Everyone has a purpose for walking up the stairs of this school, most are here right now because they want to study and become something better.

Over the summer, I lost track of what I wanted to become and the only reason why I'm standing on these stairs is because I have come to step on everyone with my Louis Vuitton heels.

I take in a deep breath and start walking up the stairs when my thoughts are interrupted by a male voice; I take another deep breath and pull on my happy face.

I turn slowly to give myself time to show off that dazzling look I've been perfecting over the summer with the flip of my red hair, a flirty smile playing on my cherry lips making the freckles on my nose dance, and allowing the blue in my eyes shine brighter

"Wow" he says and I take the moment to scan his profile before letting out an involuntary scoff at his appearance, I didn't need this one to be the first person to set eyes on me.
I flip my hair once more letting my impatience show, "I just saw you walk by the corner and I thought I'd just come and say hi" he says shyly.

I let out another scoff but this time louder than the earlier one, "You seem new here" I begin

"I've been here since middle school" he says.

"Uhh, I'm so sorry, I don't remember, have we met before?" I ask and make sure he notices me giving him the one over again, "If we haven't then it just proves how irrrelevant you have been so far" I say and give him a cold look, "a word of advice, follow the status quo and you will be just fine"

I begin to walk away but stop and turn around slightly, "cool jacket by the way" I say with my tongue in my cheek and watch as his face lights up before continuing up the stairs.

I spot one of my best friends who is standing by the elevator and is engrossed with her phone, I sneak behind her and let out a loud squeal which causes her to jump, let out a squeak and then drop her phone.

"Shantele" I beam and she holds her chest for a while before she bends, picks her phone and then turns to face me.

"Girl, where in the world have you been" she says and gives me a warm hug, "I've missed you so much" she says and swats my rump

We enter the lift and get off on the third floor which is where our class is situated. We walk, basking in the attention we recieve from the normal crowd that usually gathers around us every time we enter the school.

We enter the class and I make my way to my seat where I notice all the flowers and gifts on my desk.

"Ha, it's a new term and the first day yet they've already started with the gifts already" Shantele says with a look of mock horror on her face. On her getting to her table she sees her own gifts "I spoke too soon".

"Yeah you did" I reply with the same look of mock horror on my face "lemme just pack all this up"

It was a norm to resume every new term and see stacks of gifts on my desk, cause I was one of the popular girls in the school, Shantele, Renae and I.

I'm almost done packing my gifts into a bag I always carry around because of things like this when I hear two words that can spoil my day and if not careful the whole term. The Queen.
"The queen has arrived guys" a male voice announced.

In the past I would have been happy or almost ecstatic at hearing those words but now am not so sure, not after all that I know now. Its moments like these that I truly believe that ignorance is bliss.
I stand up and start walking out the class through the back door of the class since she was making her glorious entrance through the front door.

I walk out of the class without even paying attention to the person who came in and begin angry walking towards my locker when I take a sharp corner and walk face first into a human wall. I slip because of the extra high heels I'm in but luckily strong arms catch me before I land on the floor and earn myself a sore bottom.

"Can you look where you're going next time?!" I snap icily and fix my most menacing glare unto my face. Then I look up and my breath is stuck in my throat.

"Are you okay?" He asks looking down at me with those heavenly blue eyes, wavy chestnut hair and dimples that further accentuates his perfectly polished teeth "Jossie?"

"Yeah?" I say, still lost in the details of his features like how strong his arms are to be able to hold me like that and how his usual peppermint breath is making my insides turn with glee

"Are you okay?" Shaking me a little he pulls me back to my feet "can you hear me, earth to Jossie"

With that I snap back to reality. Gosh why does he have that kind of effect on me all the time, "I'm fine Jordan" I say finally remembering to breathe "but I wouldn't have had to hit my head and almost fall if you had moved out of my way in time instead of making me bump into you"

He just chuckles and we start walking down the hallway, "Let me guess you were angry walking again because you heard the words the queen am I right?" He asks in more of a statement manner than a question while taking a long stare at me that makes me want to start blushing furiously. I only nod. "I don't really know what happened between you guys before the summer break but you're best friends, can't you just set your differences aside and try to make up, huh?"

