Mark has been devastated for the past two hours over the fact that Donghyuck got jumped. We all had to sit outside the room for a few minutes, since a few nurses and doctors came to treat him further.

He still hasn't woken up yet, but it makes sense that he hasn't. He lost a lot of blood from his stab wounds, and he had to be treated immediately after he got here.

After they operated on him, Taeyong and Kun made sure that his stitches were cleaned properly, while Jungwoo had to calm Doyoung, since he was just as panicked as Mark.

Maybe not as heartbroken as he was though.

The rest of us, except Y/N, tried to get him to realize it wasn't his fault. If anything, he protected Donghyuck all this time by going practically everywhere with him. Donghyuck isn't the type to go anywhere by himself anyway.

"Mark-hyung, it's not your fault"

"It is though... If I hadn't said that he was heartless, he wouldn't have gone off by himself. He wouldn't have gotten jumped. He wouldn't be in the state he's in now..."

"You couldn't have known this would happen hyung, neither could any of us, not even Donghyuck"

Renjun reassured him.

"I..., just miss him... I didn't mean to hurt him..."

"We know you didn't, but things happen for a reason. We just don't know why it happened"

Lucas explained, petting Mark's head.

"I hope he wakes up soon..."

"He will in time hyung. Have patience."

Just then, Kun came outside and interrupted our conversation.

"Donghyuck's gonna be fine"

"How is he now?"

Jeno asked as Mark looked up with hope.

"He lost a lot of blood, but since they stitched him up and treated his wounds, his blood flow should replace the amount he lost"

"Is he still unconscious?"

"It's more like he's just asleep now. Oh, by the way Mark, even though he's asleep, we heard him call your name a few times"

"W-What?"

"You guys can go see him if you want"

Mark, of course, was the first to dash back to the room, followed by the rest of us.

For the whole time we've been in here, which was about twenty minutes, the only thing Mark has said is "I'm sorry" or "Please wake up" or "I miss you".

Y/N and I stayed with him since everyone got annoyed by him not saying anything else. They left the room again to get drinks and snacks from the vending machines.

Turns out, Y/N was helping Taeyong-hyung and Kun-hyung take care of Donghyuck. It makes sense. When we were younger, she always used to comfort me if I got hurt.

She did for all of us actually. She just always had that motherly instinct, and the passion for taking care of others in need.

"Aish... Why did this have to happen...?"

Mark sighed, watching Donghyuck's sleeping form.

"It's like Lucas-hyung said, things happen for a reason, and we just don't know why. But it's in the past now. Dwelling on it won't help Donghyuck-hyung any"

"I just wish he'll wake up soon..."

"Hyuckie is strong. I know he will"

Y/N reassured.

"You knooooow~"

Chenle suddenly interrupted, coming back into the room.

"This kinda reminds me of Steven Universe~"

"Broooo saaaaame"

Renjun agreed, coming in as well.

"Did someone say Steven Universe???"

Jeno and Jaemin asked, bursting into the room.

"I heard SU. What'd I miss?"

Lucas inquired, coming in as well.

Good grief...

"How does it remind you of that LeLe?"

Y/N asked, giving Chenle her undivided attention, as did everyone else.

"Think of when any of the gems got poofed between Garnet, Amethyst, or Pearl. Steven was always so distraught when any of them got poofed, since they usually take a while to regenerate for the most part"

"Apart from Amethyst"

Y/N butted in.

"She usually takes a few minutes or hours. Unlike Pearl, who took two whole weeks to reform"

"True, but my point still stands"

"So, your saying that Mark-hyung is just as distraught over Donghyuck as Steven gets when one of the gems gets poofed?"

Jeno explained.

"Exactly~. But I'd say Mark-hyung and Donghyuck-hyung are either like Garnet or Opal, relationship wise."

"Why do you say that?"

Renjun asked curiously.

"They're like Garnet in the sense they like being together all the time, and to be apart is sort of torture to them. But they're also like Opal in the sense that they don't always see eye to eye and are usually bickering, but when they do get along, they're super close"

"Makes sense~"

Jaemin smiled at this realization.

"Just like how Garnet said Amethyst would be back in no time, Donghyuck-hyung will be back in no time too Mark-hyung~"

Just then, we heard a groan in the room, to which we all looked over at Donghyuck.

He was actually waking up.

"Like Garnet also said, literally"

Mark dashed over to him and anticipated him to open his eyes.

When he did, he looked around the room looking confused.

"Mark-hyung? Why are all of you here? And why are we in the hos-"

"DONGHYUCKIE~"

Mark yelled, gently hugging him.

"Don't e-ever scare me l-like that again..."

"Huh? What do you mea-"

"HE'S AWAKE?!"

Taeyong yelled in the door way.

"MY BABY!"

Doyoung yelled as well.

"Hi Donghyuckie~"

Jungwoo cooed.

"Since it's apparent that he's awake now... Donghyuck, do you remember what happened?"

Kun-hyung asked reasonably.

"No..?"

He answered with a confused look.

"Makes sense that you wouldn't remember. You were hurt pretty bad. You got jumped, at least that's what you told us before passing out at the door"

Kun explained.

"Wait.... Ohhhhhhh. Yeah, I did. But lucky for me, I beat the snot out of em~"

"Well they could've almost beat the life out of you. You probably would've been dead if you didn't show up when you did. What were you doing out there anyway???"

"Coming home of course"

"Why? Weren't you at school?"

Donghyuck suddenly looked at Mark and looked away, with what looked like the same sad and guilty look Mark had.

"Oh, I see. We'll leave you kids to talk this out"

Kun informed, leading everyone out the room.

"I'll leave too. I don't wanna be rude and butt into your business. I'll be with the others~"

Y/N decided, leaving the room.

"Bye Donghyuckie~"

Jungwoo cooed as he left.

"I-I'm sorry Donghyuck... I didn't mean to hurt you, and I-I definitely didn't want you getting hurt... This whole thing is my fault..."

Mark apologized.

"No no no hyung... It's my fault... I shouldn't have pushed you, and I should've let Jisung do his own thing, but I got carried away again... I'm sorry that I left the school and got myself into this mess, and made you all worry, especially you Mark-hyung... I didn't mean to upset you... And Jisungie, I'm sorry I butted in on your personal life and your relationship..."

Donghyuck apologized, holding Mark's hand.

"It's fine hyung. But how did you get jumped in the first place?"

"I don't really remember much of what happened, but I know there were two or three guys, and one had a knife. I guess I blacked out because the next thing I knew, I was crawling back home. I started banging on the door, and I guess I blacked out again because I don't remember anything after that"

Donghyuck explained.

"They sure did do a number on your phone too..."

Jaemin sighed, examining his now severely damaged phone.

"So that's why you didn't answer! Mark-hyung called you at least a hundred times. He was really worried about you"

Renjun added.

"Oh... I'm sorry hyung..."

"Don't apologize... I'm just glad you're okay~"

Mark cheered as he hugged him, to which Donghyuck hugged him back.

"I missed you too hyung~"

"I guess we really are like Opal and Garnet huh~?"

Mark chuckled.

Donghyuck shook his head and held both of Mark's hands, looking deeply into his eyes.

"I prefer our fusion to be called Markhyuck~"
