face was covered with a mask.
"I've been told my eyes look unreal but I'd never thought I can hypnotize people with these" he chuckled, shaking his head.
This caught aeri off guard. She looked away from him, ashamed.
"I will be leaving now." Aeri stated, making her way towards the door.
"You surely can" he mumbled, sitting on the old desk chair.
Not knowing what else to say or do, she made her way back towards the corridors.
After minutes of passing through the creepy old corridors, she finally saw a door that looked like exit from far away.
Aeri's eyes lit up at the sight as she rushed towards the exit, only to halt at the mention of someone calling her from behind.
"Miss Park, I've something for you here"
She turned around, only to find him standing there with a key in his hands...