"Its not as easy as that" I say stubbornly and cross my arms and then notice the now scrunched up flowers which I toss into bin, "and I'm not going to do the apologizing, she has to cause she started it" I continue in a whiney voice that I didn't want to use but still used unknowingly "it's just that I can't stand her anymore, the way she acts like she's the boss, when she's clearly not, only if you knew what she did"

He only stays silent and we keep walking till we reach the school hallway leading to the lockers

"Well no matter what, you guys are best friends and if not for that do it for your ol' pal me cause you know how much I like her" he says looking at me with pleading puppy dog eye.

I sigh for many reasons including the fact that he didnt even bother to ask what she did. Is he that blinded by her charms? I scoff and stalk off with him calling my name as I ignore him and use the second stairway to get back to my class.

Its lunch time and I'm already sitting at our table with Shantele by my left laughing at a joke that her boyfriend probably texted her while also attempting to snag some fries from my plate which is obviously proving futile as I swat her hand away all the time.

Someone calls my name and I turn to look at the person and lo and behold its Renae, "Jossie where have you been all day I've been looking for you"

"Oh, nowhere just hanging around" I say and manage a small smile and turn back to my fries.

"Jossie, you know I didn't mean to not hang out with you during the summer break, I just had a lot on my plate with the passing away of my aunt and all" she says posing a puppy dog face to me, which would have been cute before but not anymore "and besides I tried calling you during the break but you didn't pick up the phone"

I let a small smirk display on my lips from the pleasure I derived from ignoring her calls and text messages, "Alright, alright if you put it like that, I have no other choice than to forgive you" I say and give her a weak smile.

I begin to clench and unclench my fists under the table,I will ruin you, you little bitch and I will take back all you took from me. You must think that I dont know what you did to me, if that's so then you have a huge bomb waiting for you. Nobody steps on me, takes whats mine and expects to go scot free. Oh you are going to pay.

The end of the school day has come and I am walking home and I can tell the football game is over cause I can see people exiting our mini stadium, I was never one for football or any sporting activity.

I remember that I left something at school and I turn around to go get it back when I come face to face with a hot looking guy who I've never seen before and he's staring straight at me with beautiful green eyes and a red mass of wavy unkempt hair, I have to raise my head to get a good look at him because of his tall frame and build.

"Excuse me? Are you okay?" He asks studying me carefully

"Excuse me?" I ask before realizing who I am and where I am standing "Sorry, I totally zoned out" I say blushing furiously, which of course would seem like I am totally into him, in which am not. Lies! I totally find him hot but he's not me type.

I move to the side for him to pass, and he just walks away! Flustered and feeling irritated with myself for acting so foolish I decide not to pick what I forgot in school and head for the school car park to wait for my older sister.

I start walking when I see Shantele in her cute cheerleading costume talking to a guy who obviously is in the football team judging by the way he is dressed and the male aura he has around him. Plus the smell of sweat.

"Andre" I call out and the guy turns waves and smiles at me, I give him a crooked smile in return "where's Flinette?"

"Cheerleading practice" he replies and flips back his deep blonde hair that I always want to run my hands through. "By the way didn't see you cheerleading at the game, not into it?" he asks and I really hate the fact that he is also taller than I am because it allows him to ruffle my hair playfully as much as he can which is what he is doing right now,

I shake my head "nah, it's not my thing and it's also for wanna be's who want to fit in desperately, and I" I say pointing at myself "don't need that am already in the 'it' clique"

He only laughs and gestures for me to come closer "little brat, you sure do know how to make me laugh" by now Shantele already knew it was her cue to go and had already gone "now seriously help me to beg your sister, she's mad at me cause I missed the touchdown"

I only laugh "I make no promises but I might give it a shot okay, no promises" I say and walk towards the school car park.

I promised I would be back with edits and here I am, though I am not fully back. I realized a lot of things weren't fully explained and some of you were confused, so here is a deeper explanation and analysis into the character and mind of our MC.

The next chapter which is the characters list will be done soon and it would have a full detail on our characters because a lot of people were also confused about their age's.
